    Legacy Troubleshooting Guide

This guide will list some common or recurring issues and the steps needed to resolve them. This guide will soon become the only method of support I will offer for updated games. Fresh install versions will still get bug support, but too many X factors are involved in people's upgrading from one version to another to be able to blanket resolve issues. If your issue is not on this guide, please feel free to post about it to get support, but be aware that we may only be able to give limited support. If it becomes clear that your issue is more common, I will begin a troubleshooting forum thread for other users to post their similar issue and hopefully a solution can be discovered and will be entered into this guide as a result. If you issue seems unique...

    FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of frequently asked questions and common troubleshooting solutions

    FAQ

Q: Does Legacy Support Wyrmstooth V1.17a or V1.17b found on ModDB or Internet archive? Jonx0r posted an update!
A: First of all, no he didn't, it is a poser. The mod on ModDB was pulled at his request because the person posting it was not him. Jonx0r is GONE and Wyrmstooth is NO LONGER SUPPORTED. Legacy will still work for V1.17x but no displays for new items will be added. Additionally, the SSE version of Legacy DOES NOT support the Wyrmstooth version available for it as it re-rolled all of its forms and therefore is not compatible.

Q: The lockbox in Silent Moons Camp is missing, how can I get it?
    A: Stop using me...

Supported Mod and Addon Patch summary guide

This guide will clarify what specifically each addon patch or integrated support will do when these mods are loaded with legacy.

Additionally, a full list of Legacy MCM display checklists is shown below

      -Aetherium Armor and Weapons
Hall of lost empires adapts to place a door under the base of the steps that
leads to an exhibit room called the Aetherium Collection where you can
display both varieties of the UNENCHANTED versions of the gold or silver
aetherium items. The aetherium forge display appears inside this new
hall but the original display will need to be manually disabled if it
has already been enabled and the patch installed mid play through.

  • V19 Installation and Upgrade Guide

    V19 Installation Instructions

NOTE: V19 REQUIRES a fresh installation and a NEW character if you have been using previous versions of Legacy.  DO NOT attempt to upgrade an old character which was using a previous version, this will break your game. Legacy V19 CAN be installed on an existing save as long as NO version of Legacy has ever touched that save.

    INSTALLATION

Legacy of the Dragonborn is designed as a foundational mod to build a load order around a certain type of play style. It is highly recommended that you start a fresh game rather than installing Legacy on a game in progress. Additionally if this game in progress has an older version of Legacy, it ABSOLUTELY cannot be installed over it.

  • Cleaning your save with Save Game Cleaner

Cleaning your save with Save Game Cleaner

Save game cleaning can help fix many problems your game may be experiencing, however it can also break your save game entirely if you don't do it correctly. You should never do a full across the board clean of every entry in your save game, that will most likely spell disaster, but if you carefully and precisely remove the correct entries, your game will survive and run faster and better for it.

Here are the instructions needed to run SURGICAL cleanings of your save game for Legacy content that must be cleaned. I try and keep calls for this to a minimum, but now and then a bug is found in the Legacy scripts that must be cleaned in this manner. In an update that requires this i will list the specific script name that sh...

  • Quest Stages - Full quest stage list

Quest Stages - Full quest stage list

First thing is first, if you have been to the museum and talked to Auryen previously, then:

SETSTAGE DBM_MUSEUMQUEST 40 (this skips the whole intro and sets the reward quest stages)

If you have received rewards previously and want to get them back, set each of these stages in sequence until you reach the reward you were at before: (note: off the top of my head, WIP)
    SETSTAGE DBM_MUSEUMCOLLECT 6 (skullcrusher)
    SETSTAGE DBM_MUSEUMCOLLECT 7 (thornblade)
SETSTAGE DBM_MUSEUMCOLLECT 8 (Cleaver of St felms)
    SETSTAGE DBM_MUSEUMCOLLECT 9 (Eleidon's Ward)
