    TROUBLESHOOTING

    v1.60-1.602 Changelog

Question: How can I create a patch for iNeed?
Answer: You will need to add the new foods/drinks to the formlists in iNeed.esp using TES5Edit or the CK.

    DrinkList = alcohol
    DrinkNoAlcList = non-alcoholic drinks
    HeavyList/MedList/LightList = food that will provide a high/medium/low amount of satiation (e.g. horse haunch/chicken/apple)
SoupList = food that will provide a medium amount of satiation and slight hydration (e.g. beef stew)
NoSpoilList = food that will not spoil (e.g. jerky), must still be added to heavy/medium/low list
    RawList = raw food
HorseList = food for your horse, must still be added to heavy/medium/low list if fit for human consumption
WaterList = reserved for waterskins (you shouldn't be adding anything to this one).

Don't want to create a patch? As of 1.50, you can "patch" unrecognized food items in-game upon consumption of the item provided that it has the VendorItemFood keyword.

Wait, the mod has to reinitialize the menu every time you load a game?? And then you have to redo all the configurations all over again? What the hell kind of s*** is that? Not only but the status key shows two different statuses for me instead of one. Did nobody test this crap??

Download FISS to save configuration for new games.
Every mod configuration is saved in your save. If your resets upon loading saved game your game is broken. Reinstall mods and read a little how to intall mods correctly before you write angry posts. Here on nexus are at least two very good guides how to mod skyrim.
      1. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77928
      2. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74427/

Isoku is one of the best modders here and this mod is working almost flawlessly.

This is the only mod that's ever given me problems, even after reinstalling. There are a hundred other bugs right now that are unresolved because the author has given up on this mod years ago. Also if it only works under very specific conditions, that is not "working almost flawlessly." That's called unstable and brittle. The links you posted do nothing to help address the problem, or any of the others that keep coming up. Every time I run this mod there's a different problem. The innkeepers stopped offering to refill water now, and many other people have this issue too.

Then i can't help you. I have right now 1107 mods with over 350 merged esp files. My game is at it's limit and this mod is working as intended. Settings are saved. Innkeepers refill water. Waterskins refill in water. Can drink from well/rivers. Icons are working. Status is updating each time i eat. Menu pops up each time i use new types of food or drink and mod remembers food that was configurated in particular gameplay.

so IDK if this is a bug or just cause I have a custom follower but my notifications are being spammed that my follower has no food drink or gold, and it takes up my screen for a good 10-15 mins before it goes away and if I eat or drink one item it does it again, and I'm like I get it he has no food stop telling me DX and Idk what to do to fix this as even when I turn off follower needs it keeps going still @[email protected]

I recently noticed that it dosent work anymore for some reason, after Setting the Options in the menu of iNeed it wont open anymore for changes and the Icons for example plus hunger, thirst, fatigue wont appear anymore...what could be the Problem ?

Not compatible with Better Vampires. When selecting Hybrid, thirst and hunger don't go down (as they shouldn't) but feeding doesn't affect fatigue. When selecting Pure, it basically does the same exact thing as Mortal. Any chance of there being a compatibility patch?

BV has it's own satiation system. Just dosn't play nice with iNeed. I'd suggest disabling the mod on your vampire save; first make sure you're well-everything. Disable immediately thereafter, and you're good to go.

Note that disabling iNeed on one save will have zero effect on any other saves you have running. I've currently got a vampire and a lich with iNeed shut off, a werewolf and a Yautja with it on, and no issues.

I've noticed an odd behavior. When I drink water, from a skin, bottle, or cask, i receive a satiation notice immediately. If I drink alcohol, the message is delayed until I close inventory. No other effect, it's just curious.

And to the folks who are experiancing instabilities, turn off some of the advanced features! They introduce a lot of scripted actions with short cycles; such scriptload is bound to cause trouble down the line. I've got mine set so basic that honestly, I could use a lighter needs mod and get virtually the same experiance, but I really like the widgets.

This mod is currently a must for every of my Oldrim playthrough, it offers a reason for you to hunt and visit inn to restock and become my favourite game mechanic that I now can't live without.

However, if you intend to use this mod you should also know that it can and will, break your game, eventually by either causing inventory CTD or save game CTD. Reloading old saves won't even help, every saves you loaded will be corrupted by the script in the mod and quickly becomes unplayable. Fortunately, you can fix it by simply remove the mod (don't bother with the uninstall feature, it will cause CTD if you touch it when this happen) from your load order, save it, clean all the orphan script, and reinstall it again.

