> "Speaking" to the Black Sword is now done through a lesser power instead of an item. A few modifications have been made as well, namely: Striking a target the Sword won't kill will no longer proc the sound and imagespace modifier, these are now handled in the sword's scripts. The blade now gets wreathed in flame when launching its Fire power. If you've already obtained the True Black Sword, be sure to drop it and pick it back up to refresh the scripts on it.
> Added the Lightning Whip, the Juggernaut Hammer, the Hammer of Dedication and the mundane Battle Hammer. The Battle Hammer is level-listed (and can be crafted), so be sure to use a Seeding Crystal to refresh the level-lists.
> Fixed the Falmer pod at the end of the Infested Caves being inaccessible.
> Replaced the stone walkways at the end of the Infested Caves with falmer bridges
> Moved the Hoe of Destruction's shed again.
> Changed the Magebane's display case in the Archmage's Quarters to be Master locked rather than strictly requiring the archmage's key. It still can be unlocked with said key but the case can now be picked, in case you're a thiefy type or misplaced the key.
> Reduced the duration of the Death Scythe's effects from 30 minutes to 30 seconds. Also reduced its base damage very slightly.
> Added Blackrock Dwarven Armor
> Revised how the Great Dagger handles the appearance of its sword form, so the dagger itself now disappears when swung, allowing its sword form to take its place and not overlap it.
> Revised the enchantment visuals for the Fire Swords, so their flames now move in response to attacks and general motion. Also changed them to use normal sword swing sounds.
AoU will work on SE/AE regardless of game version. However, this is the Legendary Edition modpage, so if you downloaded the mod from here and installed it onto AE Skyrim, that'd be why it's not working. You'll want to grab the mod from the Special Edition modpage.
Finally got to a Black sword dungeon and stumbled on a pretty serious issue: when I go through gate to another realm and use Elder scroll there at the other gate, the game crashes on me - every single time I try to do it. Did someone have similar problems or is it purely an issue with my install?
There's a custom sound file that plays when you use the Scroll there, what might be going on is the same issue I ran into when adding custom music to that cell, in that packaging the BSA with compression enabled causes the game to crash when it tries to load the .wav files from the BSA. You should be able to circumvent it by opening the BSA with an archive extractor like B.A.E and extracting the sound files found in sound\fx\ultima to your Data folder. As long as you have Archive Invalidation set up the game will favor the loose sound files over what's in the BSA. For the next update I'll make sure not to package the archive as compressed in order to avoid this.
I rarely comment on mods just to congratulate author for their hard work, but this one absolutely deserves the praise - it is simply the best weapon compilation mod I have seen. The textures are amazing, the enchantment effects on weapons are all unique and fun to use (and never run out of charges, so no hassle there), and the way to use it - through collecting torn notes in taverns all around Skyrim and searching from the text, no quest markers or objectives - is really immersive. Plus you have long-term epic goal in figuring out what is the Blackrock you find in certain dwarven ruins is used for. Me, I never played Ultima, but the author's love for the series really shows, so fans of it would be even more pleased. There are some minor bugs (like Great Dagger texture disappearing sometimes, forcing you to drop and re-equip it to fix it), but nothing major.
It is truly mind-boggling that this excellent mod has so few endorsements and is currently on page 10 if you sort by them, behind such, ahem, illustrious creations like "Imperial Centurion battle dress" and retextures like "Real bows". This one is enhances your Skyrim playthrough immensely , gives you a lot of cool toys to play with and is now a staple in my playthroughs. Give it a try!
Hi, I have blank black sword, lexicon and ether gem but I dont know what should I do next? There is a forge which doesnt have any crafting option and a dark chamber gate which requires a key( but I didnt have any idea where is the key). All I have is that 3 component, no other things. Also I tried to find a place to put the lexicon but I couldnt find
The key to the Dark Chamber is on the table where you found the Lexicon. Once you get that, you should be able to progress; the Lexicon stand is in that chamber and once used, the Lexicon will "unlock" the forge, so to speak. But, I should mention the process for crafting the Black Sword isn't the same as any other weapon: you have to go to the anvil right by the forge (it's the one closest to the forge gears, not the one by the smelter, that's a normal smithing anvil) in order to refine the Black Sword, then you can craft an Unbalanced Black Sword at the forge itself. Once you have an Unbalanced Black Sword, you can use the Ether Gem. But, it's not a crafting ingredient; you have to "use" the Ether Gem by clicking on it in your inventory in order to fuse it to the Unbalanced sword.
