      hi there.. this is a texture only version so it should work. I don't have the new special edition so I don't know for sure. If someone could confirm that would be awesome. Thanks!

      thanks stephen82 that's cool of you to say! the textures should all still work as far as I know, but I don't have the special edition and haven't messed with modding Skyrim in a really long time. thanks again!

   Since this mod is just textures it works in Special Edition. I tryed it and works like a charm. I believe all textures mods work in SE (the worst thing it could happen is the mod being ugly in SE, otherwise it won't broke your saves!)

   any reason why the kilt in the mod screenshot is a gorgeous blue while for me and user screenshot its this weird black chainmail looking thing ?

      under Files try the "Royal Heroic Dwarven Armor". It should have the purple kilt

    This may not be the most "lore friendly" Dwarven armor out there but I believe it IS, hands down, the most awesome.

       Actually it is lore friendly. You obtain dwemer armor by smelting dweemer metal to ingots, and then you smith new and shiny armor.
