i attribute the lack of endorsements to the multitude of individuals engrossing themselves within gameplay of unparalleled proportions which has rendered them unable to stop playing Skyrim long enough to return to reality and endorse the product. Luckily my HDD crashed long enough for me to break from my HD BS coma and report my findings. Endorsed.
Hello Everyone, I am assuming this is not compatible with SMIM? The moment I installed this texture and went in game, The signs are all purple.
Thanks
Edit: So I removed the file and restarted the game and the purple texture is gone. I wonder what it could be because I really want this texture. Also, I remove the whole meshes folder to see if the problem is rectified but it is still there. I also tried the authors other mods and they all do the same thing. If I install any other texture mods, I do not get this purple mesh problem at all. Maybe the textures are corrupted.
Odd, I use SMIM and it usually works fine. Though sometimes the sign goes all wonky so I can only see the edges, and for some reason I have to literally push my face against it for the front surfaces to show up like some kind of poor draw distance problem.
Purple meshes are a missing texture error. Sometimes from literally missing textures or sometimes due to insufficient RAM
Some of the user screenshots show the sign using SMIM
They are compatible. SkyFix doesn't overwrite anything from SMIM. Purple textures, like Deepblue said, is a missing texture error or insufficient RAM. Another issue, especially with NMM are corrupted downloads though that seldom happens anymore.
Not sure what you meant by mesh folder as this mod is only a texture. You might have a mesh that calls for a certain texture which you may not have.
this is one of those things i had actually noticed and just assumed they intended it to look that way, only today did i realise someone actually made a re tex for it
This is a very nice retexture and I hate to come across as a bit of an ungrateful prick, but does the file really need to be so big ? It's 2048, seemingly uncompressed because it's weighting 16 mb. I uploaded a few screenshots of a resized to 1024 and compressed version I made with Optimizer Textures and the quality difference is basically not noticable ingame unless you're deliberately zooming a lot on it for screenshotting purposes. That version weights 1,33 mb. I made a new compression in DDSopt which has much better quality than the Optimizer Textures one and is the same size, so there should be even less of a difference ingame. It's just a friendly suggestion, but I think you should upload a compressed 1024 version and keep the 2048 one for people who have Vram to spare or really need it for some reason, because not everybody is going to take the time to check file sizes and optimize it. Great job otherwise like I said
I have to say this... You are one talented guy! Congrats!
How about improving some low res alchemy ingredients like bear claws of hagravan claw? We can see them in all their ugliness all the time, yet nobody has bothered to improve them!
PS. Bare in mind though CovertKish that you can always have your own versions of certain retextures if you can think you can do better than other graphics craftsmen or simply you want to create your own take/ version... For example God only knows how many rock retextures you can find on the Nexus; there is a rock retexture for every taste!
Also, just discovered that there is an absolutely hideous texture that doesn't seem to have been touched by any texture pack so far (that I can find, still looking), and that's a snow/rock/dirt texture high up where mountains appear. For instance, you can use the console with the code "coc bleakfallsbarrowexterior02" and you should be able to see it. It's terribly low res... Ugh.
EDIT: Nevermind. Solved the problem. One of my installed texture packs had a super low resolution version of the texture.
