Question, wouldn't the moon technically cause shadows at night when the moon is bright? I can see removing them on a night the moon is not visible, but on a bright night I can see my shadow cast on the ground.
Yes, I understand that. Couldn't you just use the sun shadows though? What I meant was, disable the shadows on dark nights that have very little moon light. Enable the shadows on nights that have a brighter/fuller moon. Hopefully this makes more sense.
Big thanks for this one. It always bothered me that there are no perceptible moon phases in Skyrim. Sadly I cannot test it atm but I will for sure when my new GPU arrives!

Another idea that's somewhat related but probably much more complicated: The sun in Skyrim behaves like an equatorial sun. It would be more immersive if it worked like a sun at ~55-60° North.
any chance for a version where the changes are more drastic? a full moon can cast a much greater % of light than a mid or a new moon compared to what you have in the screenshots.
With clear skies on a full moon in an Earth like setting, it can light up the entire landscape. Skyrim has a very Earth like environment and has 2 moons, which would reflect even more light than a single moon. I would say that twice as much would be slightly drastic, but close. I think that realistically a full moon phase with a well configured dark nights module (not a dark overlay but a well done weathers plugin to reduce night brightness, such as Prod's weather patch for COT) with clear skies should light the place up about 75% as bright as vanilla. medium moon phase about 50%-60% as bright as vanilla nights. Just some idears, I'm not sure what sort of work you put into this mod for the moon lights effects but I hope that I'm not being annoying here. I'm just trying to look into this little mod from a realistic standpoint.
Quick question though, the edits you made to affect night brightness for different moon phases, would this be done through a sort of overlay with variations of brightness or did you do so by tweaking weathers somehow?
hi. hello. sup. howya doing? i tried updating this mod, ah, but i didn't read the instructions before deleting the mod- i know, stupid. now my game is unplayable- i can't fix this because the version i had was deleted. is there a fix, or am i fucked?

Maybe something to implement?

It wouldn't necessarily be more immersive, because obviously the sun actually /is/ equatorial ingame. Don't forget, Nirn isn't Earth.

it makes a great difference indeed!
Somewhat brighter version would be fitting.
Excellent mod anyhow, thank you for sharing!
But grass seems to be very bright (it still vanilla like, although trees and land become more darker). Also Trees LODs.
Maybe you know, if there any solution?
By the way great mod
