Awesome weapon mod. Unique and very powerful. Totally underrated mod. I endorsed this a long time ago and checked up on the mod only to find 75 endorsements. This is shameful. C'mon people, this is great stuff. Don't like Star Trek? Who cares! It's a great weapon and with the right two handed animation mod this thing sings. Klingon opera anyone?

Well, at least in the base game, I see no reason why it shouldn't get the perks, since it IS of type greatsword. I have both two- and one-handed trees full at the moment, so I can't see what happens if I take one of those perks, but the damage indicated in the invenory is on par with some of my other two-handers that have the same base damage, and I'm pretty sure I'm geting at least the 2h bonuses from clothes enchants and the 2h killmoves from Dance Of Death. And it doesn't feel any less powerful than the other 2h swords at taking down the Better Vampires vampire hunters. (I use them as an example because they're VERY tough.) So I'd say it's a two-hander all right.

Well, that is, in the base game. If you've reprocced it with SkyRe or something else, I wouldn't know, since I don't use any such overhauls personally. I would guess it would still be treated just like a normal two-handed sword, but I have no idea.

As for other kinds of bat'leths, well, the problem is the animations, really. If you look at where the hands are on the grip in Skyrim, in New Vegas, and when parrying in 3rd person in New Vegas, that gives you exactly the 4 ends of the grips. So, yeah, it's designed to fit the game animations, really. Something with 3 grips like a modern bat'leth would cause clippling unless it's made much larger. And a single grip one like the Sword Of Kahless would sit too high on the shoulder in Skyrim and be unusable in New Vegas because of clipping with the hands. Again, unless made much larger or otherwise given a grip as big as the two on this one combined.

Or what kinds did you have in mind?

I am however idly toying with the idea of making a mek'leth sometime. Maybe a d'k tahg too?

I've been having a great time using this with my Orc. Only down side is that I don't want to use anything else

Just wondering if on the perk tree will the greatsword perks apply to this as well? I did read that the damage is based off that but just making sure.

Also any thoughts of making other style of bat'leths?

I've been wanting a Bat'leth for quite a while and thanks for the retexturing guide. I think I'll make mine a bronze blade, not exactly lore friendly for either Star Trek or TES, but it should be fun anyway

Sto-vo-kor, and Sovengarde. I never drew a correlation between Skyrim/Norse mythology and Star Trek until now. O__O Even with the whole, "Temba-Wide-Arm NPC thing.

Anyway, this mod rocks lol. I have to run all the patches and reprocessor all over again on account of SkyRe. But for Star trek-- I will do lol.

Well, there are significant differences between Norse and Klingon mythologies too, so don't feel too bad about overlooking the similarities. Especially since Gene Roddenberry never actually said what the new Klingons are based on, and many of the similarities people list actually apply to several other warrior cultures.

E.g., here's what Lactantius writes about the ancient Getae: "We have conquered even these Getai (Dacians), the most warlike of all people that have ever existed, not only because of the strength in their bodies, but, also due to the teachings of Zalmoxis who is among their most hailed. He has told them that in their hearts they do not die, but change their location and, due to this, they go to their deaths happier than on any other journey."

So, yeah, they had a spiritual leader who was once a mortal, but now his disciples went gladly to die in battle because then they go to him in the afterlife. Sounds a bit like Kahless to me :p

Oh yeah, and they used a brutal, forward curved sword, that could split a Roman shield or go right through a Roman helmet. (The Emperor Trajan had to add armoured sleeves and helmet bracing to counter that, in order to fight them.) Sounds kinda conceptually similar to a bat'leth like to me. In fact, a bat'leth can be seen as a quad falx :p

But in the end, it's probably not important which culture they parallel the most. What matters is we die well and go to Sto-Vo-Kor, and in the meantime raise a mug of bloodwine to those who already did :p

      Nice bit of history there.

You're making me miss TNG and DS9 quite a bit though. J.J. Abraham's adaptations are entertaining, but it's no Star Trek. Anyway, cool mod. I'm just hoping the reproccer doesn't nerf it so much depending on what it's scaled to. Finally tracked down that damn CTD script today (after a month of troubleshooting lol). Hopefully I'll be beating ppl up Klingon style soon.

Btw, 318 unique downloads with only 7 endorsements? Endorse this piece of Star Trek awesomeness ppl! xD

    Nicely done,now i need a klingon follower
Someone should do a mod....klingons stranded on the planet nirn to pursuit a gorn, because he done something against the empire or had something very important. now the gorn is worshipped by some argonians as a new god and they protect him
the player can help the klingon group and become some goodies maybe disruptor (magical staff) klingon armor and so on.

Ist not directly lorefriendly, but hey the elder scrolls plays on an other planet somewhere in the galaxie.....and maybe :O)

Lol, that sounds like a fun quest. Just the mental image of a bunch of Argonians worshipping a Gorn gives me a giggle.

Oh, and btw, thanks for the nice pics.

    And the update is up.

    - Added the embossed version of the blade, for those who want to publicly display their allegiance to the Empire. The Klingon insignia is not simply mirrored between the blade faces, so the "arms" twist in the right direction when viewed from either side of the blade.

    - Added the brown version of the wrap, since there is an awful lot of brown leather in Skyrim, and most vanilla weapon hilts and sheaths are brown. (Though exactly how much that does to make a Star Trek weapon fit in Skyrim... that's another topic :p )

    - More blood on the blade

    - Increased the blade thickness slightly, to a quarter of an inch, up from 0.22 inch. Nothing spectacular, but it was a bit thin.

    - Increased the grip thickness a bit too

    - Increased the amount of materials a little, since this has a lot more blade than a normal two-hander

    - Reduced the price, since crafting and selling these was like printing your own money. (Well, it still is, just not as ludicriously profitable as in 1.0)

    - Minor texture and mesh tweaks

Yep. That's the one that inspired this.

Hmm... I should probably add an embossed Klingon Empire logo on this one too...

As an update: Almost done with the 3d embossed logo too, but I'll have to test and polish it too. I hope to have an update by tomorrow.

Looks really awesome, downloading as we speak, only one thing.

Any chance of maybe lowering the position it sheathes into? judging from the screenshots it sits abit high. Other than that, can't wait to try it

I don't think I can lower it, unfortunately. It's the same position as for any two-hander sword, with the grip sitting just above the shoulder. However, in this case the grip starts near the middle of the sword, so that'll be half the sword above your shoulder.

The problem is that even if I changed the animations to lower it, as I was saying, it's the position for any two-hander, so that would screw up the vanilla weapons.
