Alrighty, decided to go ahead and remedy any quirks this had with 4.2
Had an epiphany on what was causing the Dragonborn dunmer lasses to not have the ol' "Follow me, I need your help." dialogue option. Now ya can get 'em blue-skinned ash dwellers in yo' party.
I once tried recruiting Orthorn (using Convincing Coinage and then The B Team) and not each dialogue instance was voiced, even if they were the same lines. That was months ago though around the time I wrote my previous comment.
Recently, I'd been trying to make my new follower WIP mod use the MaleBandit(?) or MaleCommander voice types. He uses the dialogue and the subtitles properly, but the voices don't play.
Sorry for the late reply. Haven't been into Skyrim that much as of late.
MaleBandit works just fine for me. Haven't tested out MaleCommander yet.
Disable all your mods but this one and XFL, start a new game and see if you are still not getting the dialogue. If you aren't, you probably installed this badly.
Hello! This mod looks amazing, but I want to know its limitations. In particular, I am wondering if I can use this mod to replace the voice type of an NPC or follower. For example, could I use this mod to edit a certain NPC with the voicetype FemaleSultry, and change it to use the FemaleYoungEager voicetype instead?
Possibly a silly question but: Is Convincing Coinage compatible with the recent EFF version? I'm worried about the last time it was updated and you have it suggested in this mod page so that other NPCs can be made followers.
Yes, which could be interpreted as "Updated to include XFL Beta 13," not "Solely for XFL Beta 13." Which is why I asked, because it was unclear as written. But by all means, be a dick about it.
"1. Extract the two main file archives into your Skyrim root directory (where TESV.exe is). 2. Activate both mods"
as you say to do in the installation instructions.
I guess the two main file archives are: "AAA_FyTy_XFL_Voicetype_Extension_v1_01-52553-1-01.7z" AND "Convincing Coinage_FollowerFactionsAddon-52553-V1-0.7z" can you explain further, please.
Open the Voicetype_Extension archive. Place the EditScripts folder in your Skyrim rootfolder (where TESV.exe is). Place the contents of the data folder in your SkyrimData folder.
Open FollowerFactionsAddon. Place the contents of the data folder in your SkyrimData folder.
Jeez dude; this is basic modding knowledge. You have google at the top-right corner of your screen.
Your instructions don't match the folder structure in your download. Could you put the .bsa and .esp files in a folder marked Data for future releases?
Hey fifty -- does this mod conflict with Inconsequential NPCs, MFVM and potentially any other mods that add voices? Also when you say now npcs with all these extra follower voices can be married .. so for like hadvar's voice or maleelfhaughty ... they won't have any marriage dialogue--it'll just be text or something right? Which is why fus ro doh is an option?
It shouldn't, but it all depends on how those mods add the custom voices.
If they edit the follower quests, then yes. There will be conflicts.
Fus Ro D'oh is recommended, due to the Coinage mod. The whole thing about marriages, is that Coinage add's NPCs to the PotentialMarriageFaction, which should allow for most NPCs to be married, sans the unique voice types. No promises on that end, though.
I actually replaced mfvm with this mod and so far it's been awesome--I also am using B-Team, but since it says in your list that nelacar was marriable, I tried to marry a justiciar in my game and used the bribery mod, but it seems like I can't marry that voicetype? Is there a workaround? Or is Nelacar just a special exception for the marriage faction with the maleelfhaughty voicetype? I also tried to marry a test char I made using malelfhaughty that I put into the marriage faction, but there is still no marriage option. Any suggestions?
It could be that Nelacar has dialogue crafted solely for him. If it's nothing character specific, it would only take me half a minute to allow all MaleElfHaughty voicetype NPCs to make use of his marriage dialogue.
Yes, the starred NPC's on B-team's list are ones that I've given the right factions to make marriageable, but don't actually have marriage dialogue (to the best of my knowledge). It's possible that there is audio in the dialogue pools that just wasn't implemented for some reason, but I doubt it.
They will likely require another mod to be made marriageable; at the very least one which changes the existing marriage dialogue to point to the MaleElfHaughty etc. voicetype but then just leaves the clips out. With Fus-Ro-D'oh they will mouth the lines but not say them, then.

"for XFL Beta 13"
"XFL Beta 13"
"XFL"
Why would I update it for a beta?
You could try changing the masters of the .esp to the new EFF files; see if that works.
