   Well, this is extremely helpful. Have been trying for a while to find an actually functional Hroki companion mod but none exist. This worked flawlessly. Even works in Special Edition.

      Copy/paste. Someone higher up had better luck with the skyrim folder than the data folder fyi

   FOR ALL OF YOU WHO ARE PLACING THE FILES INSIDE THE DATA FOLDER. THAT, IS THE PROBLEM!!YOU DO "NOT", PLACE "BAT", FILES (INSIDE OF DATA FOLDER), YOU HAVE TO PLACE THEM IN THE FOLDER WITH THE SKYRIM.EXE FILES AND SKSE FILES..... YOU WENT ONE FOLDER TOO DEEP.

      Because you don't write "name_of_file" you write "follower" or "spouse" whatever the name of the file you want used on the npc is called

   I tried to get Fastred, Freir & Ingun as followers but doesn't work. The codes are correctly entered by the console but she doesn't offer to join me.

      I have the same issue for my own follower. I am trying to get him to marry me and thought after exhausted all known problems with programming in creation kit that this would be easier fix, but nope...

   Just a PSA, I'm on Windows 10 and copied files into skyrim/data. Could type bat follower into console fine but no in game effect. Moved .txt files into skyrim folder instead, now works perfectly. Hope it helps somebody!
