Throughout my various play throughs of Skyrim, the over abundance of rare Ingots plus their mineral components on smiths and merchants has ultimately trivialized blacksmithing. These components are supposed to be rare, but unfortunately the vendors of Skyrim seem to start magicly improving their stock after the player reaches level 10 or so.
This mod removes rare ingots and their corresponding ores from vendors throughout Skyrim restoring rarity. You now have an incentive to carry a pickaxe again or perhaps learn which mines carry which ore in Skyrim. Smelting down found gear is now more valuable.
I recommend playing with JK- Crafting Breakdown as an alternate way of acquiring higher level materials. Other mods such as Immersive Weapons also have their own smelting recipes.
It does not require any DLC. It may and will conflict with any mod that increases the amount of materials found on vendors or perhaps the pricing of said materials.
