Anybody still doing this? Found the mod in an MXR review, and starting a new game to make sure I get my mods sorted out right (for REAL, THIS time :P) inspired me to start "journaling". Going to try to put it up at AO3. :)

So happy I found this thread! I was about to start one but I'm glad I get to share and read everyone else's great stories. My character is Lurgash, an orc. He's a pretty eloquent but also a little informal. I did some editing and corrections on the text export, and expanded on it because of the text limit.

I noticed how great mods such as Arthmoor's Alternate start, Chesko's Frostfall and Isoku's Ineed really enhance the experience and I actually accounted for them in my journal. Here you go:

    A picture of Lurgash.

    ---Last Seed, 12th, 4E 201---
I've been tasked with investigating the dwarven ruins of Alftand. An idependent expedition had gone there and some anonymous parties are interested in their progress. No gold up front this time; given the danger of the job they don't want anyone taking the first half and leaving, nor can they split the pay for a group of sellswords. I really don't have a lot of options for gold now. This is my best bet for a payout.

I have about five days to investigate and meet up with one of their agents in Winterhold. If I don't meet him inside of the five days, they'll assume I'm dead and that'll be the end of it. I'm fully rested and stocked with supplies, so I better get started.

    ---Last Seed, 17th, 4E 201---
I was attacked by brigands and was knocked out in the struggle while looking at what remains of the camp. It looked like it had been ripped apart by the storm, some poor souls weren't fortunate to get out of it. I came too and fortunately they didn't take anything valuable. I guess I gave them a good fight.

The weather is too much to bear so I'll be taking refuge in one of the dwarven towers near Alftand. Hopefully I can find something useful, or at least plan my next step... I'm well past the deadline to meet the agent, so I may as well look through the ruins myself.

    ---Last Seed, 17th, 4E 201---
I dispatched some dwarven automata within the ruins. They were small spider-like machines that fought as if living. They weren't too difficult, though I fear there may be more formidable machines within Alftand. There was a great deal of dwaven scrap and precious metal laying about and I stashed it within the second stairwell of the tower. The machinery still works in this place; hard to believe it's been abandoned this long. I cant stay here because I have no means to prepare food, to say nothing of the tower's remaining defenses. There is a lighthouse near here, hopefully I can barter lodging and fresh supplies with the caretaker. I just need to reach it first...

    ---Last Seed, 17th, 4E 201---
My luck doesn't appear to be improving. I reached the lighthouse safely, but I found one of the owners, a woman, dead along with a creature that makes a troll appear pretty. There are strange noises coming from the cellar, more creatures I think. What are these things? There's no sign of anyone else, according to the journals I found there are at least three others who live here. The father and two children, a brother and sister. The boy had apparently decided to leave and it seems the girl went after him. Hopefully they are spared this sight, and I can find their father beneath the lighthouse before it's too late...

    ---Last Seed, 18th, 4E 201---
Whatever these things are, they're tough. They look like a hellgrammite, an insect I've seen used as fish bait. Very ugly with a nasty bite. Those turn into a slow, harmless flyer. I'd wager I'd hate to see what these turn into...

The amount of blood in the cellar is not a good sign. I've also found a couple of strange weapons left in the tower and cellar. They look as if they are made of the giant insect's shells. Something else is down here which has need of man-made supplies and is able to command these creatures. What have I gotten myself into?

    ---Last Seed, 18th, 4E 201---
I've rested and I plan to enter the icy caverns beneath Frostflow Lighthouse. Something is down here and it needs to be dealt with. Perhaps the Jarl of this hold would be willing to reward my efforts? I'll need to survive, of course. I can't let the glint of gold get in my eyes.

    ---Last Seed, 18th, 4E 201---
The stench is almost overpowering down here. I've come face to face with the creatures masters, now. I caught it by surprise and it seemed to be a magic user, but had no time to employ any witchery. It was still a fierce thing that did did not lay idly for it's doom. It carried a staff made of shell, this would probably be of interest to a mage.

I believe I know what these are, now. I've heard tales of the Falmer, twisted gangrel creatures that were once like elves, that come to the surface to take captives and tame giant insects called Chaurus for battle. Their weapons are fashioned out of the Chaurus' shell, either from the dead war-beasts or if they are also bred as cattle, I cannot say.

I have found Mani, the son living in Frostflow Lighthouse. His body was laid at a crude altar impaled with a Falmer blade. If he's here, then it's likely his sister and father are down here too. I have to find them.

For what it's worth, I used this mod to keep track of my last LAL play-through of Skyrim and wrote a story from it, often using exact passages from the exports I regularly made from the menu. I think it's about 170,000 words, give or take, and I post once a week. First chapter is up, second one goes up this week. There's no way I could put all of that here in posts.

If anyone is interested, you can find "Yvara" at AO3. It does start off slowly.

So I have started again (at last).

This is for my new character which is a forsworn member and their experiences. Will update as I add more to it.

    Aura's Journal

    ---Sun's Height, 9th, 4E 176---

To day Arrel and Sophia told me they had found a great place to explore in the city. They lead me down by the water side below the blacksmiths. In the wall there was a small hole, inside there was a tunnel that we had to crawl along.

I followed them down and it opened up into a cave that was quite big. There were these glowing rocks and mushrooms. There were a bunch of other tunnels that went somewhere and a small stream running through one of them.

We explored as much as we could and found the tunnel that had the water lead to a exit that was over looking a small lake.

    ---Sun's Height, 12th, 4E 176---

I heard Mother and one of her friends taking. There are some bad people going to try and take our home. Mother says we should be safe because the city walls have never fallen.

Sophia and Arrel came again today. We went back to the caves. We had been adding stuff in like some chairs, sleeping rolls and other things.

We will be sleeping here for the night. It will be the first time I have slept away from home. Its really exciting. Sophia is calling me. I'll write the rest later.

    ---Sun's Height, 14th, 4E 176---

Their gone. Everyone is gone. Only Sophia, Arrel and myself are alive. I cannot believe everone is dead. Arrel is telling me we need to keep moving or they will find us. I'll write later.

    ---Sun's Height, 22nd, 4E 176---

We were running for about a week. We had to steal some food from a couple of farms we passed.

We went towards the mountains to the east and found a cave. Outside there was one of mother friends, the one that told her that someone was going to attack the city. When she saw me she was surprised and overjoyed that we had survived.

She took us into the cave and made sure our bellies were filled and we were looked after. When she asked how we survived we told her about the tunnel and the cave.

According to her nobody else survived the attack. She offered to let us tay here with her and learn about our herra.. herror.. heritage.

