A reasonable idea however I am going by what the item looks likes like in game and comparing it to other items of a similar level - for example the leather chest armor has a round metallic item on the chest but requires no ingots to craft.
If the vanilla game had a bow string as an item for crafting then I would have used that as one of the ingredients for the bows.
The Long bow is the most basic ranged non magical weapon in vanilla skyrim which looks like its made of wood and a bow string.
The Hunting bow is lightly better than the Long bow and looks like it has leather strips for the handle so 3 wood along with 1 leather strip.
The new optional update to the Mod is a craftable Imperial bow using 3 wood and a steel ingot - the damage of an imperial bow is higher than a longbow or a hunting bow so requires a steel ingot and steel smithing to create.
