I hope you're well, Gary. I'm using the SSE edition, and this is great for verisimilitude, as I've always headcanoned that the reason my Imperial character is in Skyrim is that although he is half Imperial and considers himself such, the other side of his ancestry is from all over Tamriel--including a grandfather from Skyrim.

(I also appreciate that it has an outhouse, because Inigo is right about the Nords needing a better place to defecate than a bucket lol)

Have been trying the SSE/Anniversary edition out for a couple weeks now.  Didn't care for any of the house mods that came with that.  Spent a good bit of time going through all the house mods on Nexus, downloading, checking them out, removing again.  Thank goodness for the nif optimizer so I can have Hindalok in my game again.  Not overly cluttered, not too barren, feels like it fits in the world and was always there.  Love the candles and the story background, even the broken cart that I imagine has some story.

Hope you are well, Gary, along with Zahirah and the other fans who have found home.

      Hi Ondrea,
Hope you are well. Happy to read your post and glad that you too have found the way to put Hindalok in SE. I am so spoiled that is the only house mod I ever use. I have tried hundreds and always go back home to Hindalok. It is truly one of the best lore friendly house mods ever.

      Gary, hope you are well.

    Greetings Gary,
Came back to playing Skyrim after a long break, the SSE version this time. Couldn't imagine starting a game without Hindalok, so I converted your mod to SE for my personal use.
Works just fine! (Thinking I'll try converting Snowline for next playthrough.)

    All the best,
    Sly

That is so awesome. I too have used Hindalok since it was released and still play Old rim because of it. I have no clue how to convert it so just plug along in old Skyrim. What did you use to convert it and was it difficult to do?

      Hi, Z -
Fact is I never did convert it as there were too many things to change . . .  that I have long since forgotten how to deal with.  And now - I wouldn't know where to begin to mod anything.  Good to hear from you as always.
      Take care,
      gary

      @Zahirah

      Converting Hindalok is very simple

Get SSE NIF Optimizer and follow the instructions in the mod Description to convert the meshes and scan the texture files for compatibility.
      https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4089

      Repack the mod
      https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Install your new 7zip archive in SSE as you would any mod and activate the esp file

Open just this mod in the SSE CK (say yes to all the error messages, they have nothing to do with this mod)

Now in the upper left corner click save, and close the CK
That's it - you should be good to go.

For more complex mods,  this guide explains the whole process in detail
      https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17990?tab=description

      Good luck!

Gary!! Good to hear from you.  Hope you are well. I have forgotten many things as well lol but one thing I haven't is Hindalok. It is still in my load order. I can't tell you how many characters have called it home. It gives me such happiness. Riverwood reminds me of the small village in the foothills of the Swiss Alps that I grew up in. And the cabin is very reminiscent of what I called home. I guess that is why all of my characters always settle in Riverwood. They wander all of Skyrim but always come home to Hindalok. On a whim I dropped the esp into SSE and I was shocked, it worked! Have been using it for over a week now and so far, no issues. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will continue to work. If not, I will continue on with old Skyrim lol.
      Take care.

All these years and still going strong. This has been home to to all of my characters. It has been filled with lots of love and laughter. It continues to bring a smile to my face every time a character is born and returns "Home" for the first time. Today will be the day another wood elf will find herself crossing the bridge to make it her home.
    Hope you are well Gary.
    Blessings.

    Hello Gary,
Just stopping in to wish you a Happy Holiday and praying that all is well with you and that you are doing better..Another year and another play through behind me and Hindalok continues to be Home Sweet Home. Just started a new play through and settled in for a nice and cozy Saturalia. Have a wonderful Holiday.
    Be blessed.

This has remained my home through various characters for years. A lot of great house mods, but this one has such a special place in my heart. I'm still sticking it out in original Skyrim. For whatever reason, the original version is more stable for me than SE.

Sorry to read about your health concerns. Hope you're doing better, Gary. Thanks again for such a wonderful home.

Another blast from the past. Hi, Ondrea. Thanks, I'm much better now though still a mute - doesn't hurt my typing though. It just means I can't laugh aloud and have a difficult time winning any arguments. So good to hear from you. Appreciate it and hope you're also doing well. Take care. gary

    Hi Gary :)
5605 hours in Skyrim and this is still Home Sweet Home. I've started a few characters in SE but always come home to here. I have yet to find a good home in SE. It really is a shame that this can't be ported to SE. I know you've tried and I thank you for that. So I will just continue on in old Skyrim :) Hope things are going well for you.

Hi, Z. This has been a really sucky year health-wise, but you're catching me at a good time. Kidney stones were removed this past week and though radiation treatment on my throat has left me speechless it appears to have taken care of the cancer. Still have fingers crossed on that one. But today I feel great. First time in almost a year. Hope all is well with you and it's always great hearing from you.

Sorry to hear it but I can totally relate to health issues. I just had cataract surgery on my left eye and waiting for surgery on my right eye in a few weeks. Ah the joys of the "Golden Years". I'll cross my fingers and toes for your complete recovery and throw in a few prayers as well. Never hurts to cover all bases :) Well wishes to you, take good care of yourself.

Lovely mod :) Only thing missing is a way to grow plants like potatoes maybe.
Love all the little details you put in this home, great job!