    ---Second Seed, 16th, 4E 186---

It has been some time since I last wrote in here. our mothers friend who we found out was called Matheld taught us how to survive in the wilderness. We also learnt archery, combat and also other skills sich as cooking, hunting and alchemy.

I found it easier to learn archery, and 1 handed skills than the alchemy. I also found that I had a little skill in magic when i accendently summoned a skeleton. The other People here were not happy about it so I would usually sneak out the cave at night and practice under the moonlight untill my magic reserves were gone.

Sophia and Marris are doing well. We are still close friends and we are one of the best groups at raiding caravans. It helps that they each also have some skills in magic. Believe it or not but Sophia is actually pretty good at illusion and Marris is good at healing.

No matter how well we are doing with the tribe here we still miss our parents and other friends...

    In response to post #11417978.

Probably the most detailed description of the beginning in Helgen so far!
If you keep writing like that you will have reached the 612 page limit once you reach Riverwood

    thanks

My writing still has much to improve but I happily spent about 3 hours straight writing that out. Unfortunately I lost my game when I got a new computer so I am going to have to start again.

Its probably the best piece of writing I have ever done before.

Notes: The Apprentice J'zargo & Arch-Mage Savos Aren
    By Fyrre Direnni

    ---Last Seed, 20th, 4E 201--- 15:40
I've finally returned to the College of Winterhold in order to make our report on Saarthal. I found myself sprinting with renewed energy at the entrance to the College. Passing gruff old Sergius Turrianus without a greeting. Rushing over and slamming open the huge double doors, I had entered the Hall of the Elements and began headed straight toward the Arch-Mage's Quarters. Only I found myself stopped by one of the other apprentices. A Khajiit* wearing robes and a leather hood. While not very tall or strong of arm, his eyes were of an exotic coloration and deeply imposing in the dimly lit room, amidst the hues of his purple and blue orbs glittered a longing for secrets and a deep-seated love of mischief. I unconsciously put a hand over my coin purse.

He introduced himself to me as J'zargo, saying "This one has heard you found some... thing in Saarthal. You think it will help J'zargo become a powerful mage?" I steeled my gaze and remained silent, remembering the orders of secrecy from Tolfdir. Possessing neither the time nor the patience to deal with this, I turned around to leave but to my surprise he called out, stopping me. "It is difficult to admit, but J'zargo could use some help." Turning around to face him, he asked me to try out some unique flame cloak scrolls he had created for use against the undead. I agreed in order to hurry on with my task quickly. It was only after climbing up the steps to the Arch-Mage's Quarters, that I stopped to ponder this apprentice. I was shocked to find myself admiring his blatant ambition*. None of the other students had yet dared to approach me after Saarthal and none had bothered trying to craft their own spells. It seems this J'zargo has some potential after all.

*I must remember to watch my pockets around this one!
*I had better keep a closer eye on him in the future.

    ---Last Seed, 20th, 4E 201--- 16:21
Having entered the Arch-Mage's Quarters, I found Savos Aren sitting quietly in a chair reading a copy of "An Imperial Report On Saarthal by Heseph Chirirnis". I knew the book on sight, because I had purchased a copy of it from Urag gro-Shub in the Arcanaeum earlier*. It is actually quite the book, detailing the noteworthy differences in architectural styles and varying masonry amidst the ruins of Saarthal. Most curious is the authors conjecture that the Snow Elves initial assault on Saarthal was unrelated to any known defense points. I can only assume this is because the Snow Elves somehow knew that the Eye of Magnus lay within. An intriguing idea for sure, but theory aside, the impatient and perpetually bored Arch-Mage handed me a measly enchanted ring as a token of "his thanks" for my efforts and cast me off to go research the Eye of Magnus for myself. It is extremely evident he does not think having to get up and go to Saarthal himself is worth the effort. While I know that our efforts are being treated as less than groundbreaking, I can only feel as though what we are doing is noteworthy and hope through my efforts and time, he will be proven wrong.
Tomorrow I will make an effort to seek out Urag gro-Shub in the Arcanaeum, in order to hopefully find books relating to the Eye. If not I may have to search elsewhere. I have quite the extensive library back in my room at Frozen Hearth Inn, perhaps I can find a reference there. Also I must remember to brush up on the Psijics, if what Norien said is true, every ounce of information could be life altering when the time comes. For now though I plan on returning to the Inn and eating a hot meal and taking a much needed rest. I can't believe I still reek of draugr*. Perhaps a bath first would be a better choice.

*Prior to my investigations into Saarthal
*Must have my robes mended at a tailor. Also figure out a way to remove bloodstains.

I know my writing "style" is a bit scrubby and unrefined, but here's my go at this:

    Hrafkeg's Journal

    ---Last Seed, 18th, 4E 201, Riverwood---
I have decided to begin a journal to record my thoughts while I am in this land. It might be a while until I can go back to Dragonstar, and I think it to be a good idea to have a place where I can write about my journey and also a place where I can leave reminders for myself.

I think the best starting point for this journal is my first moments in Skyrim. And it is not a boring story. Actually it is very interesting, if not worrying.

I was on the caravan that I was with since I left Dragonstar on my way to Solitude. When I first came here, my plan was to go to Solitude in search for work. Now, I am not sure anymore. As we approached a place called Darkwater Crossing, we found ourselves in the middle of a small, but confusing battle. In the midst of all the confusion, our caravan got attacked and a few strayed arrows killed two of the Khajiit traders, Tasrin and Za'med. The rest of them (Mogh, Faahin and a young one called Ombar or something like that) escaped in the night and I was captured. I do not blame them for escaping when they had the chance, especially because of what would happen next. I did not try to escape since, of course, I do not possess the stealth and swiftness of the Khajiit, so I just surrendered myself hoping the attackers would realise that I was just a traveller. I noticed that the winning side were soldiers of the Legion so I hoped they would be rational.

Unfortunatly, they ignored everything I told them and just threw me in with the rest of the prisoners. I was laying tied on the ground (guarded by two legionnaires) for at least two hours (or it seemed to be that long), and then they loaded me up with the rest of the prisoners (most of who were wearing blue cloth on their armour) on a few carriages. There was a great commotion during the beginning of the journey but I was quite tired and soon I fell asleep.

After I woken up and came to my senses I realised what was happening. On my carriage were three other prisoners, all three of them Nords. Two of them were clearly uniformed and the third one claimed that he had nothing to do with the whole thing. Another bystander, just like myself and my Khajiit companions.

Soon, the fair haired Nord infront of me told me that the man sitting right to me was Ulfric Stormcloak, the leader of their rebellion. I didn't hear much about Ulfric before that. Some news and rumors back in Hammerfell, but I did not pay much attention. This leader person also had his mouth tied, which I thought was odd. Later I heard how he shouted the king of Skyrim to death, but I'm not yet sure what that was all about.

