Ok peeps so its been a while & still the chest remains unchanged......thats because my CK broke & i havent been able to download it again due to not having internet for ages, however i have put it in the 'cheat & god item' category for now, until such time as i can redownload CK...thanks for your patience & suggestions

I don't think anyone has found the secret stash. I haven't found it either. As for the main chest. I agree with many, however, including some of the starter enchanted items, I would have one disenchant-able item for alchemy and one for smithing. Reason, they are two of your main items. You can find most of the other stuff later. No more than 20-30 lockpicks. One of the mods I use allows you to forge the picks. A very good bow, not necessarily a daedric bow, but perhaps a glass bow. Less than a 1000 arrows please. Leather armor with the increased health would be good.

Ok so later today i will open the CK & get to work on editing this mod to be less OP & more 'starter' friendly, however i would appreciate it if those of you that have any ideas on what to add, what to take out & how many of each item should be in the starter chest not the secret chest people either cant find or just wont say anything about, so please feel free to leave any suggestions & constructive criticism & thanks again

Going with what byr0nx says below, stick with things that you're likely to find at lower levels (i.e. made with leather, iron or steel). Since you're making this as a generic starter, bear in mind that you don't know what type of character others will build nor what level of difficulty they might use, so try to include something to accommodate everyone: one full set of heavy armor, one full set of light armor, novice robes and hood, a one-handed weapon of iron or steel, a two-handed weapon of iron or steel, shield, bow, arrows (maybe 30 iron and 10 steel to start?), 10-20 lockpicks, potions (maybe 10 each of Minor Healing, Minor Health and Minor Stamina, and 2 of Cure Disease?). As far as spell books, I'd include Lesser Ward, Oakflesh, Frostbite and Conjure Familiar. Anything that the player doesn't need they can always sell to Lucan for some shiny, clinky gold. ;-)

Though having a chest so full of stuff at the start of the game is a bit game breaking since you'll probably end selling most of it for gold. You already get a lot of stuff at the start of the game from all the guys you looted. I guess mages are the one that needs items the most, staves are pretty rare on my hand for exemple.

@Malkadir - I suppose you're right about that for most gamers. I was just thinking from my own most recent character, but I have several mods that alter my startup so much that those sort of things would be a godsend to 'stumble' across. I use Trade & Barter on medium difficulty, which means the extra stuff wouldn't get me much coin. I also use Alternate Start-Live Another Life and bypass the Helgen scene, so I don't end up with all the loot you normally get there.

Firstly i appreciate the comments, secondly i want to give a quick thankyou to those who have viewed this & even bigger thankyou to those that have downloaded it , thirdly, this is not intended to be a cheat mod or way to OP, im new to the CK & have limited experience so i just put in what i liked, ill take your comments & suggestions into consideration & may change things, i may create a new chest or just take stuff from the starter chest & add it into my secret chest included with this mod, speaking of which has anyone found it yet??

Looking at the description, it seems you went way overboard with this, "starter" set, no offense intended. You added WAY too much good stuff and a ridiculous amount of arrows, lockpicks etc. It breaks the immersion of getting new gear early on. A starter set should consist of low level gear with minor enchantments and so on. Just my two cents...

I completely agree. Branded iron armor & leather would be better along with steel weapons and a few potions. also iron ingots and leather/stips for low level improvement.

Agree with both of you. Being too overpowered totally kills the fun of the game. Would get boring very quickly...

ill third that... i have a play through right now at level 33 that hasn't seen a sniff of daedric items yet, and you put them into a "starter" chest? seems more like a "cheat" chest to me, and whats the point of playing this game if your going to cheat... not like this game doesn't make you overpowered enough on its own, what need is there to add to it?

I amend my comment then. However this could be considered a cheat mod in its current state
