Been looking for a mod like this. I don't see how the carriage drivers manage to survive on such a meager income. I know I wouldn't escort anyone across the world for 20 coins.
Could you make an option to just charge a heavy amount of cost for fast traveling anywhere?
I like the no fast travel mod, but I found myself needing to fast travel for a few reason, like fixing followers not following, or little things like going to sky haven temple when I get to the foot of the place there...
This way, I would get discouraged to fast travel (from anywhere) because its so costly, but still be given that option to pay up a heavy tax to be able to fast travel anywhere for "emergencies" and whatnot.
In the mod "Frostfall", there is an option is disable fast traveling only if you aren't carrying a wood axe (based off the idea that if you have that tool, you'll be able to survive in the wild) it's my favorite option by far for disabling fast travel, because like you said the feature is mandatory in niche situations.
Yeah, while I am playing I constantly thinking, "Damn, I have too much money, I don't want to buy anything, and I don't want to just drop it all out on the road. I wish that I had to pay more for travelling." Now my prayers have been answered.
Fast travelling isn't teleporting. It's just allowing you to skip manually walking and just kind of 'auto-travel'. As in, you fall asleep, and your body takes you somewhere, and it's as if you've teleported, but you've actually been walking.
I like the idea of this mod but i'm waiting until your able to reflect the increased cost within the display of the game. Not to be nitpicky, I just prefer to have it that way. Tracking!

(Anyways, these kinds of mods work because no one actually needs to buy anything -- the game is designed so that everything can be optional, depending on how you play -- and sometimes it's just nice to have things to spend money on.)
For simplicity sake the file has been revised to 10x vanilla costs (no normalization). If you liked the old versions, keep them as they are no longer available. I've renamed the mod to Travel Tax, as it is going to be included as part of another mod i'll be releasing soon.
I recommend using this mod with the "No Fast Travel" mod, and a mod of your choosing that lowers your run speed. (if you want a run speed mod, request it and i will upload)
Unfortunately, i can't raise the cost of a horse at this point.

New clothes and robe designs, a weapon that looks like a garden rake, Interesting and special house decorations, things to put on the dresser, stuff like that.

They should add brothels!
expensive and without possibility of pickpocketing... that should easily solve problem of too much money
Wow, glad I was lucky enough to stumble upon this.
I have that Cut throat mod already and a while after using it I was hoping to find something to increase inn cost; since my noob archer can't afford a home and I thought 10g inns made having one less useful.
But to add even more expensive travel costs is even greater!
I don't fast travel as is, so it's good to know there's a mod to disable it.
It'll be a nice preventative measure just in case the lazy in me tries to fast travel.
Well now I can't, so suck on that, me!
