I'd (much) like to use it on SE. Just optimizing the meshes with CAO and changing the esp (obis.esp to obis se.esp) should be enough to work on SE no ?
For me the cloaks added (cloak lace short(s) and the faction cloaks) are invisible for me, however items like the new capes for the Divines still are visible, as well as all the other faction armor. I have WIC and Cloaks of Skyrim, as well as the original OBIS compatibility patches for them. I also opened up OBIS Redone in TESVedit and there seems to be no files conflicting or overwriting them.
Thats really weird. ALL the cloaks use the exact same mesh. Thats why in OBIS I only change 1 cloak mesh and I just use that 1 mesh over and over. The fact that some work and some don't is really weird. It's like the mesh only works sometimes.
So you looked at all of them and ALL of the short lace and faction cloaks are invisible?
I haven't looked at all of them yet, but every time I run into it in my game the laced and faction cloaks are invisible sadly. I even tried redownloading the mod again manually and just readding the Meshes and Textures to no avail.
I'm sorry I don't know what could be doing it. As I said they all use the same mesh so the fact that some are missing and others aren't is very weird. Are the textures there? Check in the folders, maybe it didn't install them or something.
Yeah, I reuse the black cloak mesh from Illustrious HDT Cloaks.
The only mod that provides HDT for that specific cloak mesh is Illustrious HDT Cloaks therefore if you want HDT you already have to have that specific mod installed. If the user wants HDT I provide a new mesh, in the Illustrious folder, that replaces the old black cloak mesh that allows for transparency. If you don't want HDT I provide a new mesh that has no HDT in the same folder. In the esp ALL the cloak items point to that same mesh.
Ok two things: As it turns out I'm an doofus and all cloaks are in fact invisible (I was testing the Divines and Daedric Prince capes, not the cloaks instead). and 2 I don't have HDT installed, nor any mods using it, do I need to to get the cloaks working?
I'm decently sure I chose normal cloaks, but I'll double check. As for the meshes, there are a lot of .nif files in that folder from 125-126 kilobytes.
I've found the issue, when OBISR was installed, it somehow put all the meshes in a folder outside of meshes called clothes (skyrim/data/clothes). I simply just extracted the files from there to where you told me to look at it worked, lol. Thanks for the help, super appreciate it, and sick mod too!
What the heck coulda caused that? It's not a FOMOD, its just a straight forward install. If I did mess it up everyone would be saying the same thing. Ill keep my eye on this...
Update: OK I figured it out. Kinda fascinating... it seems you two are the only ones that are NOT using HDT cloaks. In the original OBIS I messed up the folder paths for placing the cloak meshes. The HDT people were continuing to use their normal mesh and you guys got nothing. I'll update the original OBIS but thanks for the help guys.
I just don't think thats a good idea cause when you change a list it affects ALL the mods that use that list. So if a modder is expecting a peaceful creature to be spawned and instead you get a hostile bandit, it ruins the experience of other mods.
Noticing a strange interaction here ever since I installed wearable lanterns all non vanilla torches play an animation upon equipping and equipping. this happpens even with no lantern and is just the strangest thing... oh well they still work so not a big deal just strange
umm you are going to need to put more details before the author or anyone else can help you my friend, what are you doing when it ctds, how often, does it CTD, have you tried it on a new save with all other mods turned off?
I've got a crazy load order in the works, and I can testify that I've never had to fix stuff like broken meshes or anything that causes crashes. in this mod. However the armors are not Bodyslide-able (... yet :3)
I'll be honest, yes, this mod can cause CTDs because it has so many meshes and everyone's setups are so different and fickle in some way and not in other ways. By looking at the endorsement count though MANY people have used and enjoyed the mod, but there is a small group of people that will encounter issues. Also this statement proves true for any large mod. Some games and setups just wont play nice with some mods.
Hey JVD since there is going to be a new version of obis soon I was wondering if it would be possible for future versions to have some clutter be "oppenable" as in if you use a jar of saber cat eyes it will prompt you to open it and if you accept it will add random amounts of said item and vanish. Same with jars adding random lightweight stuff perhaps even rare jewels or just junk...

Is this compatible with the latest OBISEdit after reading the comments seems yes.
Thanks

2) Check in the meshes/clothes/cloaksofskyrim folder, you should see 4 nif files and they should each be around 125-126 kilobytes.

No worries. I figured it out.
