Any feedback is welcome here. If you don't like my work, I can respect that as long as you show respect in return. And if you have any suggestions, feel free to post them too.
For those asking why this isn't a shout, I've made my position clearer in the FAQ on the description page.
Hello. Let me get a little philosophical. So, your permanent skills are limited to 25 souls. I disagree. Mirak healed himself completely 3 times in the final battle. He absorbed 1 soul each time. Why can't a Dragonborn at a certain level (100th for example) achieve full 100% effects?
I kinda dont understand when the permanent bonuses kick in. Is it when i consume a dragon soul via the power or when i consume a soul when unlocking a new shout.
I'm still very much around, the mod is safe to install.
I haven't updated the mod in a long time because it does what it's supposed to do. I also tested it extensively before releasing so people aren't my guinea pig... You can expect the same level of quality from all my mods.
Have fun!
Edit: If you're using Skyrim Enhanced (SE) edition, you should use the SE edition of this mod
I'd just gonna make counterpoints on the FAQ section.
I used a mod that adds some new shouts that didn't even have a shout voice. Somehow I didn't even bothered. (if you wonder which mod, it's Colorful Magic). As for shout pic, you can just use whatever as you said and clearly state to those lore zealots lol.
Now, that I'm NOT asking you to make shout ver. In fact, I'm happy stumbled upon this mod. And with how it's currently done. Nice mod, and thanks
There are many mods for dragon soul investments, but I found "Dragon Soul Relinquishment" and "Ziil Los Dii Du" the best featured combo. Both complement each other for the permanents and the second is great as lore combat strategy in extreme situations too. Thanks for make this.
If you add the gain of one perk point every 5 dragon souls consumed ( to the cap of 5 perk point earned by this way ) you get a better lore friendly mod than dragon soul relinquishment and not so much OP. I always appreciate new way to use dragon souls. Endorsed.
This is an interesting idea, but I think it might have made the mod a bit too over-powered.
I already used the wonderful Dragon Blood mod to get perks from killing dragons so I never though about integrating this kind of bonus when I did this mod.
I also like to be able to cleanly uninstall each mods I create so I don't tend to add a feature that cannot be uninstalled afterward. Adding perk points is easy, removing them wasn't...
Edit: now that I think about it, I don't really see the point of simply adding 5 perks points. If you want to add perk points, why stop there? I think people that want more perk points will use other mods and get a lot more than just 5. With my TTRSO mod, I actually had over 80 more perk points, which wasn't a problem since I balanced the mod to be versatile and not overpowered.
The only way would be to open the Creation Kit, make the modification to the spell then save. It's really not that hard or time consuming.
But, I think it's pointless to do so since the permanent bonuses are small enough to just have a small impact:
"Permanent bonuses top at 25 Dragon souls consumed. This means the permanent bonuses will never be greater than 50% health, magicka and stamina regeneration rate and 25% reduced cooldown between shouts."
In fact, only the 25% reduced cooldown on shouts will really be significant, the rest is just a tiny boost barely noticeable in combat (out of combat has even less effect).
I balanced the mod to give you something good, but not overpowered. I always balance my mods that way.
I'm a little confused why you think that there would be a legal problem with using Miraak's voice file when you use the power. There are many NPC and follower mods that rework existing voice files to create unique dialogue, this shouldn't be any different than that.
Actually, there's precedent. There use to be a mod that fixed Esben's voice (guy in the dragon temple) but it was removed at the request of Bethesda for copyright infringement.
