I think thats not what he meant. I think he wanted to ask if they can be added as standalone masks, not retextures of the ones added by face masks of skyrim. I would like the idea too.
I wish he explained it properly as to why he wants a stand-alone version. Generally one of the biggest stumbling blocks to modding is Bethesda's policies regarding in-game assets and their refusal that they cannot be ported to any game or even from a DLC to the core game itself.
You have to overwrite the textures manually. Or if you're using MO as I do, right click on the original mod on the mod list, then Explore, which will open the directory containing the mod; open the RAR file, select, click and drag the contents to the directory.
