Thanks after years of listening to the same vanilla sounds, I was looking for something different and I found your mod by chance, I installed it and I had no problem, thank you very much.

It’s too loud. Louder than other sounds.

The only weapons going 'whoosh' should be the mace and warhammer.

Thanks for this, but personally I am less than enthusiastic about this mod.
    - takes up two esp spots in the load order, while as replacer it really should take up zero.
    - the majority of vanilla sounds are more appropriate imho. The shield blocking sounds of ISW are particularly disappointing in comparison, both for blades and projectiles. The blade vs. blade parrying sounds are very nice though.
    - some fx are too loud, whereas others aren't loud enough
    - installation options should be explained better. "Smooth" is not an attribute I can correlate with combat noises.
I do realize this is largely a matter of personal taste, anyone's mileage will be different here.
    Thanks anyway.

Edit: the inaudible sheathing sound seems to be a problem of my system, not of this mod. Because I found that even without this mod, the sound is missing or inaudible for 1hd blades, so I edited my comments accordingly. Sorry about that.

Edit II: this is strange. I get perfect sheathing and unsheathing sounds for all weapons except 1hd swords. A 1hd sword will only give me the annoying enchantment "whoosh" when unsheathing and no sound at all when sheathing. However, all my weapons have the same enchantment so there shouldn't be any difference. Go figure...

Brilliant Mod. I used the absolutely realistic mode which has swords not making any `swhiiing` sounds. It`s absolutely great not hearing that stupid metallic sound every time I pull a sword or put it away. It`s really, really immersive for me because I know this is much closer to how it would sound in real life. I have two swords, a Western-type sword and a katana type sword and they don`t make `swhiiiinggg!` sounds when removed or put back. No matter how fast you do it. I also like the much simpler bow sounds too.

    Endorsed!

I wanted to like this mod, but I actually know what weapons sound like so it is a bit difficult to enjoy. First of all the SHIIIINNNG of when you draw a sword; THAT IS NOT A THING! The most realistic sound for most of the 1 handed weapon draw sounds is the vanilla mace sound effect. The only reason your sword would have such a loud metal screeching sound when you unsheathe it is if it has a sheathe with metal on the inside, and that is a bif no-no. That dulls your blade, and, metal tends to contract in the cold, so if you have a metal sheath, you may not be able to use your weapon.
Second of all, the swing sounds. Again, the vanilla ones are much more immersive to be honest. When you swing a sword, mace, axe etc, you don't hear that metallic ringing sound. The vanilla sounds are much more realistic, and in my opinion, more immersive.
Third, and finally, the impact sounds. It sounds like you are taking a piece of metal and dragging it very quickly across another piece of metal. When you hit something hard with a piece of metal, like a sword, it is going to make a very loud clang, not some weak scratching sound.
In my opinion, not very realistic, and not very immersive.

Does it also bother you that dialog in game and film scripts are nothing at all like how conversations happen in real life? Or that lighting, scenery, laws of physics etc are entirely too convenient?

Most people are probably well aware that all of these things are bullshit in the world of fiction. But they are still entirely willing to suspend their disbelief over it. And they probably don't bring up things like unrealistic dialog in a condescending manner just because they happen to know how people talk to eachother in real life.

I've always hated the 'Hollywood' styled things. Over dramatic and such. I think the modder was saying something about allowing people to choose whether they have the stylised version or a realistic version. Which i think is a good idea because peoples preferences are kinda split down the middle.

Did you even take a look at the alternative options?

You didn't even tried to use the mod, right? You just wanted to say "i know how weapons sounds like".

First of all: there is a option with "more realistic, leather-ish sound" for when you draw your weapon, and the sound is extremely realistic.

Second: there is a option to "no metallic ringing sound" when swing weapons.
Oh, also, this metallic sound is actually real. It is possible to produce such sound in real life, but isn't common. So yeah....

Thirt: the "clank" depends of the situation. Even in real life the sound can be like this mod. If you really knew how weapons sound, you would now that when you >change the trajectory< of your opponent's sword or whatever, you don't STOP it, you need to slide your sword, forcing the blow to another direction, and that is exactly "taking a piece of metal and dragging it very quickly across another piece of metal".
But as I said, it depends.

The mod is as immersive as possible, and you don't know what are you talking about. Just because you know about weapons doesn't mean you know every sound one can make, unless you're a warrior or real good fighter and already experienced all possible sounds that a real duel can produce. And if you was, you wouldn't be in a mod page s#*! talking with arrogance and showing your ignorance to us.
      But good try.

Maybe you need to learn to read? You didn`t check the options did you? Before berating someone about a Mod, first have the sense to scheck the other options which have a `No schwiinnng!` sounds. I know because I checked before making up stuff in my head about his mod.

I want all the sounds from this except the bow sounds, I'd rather use the ultra realistic bow sounds mod. I'll probably have to make a thread asking how to get what I want here.
