Hey everyone. Sorry for any delays or non-response that has taken place over the past 5 days or so. I have been on vacation in Mexico but have just arrived back home today.
Before I left I started to write the code for my own nmm installer package, since the current file is only set up for BAIN or manual install. Like many modders, i am only an enthusiast and not professional game designer or programmer, so everything I need for the mod I have to learn on my own and teach myself. I really enjoy doing it because it provides me with a good challenge and is fun improving the game, etc. However, for some things (like NMM installer) it will take longer to get if I have to teach myself. But if someone else is willing to lend me a hand then it may not take as long. Thus, my thanks go out to sparrowprince again for letting me use his installer package which he kindly adapted from mossrocks installer

Long story short, I will posting an official update with the installer very soon!

In other news, the update after that will include several individualized UV map fixes to some of the meshes that seem to stretch the ash textures too much. If there are any users savvy enough to notice any stretching and identify which mesh it belongs to (or refid/formid), please report these to me so i can take an individualized look at the mesh and UV map and make any necessary adjustments.

Within the next few days i will be working on finishing the sulfur mod. My plan is to first expand coverage to include a larger variety of objects so that all/most objects that are visible in each "scene" are covered by the new sulfur. Then, once that is done, I will try to resolve any bugs that arise (i.e. from mixing blood decals with the new sulfur decal).

I have something that I need to ask more experienced members of the community:

1.) Is there a way to enable transparency in the alpha properties of the branch with my decal in it? As it currently stands, my texture is either rendered or it is not rendered (1 or 0) based on the the alpha value of the pixel relative to the alpha threshold I set in the mesh. Is there a way to have transparency on the decal itself, such that i can see the sulfur decal, but slight transparency allows me to see the rock/mountain texture underneath? This is something I have not been able to do, so if anyone more experienced than me can give me some advice, please send me a message.

Any other thoughts or comments about the mod in general, please let me know.

    Thanks for a great mod.
Is it possible to merge eps's from 1.2.1 Ash Rocks and "Ash Rocks - All-In-One Installer - NMM and BAIN" 1.21?

    Cheers

I came here because of Better Dynamic Snow. The author there suggested the mod. I have to say quite honestly - I don't like this. The original approach of Bethesda was better, even if it was just a gray paint. Reason is: This ash isn't realistic at all. It's scattered at several places of the rock and is too grainy. Looks more like grit to me.

Since I had to clean ovens in my childhood I know that ash doesn't work that way. It sticks everywhere. Spill it over a rock and it will be all grey. Now imagine what a volcanic eruption would have down to Solstheim. Factor in the wind which spreads the ash also all over the rocks. The complete grey look is ok. A better texture would be great. A little more grained than vanilla maybe.

    But that's just my opinion.

Double post but i think i found a fix. I am in no way versed in the creation kit but if you open up sulfur rocks and find the rocks in the static list (search for sulfur under all). Find DirtCliffs02VolcanicDirt01Sulfur and double click and then where it says model click edit. Now delete the new texture next to roots and voila. Do this for DirtCliffsCornerOutVolcanicDirt01Sulfur and DirtCliffsIsland01VolcanicDirt01Sulfur also as they seem to have the same problems. Only glanced at it ingame but this seems to have worked

Edit: if this was already known, sorry but i hadn't seen a fix anywhere

Has anyone else noticed the wierd texture on one of the sulfur rocks near the atronach stone? it seems to be something wrong with the mesh

Edit: its like its change the roots on the rock to a stone texture, if you look around the edge of all the other rocks there are weird stone textures on the bottom as well

Use both of them together, Ash and sulfer.

This mod crashes the game when uninstalled and looks like snow more than ash. Didn't liked it.