Anyway, the third Nord (forgot his name, though he mentioned it) became very worried when he found out who the mouth-tied man was. And his worry made a lot of sense. If the prisoners are the leader of the rebellion himself and his most loyal men, where are they taking us?

We soon approached the heavily fortified town called Helgen, and inside we saw the leader of the Legion in Skyrim, General Tullius, talking with some Thalmor. The rebel Nord appeared to be very angry when he saw that, and I can make a pretty good guess why. I guess one of the things that connects Redguards with Nords is our common hatred of the Thalmor.

All of the prisoners, including me, were unloaded and were queued up infront of two Imperials that were checking their lists and making some sort of log. The Nord said something like "Imperials do love their lists." And he was right. Very much so.

That is when I noticed the executioner standing to our left. I started getting quite panicky, but I still thought they will realise I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. I was not on their list, surely. The horse-thief tried to make a run for it but was killed by archers... They could have easily captured him alive, the place was a heavily fortified town with guards everywhere, but no they just killed him from a distance. But what's the point, I guess, when he was going to get killed anyway. Still, it did make me wonder, why does a horse thief need to be executed? Are his crimes really that bad? And if we weren't on that list why did they decide to proceed with the execution anyway? They have their lists and logs, but that really didn't change anything, did it?

Soon it was my turn to be logged and what not and they noticed, of course, I wasn't on their list. The younger, Nord, legionnaire (Hadvar) asked his captain what to do with me, but she decided I was to be executed as well for some reason... He did not seem too happy about knowingly sending an innocent man to the block but he knew it was out of his power.

First to be executed was a red haired Nord who literally laughed in the face of death. After his head rolled down the floor I started praying to every God that I ever heard about. The captain (a redguard, oddly enough) decided I was to be killed next. Thanks a lot, Divines, I thought. I mean, I am not a very spiritual man. I do not worship the Divines regulary, but I am not a bad man. I thought that would count for something, but no, the most innocent one of them all is to be one of the first killed. However, I was wrong. What happened next was the most bizarre thing that have ever happened to me, and I can safely bet to everyone else standing there.

As my name was called, a very distinctive sound filled the air. It is very hard to describe, but it sounded like a giant steel sword hitting the side of a mountain. That might not be the best description but I do not have a better one. As I put my head on the cold, bloody stone block the sound was heard again. As the executioner brought his axe up, a giant flying THING landed on the fort behind him. People started panicking but I was frozen there for a good few seconds. I do not know what was going through my head, but the Nord from the carriage helped me get inside the fort. The Ulfric man was there in the fort and they were talking something about how it was a dragon. A dragon, I thought. A real live dragon. Unlikely, but what do I know?

I found my way around the town and somehow ended up with Hadvar, the one that logged me. He freed my hands and gave me some weapons and armour. On our way through the fort we were attacked by a good few Stormcloaks, which we were forced to kill. After a long trek through the fort that included going through a storage basement, a toture room and a very big cave that was also a home to a bear, we were free. I saw the dragon fly above us and head somewhere north-east.

Hadvar told me that he has an uncle living in a nearby village called Riverwood who can give us something to eat and a place to spend the night at. It took me a while to finally realise that I have really seen a dragon. Probably the first dragon after a very, very long time. I still do not know what this means, but I am pretty sure it is not a small thing.

Hadvar asked me to join the Imperial Legion. What a silly thing to ask me, I thought. After I was almost just executed by them for no reason, he wants me to join them. Of course I played it nice and said something like "maybe", but I really do not have such plans.

Soon we arrived to the village of Riverwood and I met his uncle Alvor, his uncle's wife Sigrid and their daughter Dorthe. Alvor asked me to carry the news of the dragon sighting to the "jarl" of this hold and ask him to send help. Holds are basically different parts of Skyrim. Skyrim has nine holds (I read that in a book that I found in Alvor's house). This hold is called Whiterun Hold. Holds are governed by jarls. Jarl of Whiterun is Balgruuf, I was informed. From the nine jarls, a single High King of Skyrim is chosen. Ulfric Stormcloak killed the last High King (by shouting?) and proclaimed himself the High King. That's how this whole war started, I've been told.

Anyway, I accepted his request since I do not plan to stay in this small village long. I will probably go to Whiterun and look for work there and see where that takes me. After I gather enough gold I will try to join another caravan back home. Hopefully this time it goes better. It seems a bit stupid to stay in this land ravaged by war and now, dragons. However it will probably be a while until I can afford a trip back.

Before I slept I visited the village's inn called The Sleeping Giant Inn. Not a lot of interesting things there but I met a bard named Sven. He asked me to give a forged letter to a woman named Camilla. The forged letter was claiming to be from an elf called Faendal and it was very obviously trying to show Faendal in a bad light. Just for laughs, I accepted his "task".

I went back to Alvor's house, where I spent my night. I woke up and asked Alvor if he needed any help at the forge to which he said that he does. I helped him make a dagger and a helmet and then I went to find the elf. I told him about the letter (I'm still not sure why I did that) and he gave me another forged letter, this one claiming to be from Sven, to give to Camilla. This time I really did that since the bard seemed a bit full of himself.

I went to the general store (where Camilla is, since her brother owns the store), but I overheard an argument between her and the brother. I asked them if they needed any help, and he offered me a reward if I retrieved something for them. I accepted, trying to impress Camilla (that is when I realized why Sven and Faendal are acting they way they are. Camilla is a very stunning woman), but only then I realised that I voulenteered to go to an ancient crypt filled with bandits and Gods-know-what to find some sort of golden claw which was stolen.

A bit too late to pull out, I am seriously thinking of doing the deed. Possibly sometimes later tonight after I rest from all the wood cutting I did today for one of the villagers (who also shares a strong attraction to Camilla, along with every other man in this village and probably some of the women too), or tommorow, I am not sure yet. How hard can it be? I just hope I still remember my father's lessons.

After (if) I come back and get my reward I will head to Whiterun as soon as I can. There's not much left for me here.

    ---Last Seed, 19th, 4E 201, Anise's Cabin---
Went to the barrow today. Didn't think it will take me as long as it did. It took me about an hour to reach the top after leaving Riverwood. On my way up I saw what I think is Whiterun in the distance. It was quite the sight. It also started snowing. I'm not used to Skyrim's cold weather yet.

There was an old tower on my way up to the barrow. About three bandits inside. I took them out fairly easy. I had no idea I was such a good fighter! Or maybe those brigands were just very bad. Either way, I'm alive and they're not. Got some loot from the tower and the bandits (including a new set of iron armour and a mace).

