As far as design and layout, alterations and inclusions are concerned... this is the more preferable rendition of an upgraded Arch-Mages Quarters on Nexus. But for the fact that the new (much needed) kitchen in the Hall of Attainment has flickering floor tiles, and the Arch-Mages Quarters has flickering stone walls after your modifications were made- I cannot tolerate it as it currently is. I sincerely hope you can solve this lighting issue. With the exception of a centrally located butter churn, this has potential.

P.S.- I tested the mannequin-free version, because I hate mannequins. If you amended these irritating lighting issues with your latest version, please state as much.
Hey There! This mod looks great! I have a question though before I download it. Did you take out that horrible wind/cavern sound that you get in the archmage quarters? If not, could you? Thanks in advance!
The fact that you still have a copy of the pre-mannequin mod is an automatic endorsement (whether or not it ctd'ed the moment I come within a hundred miles of Winterhold which thankfully it doesn't). I find the overload of trophy displays in most house mods annoying as all hell. I also like that this keeps all the good things of the archmage's chambers instead of removing the elements that made it somewhat unique to turn it into warlord's house #9000: Blue-filtered Winterhold edition.
Thanks for the endorsement, I'm glad you like it and I share your sentiment about display cases and going overboard on that sort of thing. Keeping as much as possible the original feel of the place was one of my goals. Have a look also at my latest mod on the Nexus: "Island Hobbit Home" If you like this mod you will probably enjoy the Hobbit Home as well. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50685/? Cheers
I have just uploaded a new version of this mod responding to some requests (Merry Christmas derkesthai ) and making some more detailing changes. Check out the new screen shots and I hope you all like it. The mod is pretty much where I personally like it to be for my own use and I have no further development plans. Let me know about any problems you encounter. A word on updating your file; it should be a simple matter of installing 1.3 with NMM, un-checking the old and checking the new version. However it is best your char is not in the Archmage Quarters when you do this! Loading a save that was created inside the Archmage Quarters and possibly the interior of the College, can result in some new activators not working! I experienced this in my own game; if your most recent save was inside the Archmage Quarter then you probably have to go to a previous save outside it to make all the new features work right.
Well merry christmas to you too I love what you did to the place
I found two minor issues though: * I'm using the "Alchemy Ingedient Storage" mod, which adds convenient storage to every (player-owned, I think, or maybe at some specific places) alchemy table. If you don't have this mod you should try it Anyway, your satchel placement conflicts with the placement of a satchel of that mod. I can still access it by clicking in the right spot, but it looks funny * The bookcases reset; I could easily remedy this by getting all the stuff from them before doing the upgrade.
So no big issues, just something to keep in mind.
Thansk for the hard work! Now go have hot chocolate and eat candy canes!
Hi I'd love to try this, but when I activate mod it will CTD upon loading the main menu. I put it last in my load order. Am I missing a dependency?
EDIT: I just saw the requirements.. I don't have Hearthfire installed so that might be the issue? EDIT2: Installing Hearthfire didn't help EDIT3: Wait! It did, so yay!
EDIT4: So this looks nice! Would be cool if you could cram 1 or 2 mannequins somewhere
I am glad you figured it out and that you like the mod. I am not a big fan of mannequins and wanted to keep it simple. That is why there are just some standing weapon racks for staffs. On the other hand the entry hall is somewhat bare... I will consider it if maybe more requests come in. Cheers
Oh! Some storage next to the enchanter might be useful! Right now I'm using the nearest bookcase... And maybe add a few torches on the wall in the entry?
I wanted to try your mod since the first day, but didn't have a reason to go check out the college until yesterday. And I have to say I really like the redesign. It feels more homey now, like a place you would actually live and use. Good job!
Funny thing, I had a mod installed that too made changes to the exact same room as your kitchen. So when these two mods tried to fight it out with each other it resulted on a rather unique design of the room. Nothing serious, just furniture was placed on top of each other and it took me a few seconds to find out what happened there.
Anyway, nice and well working mod, you have my endorsement
Sure thing, the other mod was Spell Crafting for Skyrim by TaiChiKid. His Altar of Spells is in the same room and it was still usable, even if it was partially covered with the cooking pot http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33598/?
Thank you all for the nice comments, I am glad you like the mod. I do not use any ENB, what I am using in this set up that affects the lighting is Climates of Tamriel 3.1 with the warm Interiors patch enabled. Then I use Realistic Lighting Overhaul 4.0.7c with its Major Citiy Interiors patch enabled. I realize there are newer versions of these available and I use them in another Skyrim install on another drive, but I actually like the look of the game with these older versions better, not sure what the difference is. As the saying goes "if it ain't broke..." As for textures, what you see in these screens are textures from the official 3 HighRes texture packs, no other custom textures are used. After reading allot about ENB's and HD textures and how they can affect everything from FPS to CTD, I choose carefully what my machine can handle and still achieve the look I want. COT and RLO have always given me the most natural looking colors and lighting. Hope this helps.
The pictures are looking so sharp and real that I thought it has to be an ENB The only thing now I'm missing is RLO 4.0.7c. If it looks everywhere like this in the game, then I'll only use the ENBBoost for the RAM & VRAM.
You are welcome and endorsements would be appreciated! The ArchMages Quarters are not even the best example of what Realistic Lighting Overhaul does for interiors. In some places like Taverns when the evening light filters in through the smoke and mingles with the fire glow, it is positively breathtaking. You owe it to yourself to try it out, and like I said there is a newer version of it.

Can you tell me what other mod is using the same room as Mages Kitchen?
