I think this bug is caused by the unofficial dragonborn patch, its bsa contain this file with an edit somewhere. I don't think the edit has anything to do with how the mesh become invisible (according to notepad++, the edit is related to the string "tentbones05", which is the name of a small ninode containing some random 3D info).
The problem might just be that the vanilla file is being overwrited by the patch's bsa. And well, sadly scryes aren't the only apocrypha nif contained by this bsa.
Anyone noticed how this part of the quest is lacking containers? (or pods/vessels, as they are called ingame) Yeah, thoses two containers are also edited by the patch, and they are also invisible (at least in my game).
The patch in total edit 4 files related to apocrypha : aposcryetrigger01.nif (the scrye), apourn01.nif, apourn02.nif (the two chests) and apoparachgates01.nif (a door). All four are being used by undeath, I don't know if the doors are visible or not (I haven't finished this level yet), but if you want to (easily) get some loot you probably want to export the two apourn nifs too.
OOOHH THERE'S A MOD FOR THIS ISSUE, WHAT A STUPID OF ME! I JUST KNOW THIS AFTER I SOLVED IT BY BEING ALL SHERLOCK MODE....
seriously, please, if you can, tell the author of undeath to put this mod link in his page so we're know there's a problem about this one, so, "OOH YES I REMEMBER MOD TO FIX THIS ONE IN UNDEATH MOD PAGE"
maybe you're not know it, but to some of us, you're like hero, saved everyone ass from blind searching for 2 hours...im not using this, but i'll endorse it
it doesn't work, only 2 scrye it's visible, i have run into apocrypha looking down all the time, thanks skeleton army to screw up the seekers while i'm going mad looking the floor