After that I continued my climb to the barrow, hoping that the bandits have made some sort of camp up with a nice roaring fire. The barrow is quite the sight. I can really say that I was in awe when I saw it from up close. The stone arches are breath-taking. How old was this thing supposed to be again? The bandits up there attacked me on sight, so I was forced to kill them. I had a look around but did not find much of use. It really is an amazing structure, though.

The giant iron door was slightly opened so I sneaked my way inside. I saw two bandits near a fire, but I was covered by the stone pillars so they did not see me coming. While I was sneaking I heard them talking about the stolen thing which I was supposed to retrieve, the golden claw.

After I killed them, I got some new weapons (a steel axe and a sturdier looking bow) and a bit of potions and gold I found in a chest. I warmed myself infront of the fire and then carried on through the barrow. The design of the inside seemed quite straightforward. There were a few sideways but they were all caved in. I found another bandit, but he was already dead. He was grabbing onto a lever and had at least 10 arrows stuck inside him. It seemed to be some sort of puzzle. You get it wrong, you die. However it was very straight-forward. I don't know if these ancient Nords were very stupid or were the things they were trying to keep out of their graves very stupid. Either way, I opened the door fairly easy, grabbing a few potions and other items which I thought hold some value. I found a fair bit of jewerly around the place, it was a burial crypt after all. I'm not into grave robbing, but I'm pretty sure I need it more then they do.

A horde of probably rabid skeevers attacked me. Not really a horde, there were three of them. But I was bitten by one. Not long after I started getting a bit weak. Weaker and weaker. It doesn't seem very serious, but it would be the best to visit a healer as soon as possible. Riverwood doesn't have one unfortunatly.

I found the man who stole the claw. He was tangled in spider web. When I approached him a very big spider fell from some hole on the ceiling and attacked me. It was a tough opponent but I managed not to get bit and poisoned. I asked the dark elf (later I found out his name was Arvel) about the claw and he mumbled something about it being a key to a Nord treasure burried somewhere in this crypt. He promised to share it with me, but of course after I freed him from the web he started running deeper into the crypt... I chased after him, but I felt weaker, and this is when I thought it might be from the skeever bite, that I contracted some disease from the sick animal.

As I was running after him, another very strange thing happened. I don't know if this is just how it is in Skyrim, but weird things just keep on happening here. The dead bodies of the ancient Nords buried within this crypt just... woken up. They killed Arvel, but I killed them. I don't know if I can say I killed them since they were already dead, but they stopped walking and attacking me.

I was quite worried about this event, especially because the rest of the crypt seemed to be filled with a very large number of these walking dead ancient Nords. I grabbed the golden claw from Arven's body, his journal and carefully sneaked towards the exit. I found a room, thankfully without any dead Nords, and decided to take a rest there. There was a lit fire so I warmed myself and had something to eat. A rabbit haunch with some cheese and refreshed myself with a some water. While I was resting I read the few last pages of Arvel's journal. He talked about the golden claw and how it was a key to the Bleak Falls Barrow. How he only has to find the "Hall of Stories" and the treasure of the ancient Nords will be his. This interested me quite a bit. I still don't know what made me do it, but somehow I gathered my courage decided: I should try and claim this treasure. It might be worth it, I thought. Who knows what the Nords of old had burried here all those ages ago.

I went back down to Arvel's final resting place and carefully found my way through the crypt. On my way I killed a fair ammount of those nasty creatures. Most of them are fairly easy to bring down, but some seem like worthy opponents. On my way I found some more jewerly which I will try to sell to Camilla's brother (his name escapes me right now), or perhaps gift them to Camilla!

Finally, it seemed like I reached my destination. I saw a long corridor, and at the end of it a fairly large stone wall. Hall of Stories, I thought. On the sides of the corridor were some carvings which seemed impressive, given their age. I'm not entirely sure what they mean, but they are stunning nevertheless. Probably some ancient Nordic legends or something.

The stone door had some sort of pushable stone in the middle with three holes on it. I got the claw out and yes, the claws fitted perfectly in the holes. However, pushing the stone in did nothing. Then I noticed the three rings around the central piece. Each had a carving of an animal. A bear, an owl and a moth. Then I noticed that those parts could be moved as well. And that the back of the claw had those animals on it as well. I rearranged the rings so that the correct animals were shown and tried pushing the central piece again. This time it worked, the door started moving!

Infront of me was a big room, a cave, with a creek running through the center. At the end of the room was some sort of wall. The wall had some strange symbols carved into it, probably a long forgotten tounge. I felt a very strange feeling while I was looking at it, like some sort of power was going through me.

As I turned around, the stone coffin infront of me popped open. Another one of those creatures, I thought. However, this one was very strong. A lot stronger then the others. He shouted at me and his shout swept me off my feet! Is this how Ulfric killed the king? By shouting?

I managed to prevail at the end, but to say it was easy would be a lie. I took his axe which appears to be enchanted in some way. Frost, I think. Proved useful later. Aside from some potions, gold, gems and other small loot I found a stone plate with ancient carvings. The language appears to be the same as the one on the wall. It seemed worthy, so I took it. I will try and sell it to Lucan (that's his name I think) in Riverwood. If he doen't want it I'll take it with me to Whiterun. Maybe someone there will want to buy it.

I found another exit from the crypt (this happened about two hours ago at the time of writing this), the other side probably. Outside I saw stars and realised I was in the crypt the whole day. I thought I was lost but I saw the lake which I saw when I was on the way from Helgen to Riverwood with Hadvar. A river goes into the lake, the same river that flows through Riverwood. I got down to the river and decided to follow it, but the way to the village is quite long. On the way I saw a cabin by the river and since I was tired (partially because of the illness that I might have gotten down in the dungeon and partially because it is very late) I decided to ask the whoever was living inside for a place to spend the night at.

The woman inside seemed friendly enough. She said that I was allowed to spend the night here but if I wanted something to eat I will have to catch it myself. Fair enough, I thought.

Since it was raining and the hut had quite a few holes in its roof I decided to check out the basement and maybe sleep down there. She won't mind, I thought. However, down there I found quite a few things which might imply she is a witch. I thought I'll get out of there before she finds out, but it was too late. She attacked me on sight, saying something like "nobody can know my secret." I was forced to kill her. She left me no other choice. Her name was Anise.

I tried to brew something for myself to help with my bite wounds and whatever I might have contracted but I failed miserebly. I have to get to a healer as soon as possible before this gets any worse.

I will go to sleep now so I can wake up early and get to Riverwood. I'll give the claw to Camilla and her brother and then set off to Whiterun.

