All good :) I was just thinking it would be good to make it possible for the player to acquire the castle and thus make the beds "owned" by the player for the 10% well rested buff. It would also make Housecarls and other followers naturally want to stay there. Not a big deal, but could be nice for future projects :)
A very nice mod, but sadly doesn't work well for me. Some paintings in the main hall have purple textures (missing I guess) and so do banners. I checked whether I've put the folder in the appropriate locations and it seems fine. Anyway, great job! Endorsed.
I've only recently discovered what my problems have been for paintings and meshes. I really must go back to tidying this file up, thank you for your patronage!
You're more than welcome, I'm happy to be of any assistance I can provide as a humble user. And thank you so much for your reply. Your mods are ones of the best and original house mods I've ever seen, both strikingly beautiful and tiny in space, running well even on my potato laptop, so I'm happy to see that you check on comments and troubleshooting, that's very kind of you. I really love this mod, its looks and the atmosphere. I love castles, and I don't get enough of those in Skyrim. Castle Volkihar is nice, but since I've sided with Dawnguard, that's not an option for me.) I also like your original ideas very much, for example the main hall and that painting with some painting tools on the small table on the second pic (haven't found it in-game yet, haven't visited all areas of the place, but I will). Looking forward to the update.
Very nice castle indeed. You must have spent quite a lot of time making it and it shows. One question, though : where is the smelter ? Everyone seems to forget to put a bloody smelter in their homes !
This is a very nice castle. I like the desolate feel, and the amount of clutter/decorations/racks/storage chests/etc fits what I want. Not excessive (I do collect items extensively, whether vanilla items or mod-added items, but I don't want to display everything) but enough for what I want. Needs more views and more endorsements!
One thing I noticed that doesn't seem to have been mentioned, though: some parts of the stone floor on the tower's second floor seem to be... I don't know, buggy, or maybe not. It's like, if you (or your followers) stand on them, they shake up and down as if there were an earthquake. Screenshot here: http://i.imgur.com/eN50U3A.jpg
As you can see, my character's legs sink into the floor (I used "tfc 1" and "tm" so I could stop the shaking and show you when her legs are sinking). Followers can still pass through the shaky area just fine, though, so it's not a biggie. Just thought I'd let you know.
I haven't fully explored the crypt yet (was surprised to see dozens of undead thanks to my increased spawns and I wanted to safely drop off my items first); I'll let you know if I see anymore problems. Otherwise, great mod, I really like the placement.
Ah dear, that's quite shocking, that tower problem. It might have to do with the tower cells being resized. >_> Hm. I'll have to look into that.
Still, thank you very much for checking it out! I'm glad you like it. Thank you for an Imgur post too, I wouldn't mind sharing profiles. Been working on a less desolate place using the expansions. ... although I still need to work on Hearthfire codes. Ah well. Thank you again!
Overall, fantastic castle. Though I have spotted a few issues.
Going into the dining area, the mannequins moved... like NPCs.. they made a "dropping" animation and walked to their correct positions. This scared the living sh*t out me, and i almost shouted from the loud sound of the "drop"!
Right before I made my way down the wooden steps of the crypt, there is a large gap that separates from the platform you stand on upon entering, to the winding steps you go down (i can PM you a screenshot) it caused my companion and I to get stuck. I had to "tcl" to get out.
One last thing, albeit minor, when i made it to the shallow water pool area in the crypt, I noticed big texture squares of the fog above the water (PM/screenshot)
But all in all, this is my favorite player home mod! Great job on all the design choices. Even the placement of the clutter & food is well placed and creative.
Thank you very much for all of that! But oh my, goodness, those are some big issues. I don't know how exactly to solve the mannequin issues except they snap into appropriate positions after a save or two, maybe... I've actually never encountered that personally more than once, in Hjerim. That wood platform gap is a heck of an issue, I'll hope to remedy it soon.
Screenshots would be great, I'd like to get this piece done as well as I can.
I'm pretty sure that's just the infamous vanilla mannequin bug whereby mannequins basically come alive for a brief moment before they get back to being inanimate. If I'm not mistaken, by the in-game data, mannequins are actually NPCs... something that does lend credence to the notion that they were once mortals who got soul-trapped, or something.
I've also experienced that bug a couple times; in another house mod I tried, a dozen or so of mannequins came alive and actually stared at me before they... walked away to their own positions and stopped moving! Hahaha!
In any case, you may want to give this a try (and shower the author with lots of love): http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10652/
I like the concept behind this mod, I did actually download it and took a look around. Seems like it would be just the type of "abandoned" castle one would find after the Great War and now during the Civil unrest. But alas, I have children and I must have a place for them to stay with me. I'm sticking with my Dovahkiin Palace and Proudspire Enhanced mods for family living. I can see where some would really like this mod, the lone Dragonborn who has no one because they need no one. Nicely done, just not for me at this time. Keep up the good work! Ciao! *HUGS*
I like this home very much. If you do more work on it 2 things I would add, a chest out by the forge to store crafting material and display cases that we can place items in.
Love this house you made, great location. Not a fan of the house river, kept falling in it, and trying to move around with followers, forget it. There's a few little bugs for lack of a better term, there's a floating bush up high next to the top of the manor peak, the staircase for the wood guard tower next to the entrance led straight into the face of the stone wall, and funny thing, a Hunter Npc has set up camp in the middle of the courtyard. I guess this place isn't so desolate as i though. Everything else is perfectly fine.
The hunter is on purpose, the wood guard tower though ... Yeah, I could fix that, wasn't meant to really be used, but I should've kept an eye on it. XD The BUSH on the other hand, silly me! I wonder if I made the main hall bigger that river wouldn't be such a big deal. Hm. Small things to work on, thank you.

Are you still maintaining this mod at all / open to a suggestion?
Thanks again!
only 3 problems i have.
1. in the tower theres a piece of the wall that doesn't align up leaving a small blue line visible at a certain angle
2. the water surrounding the castle is solid, allowing me to essentially walk on it, even tho the waters plenty deep
and 3. need more mannequins and weapon racks maybe, be nice to display a bit more then display cases
other then that, its perfect

Looking forward to what you'll make next, then!
