do u plan to make armor aswell. if you do can i make a suggestion: it would be cool if it was a lightweight chainmail with metal stuff on it that isnt skimpy. i dont like those bulky armors that look like ur character is gonna tap over. ps. cool looking shield like the detail on it will endores as soon nexus lets me
Chances are I won't, I don't really have the skills to make armor, plus there was no "armor of Martin" in the Redwall book (though there was in the cartoon based on the book, but I'm not going off that). There is some realistic Viking chainmail hanging around the Nexus, though, and there's also a rendition of the Mithril armor from Oblivion by Maty that might fit the shield too.
Looks great. Very high quality. It looks like it will last through many battles. It does hang very close the the arm and body though, due to the size and angle of the handle, which means clipping through gauntlets, etc. This is a common issue for shields, particularly with some non-standard idle and animation packs. Do you know how to adjust the angle so the top tilts out just a little? Favouredsouls' Westland Rondache is a good example of what I mean, and it also has a slightly extended handle. I think that's why Bethesda made the characters arms hang the way they do. It looks unnatural, but it minimizes clipping of shields with arms, weapons, etc.
Yeah, I'll fix that with the update that'll add the heavy armor version. I'd just need to rotate the shield some so it's at an angle rather than completely level. Glad you like the shield though. :3
Well done too for adding a small backstory to the item... none of this "abandoned under the same bridge as everything else in Riverwood". It is always a delight to come across items with a story, lore and intelligent placement.