    ---Last Seed, 20th, 4E 201, Whiterun---
I woke up a bit later then I expected. The bed was not very comfortable and the hut was not very well protected from rain so I kept waking up. I went back to Riverwood and gave the claw to Camilla and Lucan. They thanked me and gave me some gold, potions and food as a reward. I also sold all the jewerly and other things I have found in the barrow.

I gave my farewell to Alvor and Sigrid. Hadvar seemed to be gone to Solitude. I started my trek to Whiterun but it was raining the whole way. Near the city was a meadery called Honningbrew Meadery. I wanted to get a drink and rest a bit but everything was too expensive so I had nothing. While the owner was away a worker complained how he isn't a very just employer. He seems quite arrogant and rude (the owner). I wanted to steal some of his mead from the barrels outside but I heard some people were fighting nearby. Three people were battling a giant. I helped them in taking it down and the woman who seemed in charge complimented my fighting skills and told me that they were a band of mercenary warriors called "The Companions". I have never heard of them before but they do appear to be a big deal here in Whiterun. I asked her if I can join and she told me that I have to come to their mead-hall in Whiterun and talk to their leader of some sort. Is this the work I was looking for? It sounds good.

The city of Whiterun looks very impressive, both from the outside and the inside. The guard infront of the gates told me that I can't go in because the city is closed but after I said that I was sent to ask for the jarl's help from Riverwood he let me in. It was late so there weren't many people on the streets. I went straight to the apothecary since I was feeling quite bad. The woman behind the counter told me that I probably have Ataxia but that she has a cure. However her cure was quite expensive so I decided to go to the temple and seek for a healer instead.

On my way to the temple I overheard a few arguments. A man and an eldery woman were arguing about the war. However it seemed much more personal. The son of the woman was missing and she was blaming the man for this. The woman's family seem to support the Stormcloaks while the other family supports the Empire. I am still not too sure about what the better choice is, but the Stormcloaks do seem very non-welcoming towards the other races.

It turns out the two families are quite a big deal, or they used to be, in Whiterun but that they are currently in some sort of a fued, probably over the war. Somehow I got involved in their argument and after the man left the woman asked me for help. I decided to stay out of it but now I feel quite bad for that. I will go and ask if she still needs help when I can.

I also met a Redguard that tasked me with finding his father's sword that some bandits took. It's not a real job but I promised that if I come across it in my "adventures" that I will bring it to him. I'm not sure why but most people in this city seem to think that I am some sort of well travelled adventurer. Probably because of my armour and my look. I'm still not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.

I finally got to the temple. It's devoted to Kynareth. The priestess, named Danica, told me that she can't do much since she has a lot more seriously wounded men to cure, mostly soldiers from the war. But she suggested me to pray to Kynareth and get some rest. I did that and I think it worked. I feel much better now, so thank you Goddess. The priestess told me about how the tree in the middle of the city, the Gildergreen, was in a bad shape. And it's supposed to be a very important tree cut from the oldest being in Skyrim or something. Out of curiosity I asked if it can be helped and she said that it can. And now I got another task: retrieve some sort of knife called Nettlebane from a Hagraven. I don't know why I keep accepting all these requests but I guess it's the least I can do in return for her advice. That is probably why Kynareth helped me heal so that is alright.

I decided against going to the Jarl in the state that I was in. Also it was quite late so I thought it wouldn't be appropriate. I will do it the first thing tommorow. I'm writing this from a room I rented in the city's inn called The Bannered Mare. The room is quite cozy and the atmosphere is nice but I was too tired to mingle with the locals. I spoke with a man named Jon. He is a part of the Battle-Born clan and he told me about their fued with the Gray-Mane's. Reminder: Battle-Born's are the Empire supporters and Gray-Mane's are the Stormcloak supporters. Jon seemed like a laid-back fellow and he told me how the families used to be very close and that what is happening now is senseless.

Another interesting thing that happened in the inn: the barmaiden, a pretty Redguard woman, was acting very oddly. Plus she called the owner of the inn, a Nord, "mom". And I am pretty sure that they are not related. I don't want to stick my nose in anyones business, but it just seemed odd is all.

I will go to sleep now and go see the Jarl tommorow.

Note to self: try to make these journal entries shorter or you will need quite a few of these journals.

Oh another thing I forgot to mention: I found out what those things in the crypt were. Alvor told me they're called "draugr" and that they're a thing of legend. Seemed kind of sceptical when I told him about what I saw in the barrow. But who wouldn't be?

    ---Last Seed, 21st, 4E 201, Whiterun---
I went to the Jarl today. I gave him the news about Riverwood and the dragon attack in Helgen. He gave me some steel armour as a reward which seems a lot more protective then my old iron one.

The Jarl asked me if I can help his court wizard with something relating to dragons and I told him that I can, hoping for a good reward. The wizard asked me to retrieve a stone plate from Bleak Falls Barrow called the Dragonstone. The one that I already wrote about in this journal! Quite the coincidence indeed. I went back to my room at the inn to get it and when I was back I noticed that something was going on. The Jarl's housecarl which seemed in command of the guards said that a dragon has been sighted to the west of the city and that they had to act at once. The Jarl asked me if I can help them because I have the most experiance with dragons. He also gave me some gauntlets as a reward for the Dragonstone.

I thought if they have to rely on me, a total stranger, for fighting with a dragon that they're probably screwed, but I accepted to help of course.. We went to the tower where the dragon was sighted and it was on fire. Soon the dragon came back and attacked us, but we managed to bring it down. As it was dying all his skin flaked off until there was nothing left beside the bones. However, while that was happening I seemed to have absorbed some kind of power from the dead beast. The guards gathered around me and seemed to be in awe for some reason. They called me a Dragonborn. I really had no idea what happened, but after that event I seem to be able to produce a strong wind by shouting. Just like Ulfric? I do not know what this means, perhaps I will know after I sleep it off.

As I was coming back to the city I heard a very loud shout coming from a mountain. I shrugged it off and went back into the city. At the gates, however, were two Alik'r warriors. The guard was making them leave but they turned to me for help. They asked me to find a Redguard woman hiding in the city and that there is a hefty prize for me in it. The woman in the inn I thought, but I decided not to tell them anything just yet and I just told them that I will be on the lookout for her.

I went to Dragonsreach (the castle) and brought news. However they seemed to be a lot more interested in the story of me being the Dragonborn... They told me that the noise that I heard from the mountain were the "Greybeards" calling my name and asking me to visit them. The Greybeards are ancient hermits living up on High Hrothgar and they study "The Way of The Voice". I guess that's the whole shouting thing. They also look for Dragonborns because the Dragonborns appear to be the only people who can naturally do this shout... I still don't know why this shouting is such a big thing. It doesn't seem very useful to me yet, but perhaps I am wrong. The path to the Greybeards is quite long however, so I will not go to them just yet. I will stay in this city a bit longer and try and find some more work. Tommorow I think I will go and visit the Companions and seek work there.