It is, yeah. The maze can be a little tricky if you don't quite get what to do, but it's not impossible. If you're stuck you can check the wiki, or PM me if you'd rather.
Hello. I am a localiser from a Russian Skyrim community called Coldharbour.ru Your mod has interested me so I ask your permission to translate it into Russian and to upload it on our site. All credits will be mentioned
How are you trying to install it? Manually or with a mod manager like Vortex? If the former, you just need the 2.5 version (I can see in your download history you grabbed it as well as several older versions, you don't need any of those), which you can then open up with a program like 7Zip or WinZip. From there you want to extract all the files inside the zip file to your Data folder. If you don't know where your Data folder is, it's located in your Skyrim install directory. For Steam that'd be Steam\Steamapps\Common\Skyrim\Data. Once it's in there, you need to activate it, either through the Data Files section on the vanilla launcher or through something like Wrye Bash. Wrye Bash is what I personally use.
If you're using Vortex, though, once again you only need the 2.5 version, running older version concurrently will cause major problems. With Vortex you need to make sure the mod's been deployed. I think there's a bit more to it than that, but I don't use Vortex so I don't have much familiarity with it, so if you're using that you may want to look up how to install mods with it.
Futhermore, make sure you're getting the right version of the mod for your game. If you're playing on Special Edition, you're on the wrong mod page and should grab 2.5 from here. But if you are on Oldrim\Legendary edition, then you don't need to worry about that.
A Paladin is a warrior of light who uses physical strength and holy magic to fight undead, demons and unholy creatures. You need to read up on fantasy tropes, my friend.
At a glance it seems that way, but that's not the case. The phrase "what's a paladin?" is in reference to Ultima 9, which was...hot garbage, to say the least. It rendered the Avatar, the protagonist of the Ultima games, a complete boob who not only had to ask what a paladin was (despite the fact they had adventured with a paladin for years and could be considered one themselves), but also what the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom is, and the Codex is basically the Bible of the belief system the Avatar follows.
Ive had your mod about since it first came out (steam workshop version tho) and ive loved it. Only question i have is: any chance we could get a guide or more hints on the blacksword quest? i feel like im going to lose my marbles!
(Oh wow I wasn't expecting a reply so soon, thanks!) so I've made it to the mystic forge, found 3 untranslatable dwemer books and also found the unusable version of the sword also in the forge room. I've searched everywhere nearby (the forge, portal room, and the nearby tunnels) and yet I can't seem to locate any more of the needed materials.
The books can be translated, but you need the Ancient Knowledge perk you gain from the Unfathomable Depths quest to do so. The books are mostly lore so they're not strictly necessary for making the sword (though one does mention an important item you'll need to make the true Black Sword). What is important is the lexicon. If you have the 3 books then you've no doubt used the Lexicon, which means you should have the knowledge now to work blackrock, so you can make at least Unbalanced and Calibrated Black Swords. The approach is a little different from normal crafting, though; through the Forge you can make the pieces you need, but they have to be taken to the anvil next to the forge to work those pieces. Since you have the complete sword blank you'll be able to refine it using said anvil and use the result to make an Unbalanced sword, which you'll want to hold onto if you want to make the true Black Sword.
The aforementioned important item needed to make the true Black Sword requires you to go deeper. If you haven't been already, you need to delve into the Infested Caves, which can be accessed at the bottom of the mine, or via the central drain in the Deep Cistern.
The final step of making the black sword does not involve an anvil or forge. When you have the important item and an unbalanced sword, use the important item in your inventory.
I love this! So many TES fans don't know how important Ultima is to our beloved Elder Scrolls games. If it hadn't been for Ultima Underworld, Arena's creators might not have been inspired to take the direction they did.