The author seems to already abandon development of this mod so this issue will probably never be fixed, which is fine and all but he really should mention this in his mod page as well as the workaround. I can imagine quite a few people have to abandon their playthrough because they don't know how to deal with this iussue, happened to me personally for a few times too.

      This is complete fake news.
I have used this mod on a 2000+ hour savefile and the only problems I've had are RARELY when I contract a disease the associated cure disease potion won't remove it.
To fix this I either use the console to give myself another bottle until its removed.
If the method above doesn't work I turn off the mod in the MCM then turn it back on.

Can confirm this happened to me too. Saving would crash my game. I uninstalled the mod, cleaned the scripts and suddenly I can save again. I really love this mod, but having it eventually cause CTDs stops me from using it.

I have no idea why some people have that kind of problems. Probably unstable game? Mod conflict? I am running 1134 mods with over 350 eps merged and i don't have issues caused by this mod. Never had.

No, not unstable. Literally the only crash I've had in several dozen hours was because of this mod. Not heavily modded. No conflicts. Just because you don't have problems with the mod doesn't mean others don't.

Can you please share with us what "Crash Fixes" or the tool you used to determinate that this mod is responsable for your CTD reported? That would be helpful for people who has problems in their game and think this mod could be the reason because I imagine you did use something to reach that conclusion.

No tool. I tested the mod under several different scenarios and was able to reproduce a crash 100% of the time. Once I removed the mod, the crashes went away. I did this several times on several different saves and got the same results each time. Some saves were modded heavily, some lightly, and some not at all. CTD's in all of them on save, but they stopped when the mod was removed. I can say with complete certainty, this mod has a chance of breaking your save eventually. Some people say it's tied to the spoilage feature, some say it happened even without it on. I can't say for sure what causes it, as I did have spoilage turned on, but I can say for certain that the mod did cause it.

I can confirm this mod cause "crash on save" after some time.
      Its probably another mod conflict.
Already try several config of the mod. And is not the spoilage or DD, its another script.
I still use the mod, uninstalling and reinstalling. And the "player.kill" trick.
I hope one day that conflicting script is catched.

The only crash on save issue i have ever had was from old version (2.xx) of Frostfall
I just can't believe that this mod, which i am using for over 2 years now, with tremedously modded game and with almost all heavy scripted mods available, is crashing anyones game.
I think is it some serious compatibility issues you have there.
Also i don't want to be dick to newbies but they tend to call mods broken as they lack of knowledge in modding. And it is quite common in here.
      Have a nice day.

As I say: Its probably another mod conflict.
Its just 1 script. Its linked to the quest. (tested deletin 1 script after other with Resaver) And collide with some popular mod like Requiem or Dynamic Things.
Isoku mod its ok but also Hunting in Skyrim, for mention another with script collision, if that happen is crash fest.
My opinion differ with e22big in that this mod probably is not broken but have a problematic script IF you have certain non-identified mod.
Good night sir. I say good night!

It really doesn't matter if you believe it. Several people reported it, I myself did a whole lot of testing and was able to reproduce the crash 100% of the time with just this mod installed. No others aside from stability mods like crash fixes, enboost etc. It's not a conflict, it's an issue with the mod. I'll say it again, just because you yourself never had issues doesn't mean nobody else did. You can just go on google and type in "ineed crash on save" and you'll see dozens of people with the same issue. Stop fanboying.

Step 1: Play with mod until the save bug appears

Step 2: Crash every time you save past a certain point

Step 3: Disable and remove mod and clean files

Step 4: Enjoy the fact that you can save again.

I did this on 3 different saves all with varying amounts of mods. These 4 steps remained the same on all of them. I got rid of iNeed a while ago, (shocker, no save bug since) I'm not going to put several hours into another playthrough just to prove a point to someone who won't entertain the idea that a mod they love can have technical issues.

Still talking about this? :p :D
The bug appear again in a new playthroug, but this time I not did the player.kill thing.
I disable the mod in MCM and wait some time. Also I ask all followers to wait.
After few minutes I try save and it work.
I try to re-enable the mod and cant. It just disable again or UI dont show. After 5 game days doing other stuff I try enable again and this time work but takes lots time to load the UI the first time.
After that not a single problem, I left this char at level 60+ after solve most of the quest using 2 to 5 followers with followers needs active.
      Hope this help someone.
Again: Is not the mod, is a combination of mods. This mod is the most close to mi experience with Ultima 7

Does this mod also provide the ability to craft a bedroll? I can't find one for sale, and since it requires me to sleep, having to stay within distance of towns is very limiting.
