Hello, I need a very specific question answered in regards to making the SKSE.ini within "Mod Organizer 2" please.
Everyone always says to create and place the skse.ini in the "SKSE folder". Following either Gopher's or GamerPoets tutorials for modding, they show where this "SKSE Folder" is meant to be located in Skyrim's ORIGINAL file location, within its Data file.
However, what I can't seem to find ANYWHERE on the net... is how/where to locate/create the "SKSE folder" and "skse.ini" INSIDE Mod Organizer 2.
Due to the way Mod Organizer 2 works, it is my understanding that ABSOLUTELY nothing should ever be placed inside Skyrim's Original Data folder, but instead, placed within MO2's mod list, so that it's Virtual File structuring can handle the injection of mods into the game cleanly and without altering anything to do with the base game folder.
Trouble is, after attempting to install "skse" through all of it's installation options, I can confirm that it NEVER installs an internal "SKSE Folder" within its OWN Data directory, the true file structure of skse upon download and extraction is the following:
Data src skse_1_9_2_32.dll skse_docs.txt skse_loader.exe skse_papyrus_docs.txt skse_readme.txt skse_steam_loader.dll skse_whatsnew.txt
The above are the exact items downloaded upon acquiring them from the silverlock webpage.
Gopher, says to place the "skse_1_9_2_32.dll", "skse_loader.exe" and "skse_steam_loader.dll" just inside Skyrims directory but NOT in the Data folder... which I have followed as instructed.
So after placing said .exe and dll's in Skyrim's folder, all that is left to install is that "Data folder", which I install manually into MO2 as a new mod.
But all that is inside that Data folder is the "scripts" file, no sign anywhere of a pre-existing SKSE folder.
Which brings me to the very specific question I need answered once and for all.
Is this Data File ACTUALLY the SKSE file that needs to be renamed as such? and why does it not contain the "Plugins" folder that I see above the skse.ini in EVERY tutorial I witness?
Excuse the caps, but I feel I need to emphasize these points heavily, as I feel they are the center of all the confusion new aspiring modders have with installing skse, the things that people show on tutorials, and the things that are downloaded out of the box do not add up.
Every single person I watch says that you must "Create" the skse.ini, that's fine, but they always have a Plugins file above where they place that skse.ini which I can't find anywhere, and it certainly isn't located in the same folder as "scripts".
Can you see why this is so confusing? whether this skse.ini works or not rests on me putting it in the exact right location I can only assume, yet I cannot replicate the results of everyone else's file structure for reference, therefore I have no way of knowing if it's really doing anything or not.
Please explain this to the best of your ability, I appreciate the help.
Thank you so much, this fixed my Solstheim Infinite Load problem. Hopefully other people having trouble with Dragonborn Infinite Load when moving back and forth from Solstheim and Skyrim will find this.
In my MemoryBlocksLog.log file, there's the lines Block1 Block2 256MB256MB 858 859 8510
And so on. When both reach 256, the game CTDs. With DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768, Block1 should be 512MB, right? But no matter what number I put there, Block1 is always 256MB. Has anyone that commented here before faced this issue?
Edit: I've figured it out: https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/6726-common-ctds-freezes-ils-and-memory-issues/

Best regards.
My typical SKSE files are in the same folder as the game files to start Skyrim up.
I do not have SafetyLoad.ini nor the other Safety. I looked in the folder for them. So I dunno what to say.
I'd assume that you got things figured out.
I usually set the heap to 2048 for about 3-400 mods and some extra
Hopefully other people having trouble with Dragonborn Infinite Load when moving back and forth from Solstheim and Skyrim will find this.