The Jarl also proclaimed me a "Thane". A thane is a person of high importance in the hold. He gave me an axe which is a symbol of my power here in Whiterun. It doesn't seem like a very good weapon but I guess it's just symbolic. I hope my newly gained status in this city will help me with getting a house here. I am basically homeless and I have to shell out 100 septims every night for a room at the inn. The Jarl said that I can purchase property in the city but I don't have enough gold as of yet. Hopefully the Companions pay a good wage!

Oh and another thing: As a thane I get a "housecarl". Basically a person that is sworn to "protect me and everything I own". I'm not sure how comfortable I am with having someone beneath me like that, but I do not want to offend them and their customs. I will ask "my" housecarl how she feels about all this when the time is right. She is a Nord woman called Lydia.

Who would of thought this is how things would work out for me here in Skyrim? I might stay here a bit longer then I thought I would.

"The Nords do love their lists" Gotta love it! XD I also like the small notes you write to yourself as reminders, I may borrow that for my own writing in the future.

Also its a good story so far, but your formatting is a bit difficult for my eyes to read. Why not break it up into several smaller posts like I did? Another idea is to include some screenshots to give a concrete image for the less imaginary. Just a few tips! Keep writing my friend! Good job!

Thank you I liked your journal as well.

Yeah, I noticed it was very hard to read after I posted it, so I'll do that next time. I wanted to at least make the size of the titles bigger but I wasn't sure of the codes for that, so I just bolded them. Thank you for the advice. Don't have any new ones since I'm having some problems with my graphic card so I can't play currently. Next time I'll try and get some nice screenshots! Thank you for the tips.

    Journal

    ---Last Seed, 17Th, 4E 201---

Today's events finally convince me to write this journal.

I am Konan, and i decided to come back to Skyrim after the long years of exile my family has endured. But on my way to Skyrim, the Imperial Legion assailed me, and I was brought to a city called Helgen, but I could be wrong.

So I came to that city, in a carriage with a horse thief named Lokir, a "Stormcloak" named Ralof, and some noble guy named Ulfric Stormcloak. We were brought to be executed, and I saw one of Ralof's companions be executed by the Legion. Then came my turn. I closed my eyes, preparing to die, but I opened them, not on Death, but on the sight of a remarkable creature, a Dragon! He had a black skin, and great spiky wings, and he was roaring what seemed to be incantations, making the sky fall and the men die. I escaped from him,not without danger, but i was helped by Ralof. During the escape, I succeeded in scavenging some weapons and armor, enough to protect myself against wolves and beasts, or even get in a fight! I'll look for a non-Imperial armor for now, I don't feel good in that equipment. As I write this, I am by Ralof's sister's home (damn, already forgot her name), and i will soon go take a break, a nap. Tomorrow I shall go to Whiterun tell the Jarl of my story.

    ---Last Seed, 18Th, 4E 201---

The people of Rriverwood'sv trader showed me how to go to the barrow. But I think I will first go back to Whiterun, i don't want to stupidly die looking for some treasure... At least not yet.

    ---Last Seed, 19Th, 4E 201---

I have decided to sign in the Companions, sort of Fighters guild. Falkas gave me my first mission, and i'm gonna do that today. I must absolutely get a name round here, and get myself some equipment worth the name, I really want to get rid of that stupid Imperial armor, even if it's of a certain quality... I must go, Adrianne, one of Whiterun's Smiths requires my attention...

I have dealt with the smith, and now I have to retrieve a fragment of "Wultrad", some weapon the companions seek. I have to go to a Barrow North'East of Whiterun, I hope I will succeed, with the help of Farkas.

    ---Last Seed, 19Th, 4E 201---

    f*** THIS

I've passed all day in that shitty dungeon, trying to get that damned weapon part, but there are creatures there... Creatures from another time, Dead arisen, With blue glowing eyes and rash words. Farkas is a f***ing WEREWOLF, and some Werewolf Fighting "guild" (more of a group of strict-minded racist group in my opinion), trying to eliminate us, even if i'm clean of lycanthropy. Anyway, I made some gold in that dungeon, tomorrow, i'll buy a horse, and equipment.

    ---Last Seed, 20Th, 4E 201---

I bought a horse this morning, and it is most useful. I can now rapidly go to Riverwood, and explore that barrow. But first, I will help Whiterun and kill the bandits I heard from in Whiterun's Inn.

I have just exterminated a bandit camp, and taken my reward. Now I will go to Riverwood, to explore the tomb.

I came to the Watchtower the Merchant's sister told me about, and killed the heavily armored bandits who were there, scavenging a fine piece of craft: an Orcish armor, with a shield, gauntlets, and boots. Coming to the Barrow itself, I killed some guards outside, and I right now am preparing to go deeper into the mountain...

Arvel, the possessor of the claw, tried to fool me. deadly error. he now lies dead on the floor, his skull partially broken by my maul. Funny how he unwilling gave me the information I need, in his journal.

    ---Last Seed, 20Th, 4E 201---

I have cleared the Barrow. I have killed more of the Undead creatures. They seem to be more of a global threat than just a single event; I will have to dig that. At the end of the tomb, I saw carving of an unknown form on some wall. More than carvings, it gave me the impression to feel power through it. Ancient and deep power, but noble power. it is late, I will pass the night at the Riverwood Inn, and tomorrow i'll go to the merchant, to talk about his claw, and then to Whiterun, to give the stone to Farengar.

    ---Last Seed, 21st, 4E 201---

Whoa, what a day! I woke up this morning, and I immediately received a letter, telling me Gerdur, Ralof's sister is dead.  I will mourn her, and one day, i'll avenge from the Vampires who did that. Then, I went back to Whiterun, to give the stone back to Farengar, and at this moment, a Dragon was sighted, not far from the city! Irileth, some guards, and myself were tasked to kill the dragon, who was attacking the Western Watchtower. I went there, and at first the place was clear, but he was said soon to return, and indeed, he showed up from behind the mountains not a minute after that. The battle was fierce, and I was burned, hopefully not too gravely. But as the dragon was slayed, I again felt energy, feeding into my body. It was the same energy I encountered yesterday, but now I think I have an explanation. I am Dragonborn, the ancient wielder of the voice! And yesterday's energy was some ancient knowledge, directly beamed into my head, and now, when I speak "Fus", people before me faint on the ground! I am eager to learn more about this. Tomorrow, I am summoned by the Greybeards, on the top of the world, to learn more.

