Version 2.2 Released
All-In-One Installer

With this update I finally removed the USKP/USLEEP dependencies (the fixes are still included and fully standalone now, no conflicts with or without any of the unoffical patches). This means less versions to update and choose from. The Vanilla and DLC versions got minor fixes while the SkyTEST versions were completely redone for v1.48b.
To update simply overwrite the old files. No other procedure needed.

Due to the fact that I'm not using SkyTEST myself and the immense time it takes to update the according versions of One With Nature each time, I will from now on only provide fixes for minor updates or game breaking bugs.
I will no longer provide new versions for major overhauls of SkyTEST after 1.48b.

Enjoy and please let us know in the bug section if you encounter any issues!

Lesi123's Retirement from Skyrim Modding (September 2017) and OWN Permission Information

After some touch and go since the Skyrim Special Edition release, I’ve decided to hang up my modding hat on Skyrim. I have enjoyed the game immensely over the years but my interests have since moved on.

All of my mods that I am the SOLE author of that use OPEN assets are open to anyone wanting to translate, edit, pick apart, derive, fix, patch, release to other sites, and port to any system/platform SO LONG AS THE FILES ARE NOT BEING SOLD UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE FOR ANY TYPE OF CURRENCY. All I ask is that I am credited as the creator of the original mod. If I am not the sole author of a mod or the mod uses assets that require permission from another author, you MUST contact them for written permission to perform any of the above actions.

I have been given written permission from White Shadow that One With Nature's permissions are now open. As mentioned above, please credit both White Shadow and I as creators of the original mod if any assets are used.

Feel free to PM me with questions. I will occasionally lurk the site and answer questions on my mod pages as well.

Thank you for all the fun times!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When I installed this mod, I crash to desktop as soon as I get to Skyrim's main menu!

This is because you are missing one or more of the required files needed to run the mod. Some versions of One With Nature are dependent on master files so if even one is missing, you will CTD. A simple way to check whether you have all the required master files for the version of OWN you're using is to load One With Nature into Tes5Edit. When it fails, it will tell you which master files you are missing to properly run the mod.

Animals and creatures are not behaving correctly when I put them on non-vanilla setting. What gives?

If you have any other mod that alters an NPC covered by One With Nature, they will conflict and the mod lowest in your load list is going to win. If you do not see a change in behavior, place One With Nature at the bottom of your load order and see if that solves your issue. Also remember that this mod does not affect new animals and creatures added by other mods (with the exception of SkyTEST) so make sure the NPC is from the original game and DLC before reporting. I personally recommend Mfg Console to identify what NPCs belong to which mod. You can also try fast traveling to a location in a different cell and activate the debugger on the Reset & Help section of the MCM to check for correct NPC aura application.

Does this mod work with <insert mod/spell/ability here>?

We have no idea. There are so many mods for Skyrim that we generally leave it to our mod users to help us find incompatibilities so we can fix them. When in doubt, try it out! Just remember to make a backup of your latest save without this mod so that if something doesn't work out, nothing is lost. Be safe and feel free to let us know what you find!

The description said Allied and Friendly NPCs might attack back or run away if I attack them, but they just stand there and ignore me. Why?

It depends on a combination of how many successful hits an NPC receives within a specific time frame and which reaction setting you’re using. Allied NPCs will take about 4 hits within a ~5 second window before they revert to Vanilla behavior while Friendly NPCs will take about 2 hits.

I'm set as Allied or Friendly with NPCs but my horse is still being attacked!

You will need to use Convenient Horses or another horse centered mod that edits horse faction relations to handle that function. This mod focuses solely on the player's faction relationships.

Can you make reaction settings for other types of NPCs like bandits or necromancers?

No. It would cause way too many incompatibilities. Any mod that alters anything with those NPCs would get overwritten and cause some serious issues with a very high likelihood of breaking all sorts of quests.

Is this mod a cheat?

One With Nature is intended to be a roleplaying utility for certain characters and play styles, like druids or werewolves. How and what you use it for is your business alone.

The ReadMe tab and the in-game MCM Help page covers the majority of the mod’s limitations as tested by White Shadow and I.

The ability to disable slaughterfish-aggressiveness alone makes this mod worth it. Removing underwater combat was honestly one of the STUPIDEST gameplay-related decisions Bethesda has made so far.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for this, excellent mod!

(I do wish that Flame Atronachs and Draugr could be included in this, but even so, this is still by far the best mod I've ever come across!)

Thank you, it's very good, although I have not come across all the animals, I can confirm that it worked wonderfully for me, I was also trying other mods, and I told a follower that I no longer required it, as soon as I told her the herd of wolves became hostile against her, haha.

