This mod prevents the "psychic combat music" from starting. And as backtrace said, regular nusic continues to play (if it is already playing) during combat.
There are different styles of music that play during the game. The music classed as COMBAT music will not play. If regular background music is currently playing, it will continue to play during and after combat.

I'm playing with Requiem and several more Immersion mods, but the combat music was ruining the game.