    ---Last Seed, 23rd, 4E 201---

Today I've ridden all day to Riften, in the south east, first by cart, then by Horse, to go to Ivargread. I think I will stay here a bit, preparing for the journey to High Hrotgar.

    ---Last Seed, 23rd, 4E 201---

I'v explored the Barrow just outside of Ivargread, and I have made some advancement in my understanding of the undead, the Draugr, and of the power on the walls, or Dragon Power, as I have decided to call it. The Draugr are ancient nords from a long time ago, when dragons ruled Skyrim. They were cursed, for some reason, and they now protect their tombs, for the ones still in a "good" shape. The power on the wall, is some kind of information source, and even if I can't exploit it yes, I begin to store knowledge as I explore these ruins. I have the feeling the Draugr, Dragons, and that are related...

    ---Last Seed, 24Th, 4E 201---

Today I have climbed up the High Hrotgar. What a climb! I encountered a troll, wolves, spiders, all sort of things! On my way I found a forge, with inscriptions on the stones, that if followed, help to make some fine weaponry. I made myself a long sword, of a most beautiful construction. It was worth the climb though, for I learned a lot with the GreyBeards, and I now have reached another state in mastering and understanding the Thu'um, dragon voice. The worlds on the walls can be understood by killing a dragon, they say. I personally hope I won't again find Death on wing, even for suck a reward.

    ---Last Seed, 25th, 4E 201---

I came back to Whiterun, passing near Helgen (I didn't enter the city, I'm afraid bandits took it), and trough Riverwood. In Riverwood, while on my horse, an Orc came to me, talking about a Vampire-Fighting "guild", the Dawnguard. As I have sworn to avenge Ralof's sister, by killing as much vampires as I could, I think I'll join the Dawnguard. Or at least when I get the guts to fight the vampiric threat... I am tired of Inns and Jorvaskr, I will try to buy a home, if my money is enough, to settle here, and who knows, maybe get a woman?

I have bought a cosy little house in Whiterun, Breezehome. It's useful, now I can store things there, sleep, rest...

    ---Last Seed, 25th, 4E 201---

Today, I felt ready to recover the fragment of Wultraad, in the Cairn north west of here. I successfully recovered it, and by the same occasion, discovered a dragon power. I should try to understand these words, to master my voice better. I also have made some discoveries about the undead.

    ---Last Seed, 26th, 4E 201---

Today, I will seek the Horn of Windcaller, for the Greybeards. And if I doesn't take too long, I will go see them, to claim my reward.

Ustengrav was quite epic, but a grim surprise waited for me. As I drew near the altar, the Horn wasn't here. In place of the relic, a note, written to the Dragonborn, told me to go to Riverwood, and ask for the "Attic room" at the Inn. I will seek the meaning of this, before going to the Greybeards.

    The Draugr:

the Draugr are Ancient Nords, cursed to protect their tombs. The are arranged by casts (probably related to their lives, as a living), and these casts determines their armor, weaponry, and knowledge. Some know the use of spells, and other master the Voice. Most Draugr I encounter have very light armor, if it can be called armor; three pieces of plate on their waists, but some other have Heavy armor, enchanted weapons, and powerful spells.

    ---Last Seed, 26th, 4E 201---

    Spiders:

Spiders (or frostbite Spiders, as most of them are called), come in various forms and shapes. They also are found everywhere in Skyrim. The attack with poison, at medium range, or with their claws at close combat. Alone, they are easy to take, but in greater numbers, they are great danger. Watch for webs when approaching their lairs, and be ready.

If I want to join the Dawnguard to kill vampires, I'll have to look in the rift, it is said their castle is there.

Some crazy guys tried to kill me, the come from an island named "Solstheim". I can take a boat at Windhelm to investigate.

I must see if the Horn is in Riverwood, as written on the not I found.

Hey, don't have a journal to submit (yet). But I just wanted to thank you for making this awesome mod. I have always wanted to have a proper journal in Skyrim and since I often get carried away in my writings I must thank you for the awesome time I had using this mod. Thanks again, and yeah... always know you made someone out there happier!

    A Scholars Search Into Saarthal
    By Fyrre Direnni

    Entry One:

    ---Last Seed, 20th, 4E 201--- 10:00
We began our descend into the ancient Atmorian city of Saarthal. Apparently it was recently excavated by The College. Inside Tolfdir had the other apprentices check for wards and other magics, I being a respected scholar in my own right*, was sent to help out the reclusive conjurer Ariel Gane. He seems to be working on something he repeatedly claims is of extreme importance and is acting rather suspicious. Nevertheless I've been tasked by him with gathering up and cataloging the remaining magical artifacts in the northern tunnels.

After picking up a few rings with fading enchantments, I've stumbled upon some kind of strange amulet. It appears to have something akin to teeth on either side of it and a strange engraving on the face of the decorative plate. It seems removing the amulet off of the wall activated an iron portcullis trap, sealing me off from the rest of the group. Gane seemed not to notice, entranced by his secretive work. Tolfdir however came running, concern etched into his well weathered face. He seems to think the amulet is some kind of key to the mysteries of this place and has suggested I try it on.

Wearing the amulet somehow allows me to cast spells easier, as if pulling on the weave of Aetherius itself, it also allows its resonance with a certain section of the wall to be seen. Opening it has dispelled the trap and Tolfdir and I are heading further into the new tunnels. I feel like we shouldn't be here. As if there is something calling out to be freed. I have a terrible feeling about this place.

*a reference to my previous investigation into the lineage of House Indoril and the reason for my acceptance into the College of Winterhold

    ---Last Seed, 20th, 4E 201--- 10:33
It is just as I had feared. Upon our arrival into a room with what appears to be an Atmorian alter of some sort, I felt a displacement in time. Tolfdir and the flames of the candles on the alter appear as if frozen in place. To deepen the mystery, a strange man in yellow robes appeared out of nowhere. Teleportation magic perhaps? Is such a thing even possible? Or perhaps an unknown form of illusion magic?

Either way, his name is Norien and he claims he has come from The Order of Psijics of Artaeum. Why is he here? He spoke of not passing judgement on us because we had no way of knowing (knowing what?). Also of horrific events to come as a consequence of opening this place. What exactly lies inside of here? As my questions mounted, he vanished without a trace. Having unfrozen, Tolfdir remarked about a passing feeling, it seems he noticed he was frozen, most unusual. I've recounted my experience with Norien, but he has brushed it off and refused to heed the Psijic Norien's advice. Perhaps this is fate. I cannot let him go alone, so against my better judgement, we carry on.

