I know im 6 years late, but just discovered this mod after seeing that concept art online... you did it PERFECTLY! Definitely better than vanilla model, Thank you very much for your work! (endorsed!)
well if somebody in a fight smacks the person wearing the amulet with a warhammer and the pointy end happens to be aimed at the bearer's body... That won't end well XD still, right now they could just rip of the chain from there neck and hold it in there hand using it as brace knuckles/daggers
Actually, I think the idea of this amulet is to resemble the amulet of Thor. As you probably know there are many many things in this game related to Scandinavian mythology, like Ulfberth and Jordis.... It is only my opinion, I just always thought of it that way.
It's supposed to resemble the hammer of Thor, Mjolnir, which was (and still is) a prominent symbol for followers of the Norse pantheon.
Though how Talos relates to Thor I am unsure... Perhaps the whole "protector of Skyrim/the Nords" thing?
EDIT: Granted, there's also a lot of Jesus-allusion with Talos, and the mod requester for whom this was made wanted it to look more like a cross... I personally prefer the original Mjolnir-esque amulet, but to each their own.
This actually does look a lot like the Talos shrine, too, which people are seeming to like. ^^ Though to be fair, if Bethesda was going by the Talos/Thor thing and not also alluding to Jesus, they could have just reversed the Talos amulet for the shrine, and make it actually look hammer-like rather than cross-like.
well that pretty much answers it then right? Bethesda based most of its content on real life myths, but changed it to there own taste instead of blandly making a copy of it. Honestly I like it, rather the 9 divines and heretic gods along with the Deadra instead of Thor and other Nordic gods like Odin, its not a bad thing, but so many games keep using those instead of being original. Especially as I get so tired of so many games associating a hammer with lighting magic, to me a hammer is more earth magic, give lighting to a spear or daggers to stab 500 times per second, works way better then a hammer. XD (also spears are just cooler, damned you Bethesda for not adding spears to Skyrim)
Actually I did not want it to look like a cross. It just so happened that it looked like a cross (and I happened to like how it looked like that) on the concept art. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/File:Amulet_of_Talos_Concept_art.png
Well, Talos actually does have a few connections to Thor. His original name was Hjalti Early-Beard, but was later named by the Nords of Skyrim Talos which meant "Stormcrown" in the old Nord Tongue not to mention that Talos' approach was always heralded by lightning. He is often seen as the Patron god of Mankind (like Thor). And he is depicted in Skyrim as standing triumphantly over a serpent, he looks like he is one hammer away from looking like Thor kicking the snot out of Jormungandr. Basically Talos is Thor+Jesus+Alexander the Great.
I been trying to get ahold of you, trying to see if I could get permission to use your twinkle sword in my drizzt mod as I managed to be able to get icingdeath. Anway hopefully you see this as i can't pm you :\

EDIT II: Eh, semantics.

@rkh90 - I agree with you.
Looks good and it works with retextures.
