This is awesome and it feels like it should have been a thing in the original game/lore. It'd have been so cool to see Potema flee here instead.

"In Potema's time... there was a city near Solitude, where resistance to her reign of terror was gathering, and she... did THIS to them."

In my headcanon that's exactly why this city is a thing. I figure she only didn't flee to here instead of the Solitude Catacombs because this place was sealed away and harder to access with her diminished power or somethin' like that.

Either way, good stuff. Mods like this contribute a lot of atmosphere to Skyrim

This was a really fun mod once I figured it out, but if you're checking the comments down here than you're probably as lost as I was. And it was really frustrating seeing so many people asking the same questions as me and no one being able to point them in the right direction. So without doing too many spoilers, here's what you need to kn mod:First, when I say beat I mean get back to the surface. This is by far the largest city that I have seen in any mods that I've played so far, so there's plenty of other things that you can do, but I'm just going to focus on getting you back outside. The first thing that you should know is that keys are the most important thing for you to find. The second most important are letters because they tell you where to find the keys. All keys and letters are outside of bookshelves and chests, sometimes they're on tables or desks, sometimes they're more hidden. All of them are inside of buildings, you won't have to look inside any of the ruins. I'll go through where to get them later, but you need these keys in order to escape:Library KeyNorth Gate KeyGaran's Vault KeySadrii's Vault KeyGuildhouse Security KeyGuildhouse KeyMidden Gate KeyMines Gate KeyMine Surface Gate KeyThere are other sections in the city that need keys, for example the High Mage's Tower needs the High Mage's Tower Key and High Mage's Oubliette Key, and the Jordik Palace needs the Jordik Palace Gate Key and Jordik Palace Key. But you don't need these in order to escape, they're more of side quests.Without spoiling too much, the entire city is under a curse because the High Mage of the city went mad and turned everyone undead. He locked all the doors to get out and destroyed whatever keys he could. If you want to learn more check out the different homes for more letters. There are several sections to the Dead City, and all but one section is blocked off from the others with a gate locked with a key. You need to find the keys to unlock the different gates so that you can find the keys for the city's mine, it's the only way out. The mod has put up invisible barriers above gates and walls almost up to the cavern ceiling, so unless you can fly you won't be able to get around the gates.Special thanks to DoctorBlue99 from Reddit for these first few steps. He has more information on the High Mage's Tower if that's what interests you.So you fall down into the large body of water and make your way to shore. You'll go through some woods with an abandoned campsite, ruined house, and several bears. Immediately before you enter the city through the main gate there is a skeleton body stuck in the ground with a book and his name is Rubiv. It can be hard to see him so use the Detect Dead spell if you're having trouble. He tells you to go to the library and that there's a way out through the mines but he never found the keys. To get to this library there's a fair bit of wandering around but you have to find "Robank Manor" (spelling?) and that will take you through to another section of town that holds the library.Enter the library and under "Thief of Virtue" a book sitting on a nearby window sill, is the library key. If for some reason you can't find the key there's a backup key in Maugriim's house, you'll have to wander around to find it. Apparently he's been stealing books to sell on the side from the library. Use this key to enter the attic area where you fight a dragon priest and collect the North Gate Key.Go back through Robank Manor and find the North gate. After you unlock it you'll be able to access most of the city. Next is the hardest part. The Thieves Guild were working on copies of the keys you need before they got turned into mindless undead. You need to find the homes of two Thieves Guild members, Garan and Sadrii, and get their vault keys. Next go to a shop called The Old Lock and Key. There's a trapdoor down to the Thieves Guild hideout inside. Once inside, look around the crates for Guildhouse Security Key, it will open the black metal doors on your right. Smash the undead Guild members and check the rooms to find the Guildhouse Key. Use it to open locked doors inside the hideout. The hideout kind of goes in a U-shape, at the other side of the U you will use the two vault keys to get into the Guild treasure room and get the key copies. You only need the Midden Gate Key and the Mine Surface Gate Key, but if you're interested in exploring the palace take that gate key as well. Now all you need is the key to the gates to get into the Mines. Unfortunately for you, someone borrowed both extra copies of the key and took them home, her name was Alugana. Both copies are on her table bench in her farmhouse just outside the palace gate, so you'll need to find your way to the Midden Gate and unlock it to get there. From the Midden Gate just head to the Palace Gate and it'll be the last house on the right. If you're done exploring then go back through the Midden Gate and back through the North Gate from earlier. You'll find the gate for the mines there, open them and go into the mines. The mines themselves can be a little tricky because the tunnels cross over and under each other, but in general stick to taking the right tunnels when the tunnel forks and you'll get out pretty quickly. Use the Mine Surface Gate Key on the last door and you can go out the door you came in to Skyrim. The hardest thing about this mod is the sheer number of houses and named undead that you have to contend with, unless you're much better with directions than me you will need to wander around to find all of these places. In case you were curious, the High Mage's Tower is set up as a test for a lady named Matze he was planning on taking on as an apprentice before he went nuts. Her house is one of the first ones you'll find when you enter the city, you'll find a key to the Tower I'm her house. Inside the tower there's no enemies but each floor has a riddle you need to solve to go upwards. They're not too hard, but the last one seems to be bugged for a lot of people because the colored balls you're supposed to choose from are invisible and I could never find them. (Apparently the correct color is yellow though.) The final door needs the High Mage's Oubliette Key, which I could only find inside the Palace, but it just opens to a balcony with nothing special on it. There's also supposed to be ten Golden eggs that the High Mage hid around the city as well, but they're bugged for me too and I could only find one in a chest at the top of the tower. If you're looking to take your frustrations out on something from all the times you got lost then head to the Palace, the High Mage who cause all this mess is right next to the kitchens, it was kind of an anticlimactic fight though. The King is down in the very bottom of the Palace catacombs for you to fight though, he has some drauger guards scattered along the way but nothing to special in terms of loot.

Thanks for the guidance. I have 2 suggestions. Please make your comment in several medium paragraphs instead of single one. And just post the guide in the forum.