Continuing in, we came across a room full of coffins surrounded by a ring of magic candles. It seems entering the ring has triggered the gate behind us to close. The coffins opened up and many Draugr have attacked us. After defeating them, the gate back to our fellow College members remains closed. I can only pray for another way out.

Tolfdir seems rather unfazed by it all. Eyes alight with interest in our recently redeceased aggressors. Upon closer inspection they all seem to be in various states of relative decay. There are too many variants to list accurately here. However Tofldir seems intent on studying them further. I will continue further in and search for a way out myself. I've begun to feel an immense magical pressure. Tolfdir doesn't seem to notice it. There is something seriously wrong with this place.

More tunnels filled with Draugr. In these types of ancient ruins, I have to remind myself to be careful because of the complex traps. An example would be the particularly nasty arrow trap that was set up with a chest as bait. An unwary adventurer would likely be done in by such a simple trick, luckily I've been able to avoid it. However the contents of the chest are meager. A few gold coins and a petty soul gem. At least I can now recharge my staff of calm.

At the end of the tunnels, it seems there are some pillars with animals engraved on them, a switch, and a closed gate. Decoding the pattern to open the way shouldn't be too difficult. Just a second... There we go, the pattern is as follows: Eagle, Whale, Snake, Whale. You would think they wouldn't hide the pattern in plain sight like that... Unless it wasn't meant to prevent access in, but to keep things from getting out. After the gate, was a room with two stairways on either side. At the top of them lay a coffin and a Draugr Wight. A particularly nasty version of Draugr, wielding some kind of ancient poleaxe and possessing glowing red eyes. Upon closer inspection the poleaxe is engraved with a relief of a man with a helm and horns. Also it is terribly heavy, I'll have to come back for it later.

As of now I'm sitting eating stale bread in this wretched place. If only casting so many spells didn't make me so hungry and tired... I must remember to train if I make it out of here alive. I will continue to document my findings here for future reference.

The next room was surrounded with Shock Runes. If I remember correctly by utilizing the dissonance created by opposing destruction spells, one can cause the Runes to destabilize and disarm. If only I were trained in Destruction! Regrettably in my haste to disarm one (by throwing a steel sword on top of it), I ended up with quite the nasty shock. The injury is not too severe and I feel like I can carry on. If only Tolfdir were here with me. I'm sure he could cast basic restoration magic. Feeling drained, I'm becoming increasingly wary of the dangers ahead.

      Entry Three:

It seems all that trouble was finally worth it! I've ended up in a hall with depictions of a male Atmorian wearing a cloak, scale plate armor, and a helm with horns. In his right hand he wields a mighty double bladed axe. Ysgramor perhaps? Opposite this engraving is what appears to be a male wizard. He is surrounded by many stars and wears a robe and cowl made of feathers. The depiction has him casting some sort of unknown magic represented by symbolic eyes. Ahzidal the enchanter?

I would love to study them further, but my supplies are beginning to run low and for now the way is blocked by another trap. This one seems to be set up in a most irritating fashion. Four pillars with animal markings, it seems I must find the correct order to continue.... The complexity of this trap while no match for me, would surely confuse the average adventurer. Turning certain pillars seems to rotate others. This trap is time consuming, but I've finally done it. Front left Snake, Front right Whale, Back left Whale, Back right Eagle.

Continuing forward, I've been attacked by another Draugr of the average variety, luckily the beast was in possession of a rare gem. I've also stumbled across an old alchemy lab covered in layers of dust. As I completed a few potions of health (finally curing my shock wound), Tolfdir has caught up with me at last. I was beginning to suspect I'd never see another soul again!

As we opened the final door, an eerie blue glow fills every corner of the room. In the center is a floating gigantic blue and green glowing orb lined with runes of unknown origin (daedric script?). It seems sealed behind some kind of powerful ward. The sheer power emanating from this artifact alone is nearly overwhelming. I can feel it calling out to be freed. It is driving me forward almost obsessively. Perhaps this is what the Psijic Norien warned me of?

      Final Entry:

      ---Last Seed, 20th, 4E 201--- 14:21
Inside the room containing "The Sealed Orb", we were met with a Draugr of most unusual strength. Crowned in a helm with two upward spiral horns and ancient Norse armor, it rose to greet us giving out a shrilling war cry. Falling to my knee I was stunned. Could this be the legendary Th'um of the Nords? Dodging it's sword swings and delivering my own, our attacks have no effect. Tolfdir has speculated that the creature may be gaining strength from The Orb and has begun to drain the ward surrounding it. I quickly cast a conjured flame atronach to distract the Draugr, in order to buy more time. Finally the ward on The Orb has fallen and the creatures invulnerability is gone. With a few quick sword strokes, it has been easily dispatched by my conjured blades.

It seems according to a note on the beast, it was once someone named Jyrik Gauldurson. He was sealed here because of some kind of treachery. Most unusual. I showed Tolfdir the note, but he paid it no heed. Searching the body further has revealed a fragment of some kind of necklace with a mid-sized magicka enchantment cast on it. Tolfdir has been engrossed with The Orb and has offhandedly allowed me to keep the creatures staff and necklace as a reward for my services. The other college apprentices will be most envious of the staffs powerful damage enchantment.

Tolfdir has extrapolated that this may be the Eye of Magnus and has bid me to report to the Archmage of the College. But first I must get out of this place. Traveling through the next room, I found myself face to face with a word wall of the ancient Nords. This one too spoke of using Thu'um ( literally The Voice ) and a power I can only translate roughly as "Ice Form". I wonder how one utilizes such a thing. I must remember to research this further. Finding a chest hidden nearby, I've looted the contents. A steel dagger (a bit rusted but in good shape), some gold coins, an iron ingot, and a ring of basic stealth. How fortunate!

Moving forward I've luckily found a path back to my fellow students. However I'm reminded by Tolfdir's instructions not to tell anyone but the Archmage about The Eye. Continuing to the exit, I step out of the ancient tunnels into the warm sunlight and winter haze, I can finally breathe easy at last. However I must find a bed soon, I'm utterly exhausted and my wounds have not fully healed.

I'm using the Bandolier - Bags and Pouches "book holder" item for my character so it looks like he's actually carrying a journal with him (hanging from his hip). I feel that it helps with the immersion to actually see the book on the character. Would be super cool if something like that could be implemented.

Still I love the progress you've made on "Take Notes!" already! Just being able to write anything at all is awesome!

Love the style of this People can come up with amazing ideas to do with this mod. It's such a simple idea (the mod), but it really broadens the gameplay, at least for people that are into this sort of thing.
