*** I'm adding this to the top after the fact***
THANK YOU to all the mod authors and community members who have come to my aid both in forum and in email. As long as videos are allowed to be uploaded I shall continue to do so in hopes to showcase those authors work which I have a great admiration for.
I believe I've found a home for my art. It's been 30 years in the waiting. Thank you all =)
    -----

    Some education = )

-I'm not the first person to make a mod showcase file. Gopher, who I respect a great deal was the first.
-This is a file. As you can download them. Read the description.
-I'll be showcasing both newer and older mods. Many of the old ones being missed by people just getting into modding will now be seen.
-I will not showcase a mod just because it's new and popular. Popularity does not always mean quality.
-Comments about the video share. I've already done so. Thanks for that gem of knowledge = )
-About videos not being allowed to be uploaded... I wonder why there is a video/trailer option under File Uploads?

Trolls will be blocked as well as unhelpful nonsense. I am not here to gain a pop shot at popularity. I am here to offer video support for the Mod Authors who have gained both my respect and praise through their hard work and unpaid dedication. Thanks for reading =)

To further remove all doubt, uploading a video file into the "Videos and trailers" category is absolutely fine. That's what this category is for after all. It may be redundant now that the video share feature got introduced, but at the video share you cannot offer high-quality versions of the videos for download as you can here. This category does have a reason, and it's certainly no 'rule break' to make use of it. The video share is an addition, not a substitute.

Maybe in future this category will be removed. I don't know. But right now it's here, and complaints against people using it for what it was intended for are senseless and only off-topic spam, or in the worst case, trolling.

@RichardPellets: Contrary to what is claimed about your file upload here, the comments doing this and the 1-liners agreeing to them all 'are' in violation of the ToS. Feel free to remove them as you please or report the more obnoxious ones. Staff will take care of them appropriately then.

I appreciate that greatly. But I, at least for the ones who have commented thus far, will not report them. I don't want people to think that I am here to cause any harm. However, I am also not here for harm to be caused to me or my work. I hope to do nothing but add to this website and never to hurt it. Your time and response has truly been appreciated Drake. And for everyone else, I mean to do nothing but showcase the mods that I personally love... thus... skyrim mod FAVORITES.... my favorites... and hopefully a great deal of your favorites as well. Thank you all.

I think it is a great idea to have your videos here!
Very nice to see a overview of what is covered so people can easy choose the REVIEW video.
And this is important, those are all reviews and help the mod authors. It is always a pain for me trying to search for reviews and videos in youtube. If people don't like this site, they shall not complain and go elsewehere. Thats my opinion

Y'know, Nexus does have a video share section... If you want to make a showcase, you should probably use that section...

You're talking about Gopher. Now I and many other people would say he's allowed to do what he wants and not just because hes a mod on the site. He is a huge member of the Skyrim modding community and a lot of people would be lost without his videos for guidance. Now i'm not saying you're any less of a person but Gopher is Gopher and the community respects him and his work.

And we all started somewhere = ) I appreciate your approach and respectful way of communicating. If i didn't pour hours into these videos and was just throwing stuff up to try to gain some quick youtube views I would be the first person to tell me to take it down. As I am not yet any good at making mods (one day I'd like to be but we shall see how it goes) this is the way that I can best contribute to a website that I love more than any other. So I hope you can understand my position. I am not here to spam the site. Only to help add too it.

Gopher is not a mod, he's a News writer.
And as famous as he might be, who you are doesn't exempt you from the rules here.
Gopher is allowed to do what he does, because everybody is. There's no rule against uploading a video to the "Videos and trailers" category of the file sites.

I originally started to add my video series here on Nexus instead of YouTube because I was was more comfortable here on the Nexus. I only started uploading to YouTube originally because there was a file size limit here on Nexus back then, and I could not get HD videos small enough to upload I no longer post my videos here on Nexus directly for download, but there is nothing wrong with people doing so. The files are often a lot smaller than the big texture packs, so size is not an issue any more.

I did this long before I was a news writer and I was not even the first. There were hundreds of videos in uploaded here before I started. Some people don't want a YouTube presence, but still have something to add to our community. Some prefer the community here to the YouTube one. And others just want to reach as many people as possible. It harms no one, so why get all upset about it?

I personally prefer the new video section and with some tweaks feel it will be a better option. But the word 'option' is the key here. All of us have the choice to upload videos as files rather than to the new video section.

As mod author and long time member/user of the nexus I would like to add my comment in support of RichardPellets and his mod showcase series.

In my opinion, having access to good video reviews and showcases of mods is vital. And it most certainly is not trivial. People like RichardPellets and Gopher are both very talented in showcasing mods, something that is very difficult to do.

Although everyone is entitled to provide their opinion, as that is the freedom the nexus provides, it would be appreciated if such opinion were delivered with a form of respect towards an authors efforts and dedication to this community. I find the judgmental and dictatorial approach worrisome, we should not all play for moderator.

Personally I like to watch mod videos in the best quality possible, as that is how I play the game. Having that option is important to me, as the quality of the uploaded videos are superior to those on youtube and the video section, even though things are improving.
As Gopher also pointed out, it is always nice to get a new angle on a mod that has been around for awhile, also most mods receive updates over time that were not covered previously.

As others have also pointed out, having a central nexus page is easy for tracking what is available. I also prefer getting notifications this way, as I am not a fan of youtube. A nexus page also allows for people within the community to comment or recommend things on a centralized page, rather than having to figure out what people, who are relevant to the community, would like to see or think in a myriad of youtube video comments.

RichardPellets skills in making video showcases is a valuable new addition to the nexus (Skyrim) modding community, this should be heralded not harassed.

To keep it short please show courtesy when providing critique, as has been the standard on the nexus since I started modding Morrowind, it would be a shame to see that changed.

Thank you guys for the support = ) Means a lot. I love having a way for people to download the higher quality videos. One day I hope to have my own webpage, but for now, I can't afford it. Thanks a ton.

There used to be a ton of people doing mod reviews and keeping us informed when new mods came out, but a lof of them have fallen by the wayside, for one reason or another. I am VERY happy to see new people rise up to take up the reins, especially when they do such a skillful job of it! I've been a fan of RichardPellets aka GamerPoets work since he showed up on Youtube, and we need more people like him to show off the mods that hard working modders are putting together. I've found several new mods to add to my game since I found his channel, and I've got 1800ish hours into the game! He provides a very needed service to our community!

I like this solution cause I get all of these videos with one easy to bookmark nexus link. And what’s the golden rule of modding? Enjoy it or ignore it? Something like that

This should be uploaded to the video section. It is against the rules to post "My 10 Favorite Mods" kind of things in the file section.

The rule is taken out of context here.
You are not allowed to upload a "My 10 Favorite Mods" compilation of other people's "mods".
There's no sense in uploading just a text file "list" of mods either.
But it's not against the rules to upload a "video file" to the "Videos and trailers" category and link some YouTube videos to it.
