im trying to understand why it don't work with concentration spells. seems wierd, as you have staffs in vanilla that work fine with concnetration, like magelight or tunderbolt
i was about to download this mod, when i got dissapointed watching the video and seeing that every spell uses the same effect on the end of the staff, therefore breaking the immersion of using this mod. it would be perfect, if you could make the staff show what we would normally hold in the hand. so even mod spell would look awesome with that. *thinks of a certain dark flames spell together with his necromancer character*
for anyone having problem with dual sheath redux not showing the magestaff on back, you can open the mod, duplicate a staff you like (i used magnus staff), then change the enchant with the one from the magestaff, add the script, and rename the staff (i called it master magestaff). after that run the patcher, open the game, and type help "staffname" to get the id and then player.additem to add the staff
For anyone interested, to use magicka instead of soul gem charges for casting spells through your staff:
--> get the smartcast mod, create a combination spell (within smartcast), and assign the combo spell to your equipped staff (from this mod). essentially it will assign 0 cost to your charges, and deplete your magicka instead.
If I had a list of the most under endorsed mods on the nexus this would definitely be in the top 3 the only problem is even with the dual sheathe redux patcher I can't see the staves on my back...
Do these staffs work with the Ordinator staff perks: Enchanting: "30 - Staff Expertise - You gain a small amount of Enchanting experience when using a staff in combat." "40 - Wizard's Staff - When a staff is equipped, spells of any school are 30% more powerful or last 60% longer, and Destruction perks that enhance dual cast spells work on those spells." "50 - Starlight Sage - Regenerate Magicka 50% faster when wielding a staff in your right hand. Regenerate Stamina 50% faster when wielding a staff in your left hand."
I'd love to see a version where you still use magicka, but at a decreased cost when spells are cast with the staff. You know, have the staff as a point of focus like with Gandalf in LOTR
This. I was looking for a mod that "simply" made staffs replace the clunky hand casting. Don't want to craft endless staves and have them be gamey resourceless OP items. Would love a version where the staff has infinite uses and consumes magicka, and where hand casting is more of the universal, albeit less powerful approach, while each staff may have a type of magic (or more, for extra rare items) they're particularly good at.
