The installations instructions are not complete. Im trying to fix it now.
Looking at the ESP in TESVEdit ... the want the path ....\coolsimshair\female\...
But in the data download, the folder is ..\fem\..
Rename that the female and it might work. Im about to test.

EDIT: that fixed most of them. I still get a few more that dont work, but this fixed about 80% of them. I dont feel like going through with TESVEdit right now and figuring out how to fix them all =/

to get race ability back, you just have to type player.setrace "name of a race different from the one you want" and then player.setrace "your race"

    example: if u're a breton
    player.setrace argonian

    player.setrace breton
you can change your race this way too

As long as you don't change race or sex it should be fine.

Be sure to remove all clothing that add effects as well then 'showracemenu' -> change only appearance -> name character -> save -> load save

You will need to save then load to get your race abilities back!!!

    Quick question:

Is there a way to change your character's hair style WITHOUT using the "showracemenu" command in the console? Because I would like to NOT have my character screwed up. because just by OPENING the race menu I lose all race-specific bonuses, and if I change races the new race wont have the bonus either (not that I do).

    IE

bretons loose 25% magic resistance (permanent)
high elves lose +50 starting magicka bonus (also permanent)

This just adds a lot of "bald" hair styles at the end of the slider and doesn't fix the replacement of the hair styles of the vanilla. Am I doing something wrong?

    EDIT: nvm -facepalm- its working

"This little mod works just great! Unfortunately, I probably won't use it, as I don't know of anyway to do custom hair on an NPC if the hair isn't a replacement. "
What about loading through the creation kit? I have tried unfortunately it crashes.
Does anyone have any idea what tools where used to make the mod

This little mod works just great! Unfortunately, I probably won't use it, as I don't know of anyway to do custom hair on an NPC if the hair isn't a replacement.

    @TheSilverKnight:

I'm afraid that trick to make this work with the NPC Editor did not work...and technically it SHOULDN'T work, as the NPC Editor will then create a reference to an incorrect object. Are you sure you actually renamed the "hair" folder back to "coolsims" when you were done with the NPC Editor? If not, it could result in the appearance this mod is working when in fact it isn't. That is because if you didn't rename the "hair" folder back to "coolsims" the coolsims hair will still replace the vanilla hair (the condition this mod corrects), making it so the coolsims hair will show up on your character and any character you have customized with the NPC Editor, however, NPCs that have already spawned will still retain the vanilla hair unless you reset their appearance (which can be done by pulling up the console, clicking on an NPC, and typing "setnpcweight x" where x is any number between 0 and 100. This results in the coolsims hair still replacing the vanilla hair if you pull up showracemenu, but while walking around in the game, NPCs will still have vanilla hair and you and characters edited with the NPC Editor will have the custom coolsims hair.

You can test if you have made this error my pulling up the console, clicking on a female NPC that currently has a default hair, and typing "setnpcweight 100" (without the quotes), and if the NPCs hair suddenly changes from a vanilla hair to a coolsims hair, then the coolsims hair is still replacing the vanilla hair, and you have most likely not renamed the "hair" folder back to "coolsims" (which means the hair.esp file isn't actually doing anything).

Hope I explained all that clear enough to understand what I am saying. And, of course, if there is a way to make this mod work properly with the NPC Editor, and I just totally missed something, feel free to say so! :-)
