Young, innocent sounding female character. Custom voice has been completely populated but unfortunately still no lip sync for the custom option
Custom Voices installation tutorial I try to make some easy-to-follow steps thing everybody can follow to install custom voices.
Prepare the folders to install the custom files Find the folder in which the game is installed (search for TESV.exe or SkyrimLauncher.exe). By default, for Windows users, it should be something like C:\Program files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim. This one will be called ReferenceFolder in the following. If the mod is installed through NMM, there should be a CustomVoice subfolder in ReferenceFolder/Data/Sound/fx. If not - Get Player Voicesets - Main File - 51387 -x-x-x.7z (x-x-x for version numbers) by downloading the mod manually. - Open the .7z file (with something like 7-Zip File Manager) and copy / paste the Sound folder with its subfolders into ReferenceFolder/Data. - When asked for merging, say yes.
Get the tools to read the .bsa files and to transform .fuz in .wav orinocco provides a link to a small tutorial about this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEXpoMQ5b6A. All of it is working, but you'll need Eagle Eye perk to read the urls. So, here are the steps : a) Get FO3 Archive Utility here http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/34/? Manually download FO3 Archive Utility-34.zip Extract the files. FO3Archive.jar launches the utility which can open .bsa files. I think you can in fact use any .bsa archive reader. b) Download Python 2.7.6 here http://python.org/download/releases/2.7.6/ The installer is called python-2.7.6.amd64.msi if Windows x86. Execute it. Required for running the .py file got at step c). c) Download skyrimsound.zip here http://www.2shared.com/file/lRi-FmNh/skyrimsound.html Extract the files xWMAEncode.exe, convert_xwm_to_wav.bat and fuz2xwm.py If you already have something to convert .fuz to .wav, steps b) and c) aren't necessary. DJSHAFT69 talks about WavePad, but I didn't find the .fuz converter plugin. No doubt he'll tell us where to find it if he reads this. He adds : "Just make sure to keep the .wav at 44kps format as that is what the game uses by default." For .fuz converters : CS23X points to http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9797/?, itself leading to http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19242/?. ChizFoShiz indicates http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/473609-fuz-to-wav-converter/.
Open .bsa archive Use .bsa reader to open ReferenceFolder/Data/Skyrim - sounds.bsa if you want to get access to Skyrim voices. Extract the .fuz files somewhere.
Transform .fuz in .wav With the method explained in step 2., this is done as follows : - Copy / paste xWMAEncode.exe, convert_xwm_to_wav.bat and fuz2xwm.py in the same folder as the extracted .fuz files - Run fuz2xwm.py, then xwm_to_wav.bat - .fuz and .xwm files can be deleted For the other ones, follow the instructions given with them.
Put the .wav files in the relevant folders Listen to the .wav files, select those you want, rename them as revered ChizFoShiz tells in the Articles section. Put them in the relevant folder in the folder structure mentioned at step 1. For working with .wav files, ChizFoShiz uses Goldwave, CS23X uses Audacity and DJSHAFT69 uses WavePad.
Additional stuff CS23X gives us a link to extract the voice files from Borderlands 2 http://www.ladymoiraine.com/forum/index.php?topic=6449.0. Mahlzeit88 and AdenNeda provide a link to "Oblivion sound sets" http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/12588/? but the first one tells also he didn't get any response when asking to get permission to use the voice sets. EsperAngel says "Bloodrayne audio files are even already .wav". If you pick files from Skyrim - sounds.bsa (probably also from Dawnguard.bsa), the voices will be in the language chosen when installing the game. Good to know for non-english players.
It's a lot simpler to just use BSAopt to unpack the BSA and then use Unfuzer to unfuz the files, which converts them to wav files. It converts by folder, so for example if you want to unfuz all the female Khajiit files, then you would choose the entire folder and it will convert it in one go.
Unfuzer can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19242/?
It looks like a lot of work, but once you have the .bsa extractor and the .fuz to .wav converter (just follow the liknks), it's pretty easy. As said, the folders structure are in the .7z file (download it manually somewhere).
Note: If you are wanting to get the audio sounds for Borderlands 1, you will have to go through many more steps then the method for Borderlands 2.
The files you are looking for are located in Borderlands/WillowGame/CookedPC/Packages/Audio/VO
Depending on your language, pick the VO folder that has its abbreviation.
Make sure the .upk file is labeled "Insert Character/Enemy Name Here" WAV. So Liliths is called BTLD_Player_Lilith_WAV.upk
1. http://www.gildor.org/downloads Look at "Other Tools" and pick the first file.
Now simply drag the .upk files to the application "extract" and it will make a folder of the sound files. The sound files should be in SoundNodeWave format for which you will now have to extract the ogg files from. To do this, look at step 2.
2. http://moriya.ca/oggextract/Download the Binary file
Now do the same thing as step one. Drag the files that are SoundNodeWave to the application "oggextract" and it will create the ogg file which can be played/converted. Note that ONLY SoundNodeWave files can be used to extract ogg files using the extractor even though you will probably see more files with different extensions. Do not worry about the other files even though they look relevant because they should be covered in the SoundNodeWave files.
3. Converting the ogg Files to .wav.http://format-factory.en.softonic.com/
I personally use Format Factory as it's a free software and can covert SEVERAL media types from Video, Audio, Pictures, ROM files (CD's and DVD's), and others. Of course we want to choose Audio then select WAV. Just Select the folder that you have your ogg files in and select all the files, then click open. Make sure you designate your Output folder, usually I create a folder on the Desktop, so that you can easily find your files.
4. Pick the files you prefer for each category and Ctrl+C (Copy) and then Ctrl+V (Paste) them into the Custom Voice folder used by this Mod and rename them to the designated names provided in the ARTICLES Section listed on the Mod page (TAB beside the Description Page).
5. Enjoy! You have now wasted probably and hour or more of your time to enjoy this Mod with your Custom Borderlands 1 voices.....Seems like an even trade-off right?!?
I made a Dremora voice pack. I slapped it together, feels pretty badass with a variety, but I made it in an hour or two. Definately needs improvements here and there. I covered the important folders, but have no voices for 'Drink Potion, and Discover Ruins (or whatever)' http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52727/? Anyone is free to edit it and reupload (Would be appreciated if you put your version DL link as a comment on mine). 90% sure it's only me, but it ONLY seems to work on the Script Heavy Version of Voiceset mod. DL a Dremora mod and have some fun!
It would be amazing if players uploaded here their own custom voices (for instance if they made a voice set out of Batman´s voice) they could upload it here for other players to use
It cannot be uploaded on the nexus due to copyright reasons. The best way would be to make a forum topic on a site such as Loverslab for this mods custom voice option. Then you could post the DL link to your uploaded voice.
Just a side-note. You oughta avoid downloading applications from Softonic. They pack their software full of malware that gets installed secretly alongside the software itself.
Really? Well I've only ever downloaded once from them and I've used it for about 2 years and no problems. Then again, AVG kicks ass when it comes to virus baddies.
Just make sure you don't download any of the extra shiz they throw into the download.
