I thought this caused a problem, but didn't; Problem with the steady hand perk not working. But it was a cheat spell to unlock doors that messed my saves that opens any door. Beware of that spell, it could corrupt your character's perks!

I just wanna start off that I enjoy this mod very much especially the wizard arrows in their color and functionality, in concept. They're great for a spell thief especially one that uses destruction runes spells for traps and illusion, it really fits with my fantasy combined with more artifact bows "Spectre." a retextured silver and blue bow that glows like a bound weapon when drawn.

I do have an issue with the arrows though, I don't know if it's a hit box adjustment or the flying straight mechanic but if I try to shoot the arrows from high ground they end up in the ground slightly behind me. I don't know if an adjustment could be made or not or if this was already made aware. otherwise good mod.

Does the perks work with crossbows? If the answer's no, how do I modify the perks to get them to work with it?

Hey Dajemic, for some reason, say when Skyrim remastered comes out, I have to uninstall this. Is it possible to get all the perks I invested in your modified tree back? Would be nice if you could tell me a way to get it. Cause i really love this mod and I want to install this, but then there is remastered in 2 months.
Or do i have to just use the console to get the perks back?

Do you have the Legendary Edition of Skyrim? If so, when you max a skill to 100, you can make it legendary to reset it to 15, which refunds all the perks you have used in the entire skill tree.

Alternatively you could get a mod like DSR - Dragon Soul Relinquishment - which would allow you to trade Dragon Souls for perks.

Excellent excellent mod. My characters always play with a bow, even my magicians/spellbows. When I was a kid Robin Hood and William Tell were my heroes. I made myself a bow as a kid and would do what shooting I could in a cramped suburban backyard. I have not used an archery perk overhaul mod yet, though I do have such essentials as the no ninja AI dodge mod and mesh replacers to make some of the arrows look less like fishing arrows. This mod is going to be a permanent part of my load order now though. These perks make sense, and are done well.

A few suggestions, just in case you are still developing this mod. The perk stars on the perk tree would be better placed above and to the right of the vanilla perks, in a straight line where the arrow is in the constellation. Simply for aesthetics. Also the wizard arrows should be a power so that you can already have a bow in hand when you activate it. It would be nice to have wizard bolts also. I did not test to see if the melee damage was applied to the crossbows as well, but if not this would be good.

Again, excellent work! For my own use I will probably replace the arrow meshes with something pointier.

Update: Just got the Forceful Bash mod and a mod that replaces the bow melee with a front kick. Bow melee does serious damage and knockdown now...

Hello. I've been looking for a mod kind of like this. I used and loved Skyre, but I'm taking a break from a big overhaul. I've been looking at different combat perk mods for a mod to change archery, but most do what Skyre also did and split the bow into types.

So a mod just to kind of spice up vanilla tree is awesome.

I just got one request. If you can add some kind of perk for a magical archer.

Sperg added ethereal arrows, but I don't like a lot of other things it did. And Skyre had a perk in enchanting, which was cool but weirdly placed there, to shot spells with arrows.

I know this is a selfish request, I love this perk change for archery so I'll use it either way, it's a nice change.

I was just wondering if this was possible.

Sorry if this is rude in any way.

That isn't rude at all. I'm not really sure what you're asking though, what did you have in mind?

I don't know what kind of modding you can do.

I'm requesting just a side perk of some sort that incorporates magic or a magic skill. Like the two examples I gave. Not like exactly that, but as examples.

SPERG made ethereal arrows you shot if you didn't have arrows equipped that took mana to shot and were strong based off conjuration and bound perks.

I'm not picky, any kind of perk that kind of works for a magical archer.

Cause in vanilla the only choise you have is the bound bow itself, but I like using different bows.

      If that makes sense.

Hmm a perk that would add bound arrows( or another type if custom made) to be used with any bow. That seems like it would fit best in the conjuration perk tree, at about the 40-60 skill requirement. Maybe as a new branch to bound weapons line.

Ah true, maybe it's out of the scope of this mod, sorry.

I would mod something above myself into the conjuration tree if I could.

Okay so I originally wanted to do something where you can conjure temporary arrows from the perk. After reading your comments, I managed to make a perk that adds a conjuration spell for summoning arrows without the bow. The arrows are really fast, anti-gravity, and look like red Bound Arrows. Their base damage is really low, but they have a bonus damage that scales with magic skills. Currently the value is calculated as 4 + (Alteration + Destruction + Restoration + Conjuration + Enchanting + Illusion)/20. I might call them "Energy Arrows" or "Wizard Arrows" or something like that.

What do you guys think? I'm open to suggestions.

I spoke too soon. Thank you very much for looking into this for me!

I think that one, it should link to the bound perks, so it rewards the mage archer for going into that tree and spending perks. Maybe?

I think itll be cool to be unaffected by gravity.

Now there's a few ways to do the damage, other than linking to the bound perks, and that is conjuration skill. Cause I think in the game, bows raise in damage by the archery skill (I could be wrong) but arrows stay normal no matter want. Since the magical archer only uses these arrows, then it can raise by conjuration level, 100 being equal to the highest arrow you can smith. Maybe? A little more if you also perk it.

This is taking an idea from the mod. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50129/? that also came out today.

but maybe the perk can have ranks, and each rank can unlock a elemental arrow set. different spells, so first rank could be the normal spell, then a fire arrow spell and so on.

I dont know much about scaling. Would it become overpowered if you have all the magic at like 75?

Well, consider how much damage an expert-level destruction spell can do once you're at 75 destruction. Maybe I could scale the factor down from .05 to .04, that might make it a bit more fair.

I'm not sure if i missed it but which skill does the arrows scale with? conjuration or destruction or what? it was never really specified, i would assume conjuration because thats what it is but just wanted to make sure.

I definitely like this mod, but, if you're still accepting changes, can you make it so that when 'Wizard Arrows' times out, regular arrows automatically equip? Like how one kind of arrow equips after you run out of another.
