This would be a killer mod if you could get the map right up in your face, fill the view and use GameBanshees map: http://majamaki.com/2011/12/skyrim-maps/
This is awesome for immersion and has a lot much potential to replace vanilla map. Some idea's.
- Add map markers. - Add a hotkey (Like Torch Hotkey) to stay zoomed in allowing you to click on markers (use M for map). Remove vanilla map completely. - Possibly add a cartographer to one of the major cities where you can purchase/craft the maps from. - Make the map a bit translucent so sunlight glows through.
Hello, nice mod. Does it replace world map or is it a separate map? Couldn't find that in description. I disable map key through software before playing Skyrim so i really appreciate what you did or what you could do.
A bit OT but i think you would like the idea:
This mod is a very nice start to a more serious realism enhancing modification which would be - visible quest targets in craftable map and real time flow while viewing it (or in all the menu windows, so, lockpicking as well).
I find it immersion killing when, while chased by a dragon, my character stops time for a few minutes just to fetch a potion recipe from his inventory to see what ingredients he should gather along the way. Or when getting overwhelmed by a group of high rank mages, he is able to micro manage his inventory, drink several potions AND change clothes / armor to gain desired resistances in no time and then melt their surprised faces.
Real time menus shouldnt be hard to make, should it?
By the way, to complete my suggestion of your further work, i think, disabling local maps would be great. It is way more satisfying to dive in a dungeon, fetch that quest item and find your way out of the depths of it without the aid of an ultimate GPS thingy.
I too would use this awesome mod if i could write down either where i am, or map markers
one thing you could do maybe, is use a spell maybe? so the player can cast a spell at any point, and this spell shows up as a marker on the map? so if i want to know where i am, i cast my spell and a dot appears on the map? so that the player either has to mark their own landmarks? it would be cool if you could keep them on there, so its a personal map created by the player, and would be even better if you could have a journal with it, so that you could write notes to yourself, so add an x marker, then write in your journal,
(this could be impossible, a s#*! idea, not wanted or any combination of the above, just throwing out ideas as to how we could make this map the ONLY map you need to traverse skyrim. even if it does make it much harder

Best regards.
a very nice option would be to see the players marker and/or the active quests
