I tried again and still got the bounty. To clarify, I get a 5,000 bounty on my head when I leave the mine and move to the Markarth Ruins (after killing Madanach) - so perhaps it is from the jail escape rather than the bounty for being taken to Cidhna Mine? Can't remember when the bounty was originally given.
So, you're saying that with this mod you have to *SPOILER* kill Maro during the final portion of the 'to kill an emperor' quest when he is at the docks */SPOILER* to avoid the bounty?
Hmm... the bounty for 'to kill an emperor' still went through. I had 0 bounty for life, and now i have 1500 for haafingar.. Happens the moment I walk up the getaway bridge after maro starts talking. I had this mod installed before 'to kill an emperor' was even started.
Definitely giving this a go. Another quest to look at would be the bounty you get when you are arrested in The Forsworn Conspiracy. That always annoyed me.
The more I look at this the less it makes sense (kind of like the DB11 quest). You get thrown in Cidhna Mine, then you get a bounty?!
How about this? The guards throw you in without reporting anything. If you kill Madanach, you finish the quest with no bounty. If you help Madanach, then you must exit wearing the "Armor of the Gods" set to not get a bounty (It covers your face so no one should recognize you).
While I like the idea of no bounty on that quest - it might make more sense for you to get a bounty if you help Madanach escape. So, instead of the bounty activating when you go to jail, it happens when you exit the mine with Madanach. So, if you kill him and talk to Thonar, you don't get the bounty. But if you exit with Madanach and kill Thonar, you do get the bounty.
Is the bounty removed if you help Madanach? ...how does he manage that? I can see how the Silver-Bloods do, as they have the sway to pull it off (having the guards already in their pocket), but Madanach...err, that is a bit odd.
Exactly. My son just played through the quest the other day. He told me Madanach says something like "Don't worry about your bounty. After this everyone will know who the real monster is." I couldn't find anything like this in the quest dialogue or by google? I did find the line that removes your bounty even if you side with Madanach though. I prefer this route, so I want to be able to do that without incurring a bounty. Following the vanilla logic, I don't see the problem with removing the bounty altogether.
Does/can this work for one who already completed the DB Questline? If so, this would deff be a insta download/endorsement if it/could remove the bounty after the questline is done, (Y).
Sorry, if this is possible, it really doesn't fit into the scope of this mod. I'm willing to bet that if you can use console commands to increase misc stats, you can do that to the bounty stat until it rolls over.
*SPLOILER* At first the bounty bothered me, so I completely understand why you created this mod, but I pondered the circumstances further and came to the conclusion that the character is a murderer, after all, and you were betrayed. The bounty is the logical fallout. With that said, I have enjoyed the challenge of trying to play through without incurring a bounty and have a "clean record" after completing all the major quest lines, excluding that particular quest. This way you can revel in the fact you have a big dougnut for lifetime bounty. Thanks for this mod. I will download and endorse.