Hi, Yesterday I was standing near a male Elk in Geirmund's Hall. I turned my back on him to continue with my things and then he started attacking me. I have everything vanilla, I have only changed to friendly: elk, rabbit and horker. Do I have to configure something else? Is there something wrong? why did he attack me? The only thing I did was look at it. It's always bothered me that they run around like you're a serial killer of elks. I thought that with your mod it would be solved.
the elk was not under the influence of any spriggan.
so, yes I put reply no edit.

read below

edit: It has taken me horribly to remove this one from the game: SkyTEST - Realistic Animals and Predators that you have put in the compatibilities. I have encountered predators in different parts of Skyrim that have completely ignored me, and it has taken me a hell of a time to remove that and your mod when I found that flaw. After 3 reinstallations of various mods, fnis and several attempts I was finally able to have skyrim vanilla animals back. I'm not going to put your mod back, it turned out great, but... no more new game for installing new mods. So I left this one out, thanks anyway for sharing it and it's a shame that you have written down on your page the address of the other one who was certainly the one who made all the mess in my game.

It would be interesting, although I don't remember having seen any, I think so but I don't remember, I do know that there are some that serve to disguise the character as if they were another person, I don't remember the names either, but surely if you look for maybe the bandits don't attack at first sight, it is very likely that you can do it by command with the addfac command. Although of course, if I understand correctly you would join the bandits so other NPCs will probably attack you, I have no idea.
There has to be some middle ground somewhere where everyone is peaceful.

ddfac/addtofaction <faction ID> <faction rank>     Add a character to a faction.     Valid numbers for the faction rank vary, but 0 will always add the actor with the lowest possible faction rank and -1 will remove the actor from the faction.

Examples for some factions that can't usually be joined in the game, are given below:
Faction ID     Faction     Notes

xx = Hearthfire loading order number
0005A1A4     Player Ally Faction     Will turn the selected NPC into a friendly character.
000E0CD9     Bandit Ally Faction     If used on the player, most bandits will no longer attack.
000E0CDA     Warlock Ally Faction     If used on the player, most warlocks and necromancers will no longer attack.
000E0CDB     Draugr Ally Faction     If used on the player, most draugr will no longer attack.

I made a copy and paste, here you will see it better in your browser, look on the page for "addtofaction"

Hi f.health, I'm glad you like our mod Sadly we won't ever include Falmer (or Rieklings), since they more or less count as NPCs and not exactly as wildlife. This mod is aimed at animals only.

They count as NPC's more than Giants?  They should be as 'intelligent' as rieklings and Falmer. regular falmer have basically devolved into creatures...

would it be possible to add dogs?

Are there any dogs in Skyrim that don't count as companions? There is no point really to add companion NPCs of any kind to this mod, however I might be wrong. I just can't recall ever seeing a hostile or other kind of "stray" dog, which can't be added as companion or is not tied to a certain quest.

Oh ok. I guess its a mod that adds the wild dogs. For the Skytest compatibilty version, can I make a suggestion. The options for elk and deer are either vanilla, allied or friendly and its stated that vanilla is cowardly, but in skytest there are a lot of rutting elks screaming like crazy and attacking you. I'd like the option to turn them cowardly like they are in the vanilla game

Thanks for the suggestion, definitely makes sense!
I'll see what I can do, however sadly I don't have a lot of time at the moment, so please don't hold your breath for the next version

I second adding dogs. I don't think I have any mods that affect animals and since installing this mod, I keep getting attacked by non follower dogs, like the ones in Markarth, Understone Keep.

As stated before, there are no naturally hostile dogs (besides Spectral Warhounds and Death Hounds, which both don't really count). All dogs are either companions, quest related, or belong to an NPC. The mentioned dogs in Understone Keep are the Jarls pets and therefor should behave the way they are trained to.

If you get randomly attacked by dogs, this is either another mod altering their behavior, or some other mod conflict/bug, which gave you a faction you shouldn't have.
Since OWN only uses custom factions, none of which affect dogs or their relations to anything, this (theoretically) can't be caused by our mod. I will look into it though, just to be sure I didn't mess up somewhere.

EDIT: Just realized that this might be caused by SkyTEST, therefor it would be the same kind of issue as the elks. I'll see if it's worth adding for the next update (as stated before, might take a while).

well i fucked up, i was uninstalling some mods to free up some disk space, and accidentally removed this mod (permanently) and i didn't revert the settings to vanilla, so now my game crashes as soon as it starts up, i tried reinstalling it, hoping it'd just continue on loading the files pre-uninstall but no use, is there any fix for this? except for completely reinstalling skyrim?

If reinstalling and loading a save with the mod still present it *can not* be caused by OWN. Please try one of the other mods you removed.

Are you trying to load a save in a place that had creatures affected by the mod?
Then that would be the problem. When you redownloaded the mod, you did so in its base form. without the personalized MCM tweaks. try loading a save that was somewhere there are no affected creatures?

So. I've noticed some incompatibilities with immersion based on factions.
When I ally with Any creatures in the creature faction; Wolves ,Skeevers, Spriggans, Anyone allied with a faction that is opposed to the creature faction, becomes Hostile: -Stray Dog.

Stray dog is hostile to me.
Vigilants of Stendarr are Hostile to me. No, I'm not a vampire or Werewolf.

It is this mod and my tweaks causing the hostilities isn't it?

The SkyTEST patch can't work on account of me not having the .esm file. Where can I get it, or is it not possible to do so?

Edit: upon inspection of the SkyTEST mod page, it seems as though there is a file that has the .esm file, but I will need to replace the .esp file with it. What a bummer.
