Hi guys, this mod is long dead. I wish I still have time to revamp it, but sadly I've gotten bored of Skyrim since I've seen everything she has to offer due to my time with the creation kit. It's an amazing game and so much can be done with modding, I just wish we all had the time and patience to work it.. I would literally rewrite the entire game to be an open ended sandbox simulator, instead of the linear story driven action game we get.
Anyways, some notes:
1. Use the damn cheat if you can't get the quest to work. "Set AAIsHighKing to 1" 2. Voice acting support is difficult to add because it requires collaboration. 3. I wish other modders would pick up the idea of being able to change the lives of the default NPC's in Skyrim (not new ones added by mods). Jail them, execute them, enslave them or promote them, anything really... I hate seeing the same NPC's doing the same thing over and over again, part of me wants to change them - give them a better life. 4. See you in the next moddable Fallout/TES game! 5. I admire all the modders who still take the time to make amazing mods, doing something as simple as making a little room can be such a huge timesink. 6. You are given permission to edit this mod and repost it in any way shape or form you want. The mod can easily be opened up and edited.
This is a really fun mod, if you are not going to return to it, then I hope somebody else will take the reins and contribute to it. Thank you for your hard work.
I actually have had no problems with this mod and have really enjoyed it. Thanks for all your hard work on it! I hope someone will take over and make for more content.
I dont know if you look at this or not but just in case I run your mod with the multiple marriage system and Elisf acts like any other wife in skyrim and it completes the option for that.I know you had said that you couldnt get her or ulfric to work as normal spouses so if you cast the npc operater spell on either one they act like regular spouses this can be done before starting the quest or after.Just one more thing this mod is my favorite thank you so much for it!
yeah, beth screwed up hard with Skyrim, modders had (or simply wanted) to make it better and they did, but beth's way made it so hard to make this game be what it should that everyone faced countless problems and many mod ideas were trashed away due to lack of time and scripting barriers.
One thing I know for sure, I ain't purchasing any beth games again, I've only being able to make 1 playthrough with Skyrim in vanilla mode playing as I did the first time with both morrowind and oblivion, in both cases game pace was alright and ended up with me inside a real sandbox experience.
Skyrim didn't, in skyrim I've finished the game at lvl 7 or 8, it was ridiculous, the aftermath of the main quest had thrown me in a boredom blackhole, I've surfaced from that and tried playing only to find the game to be filled with meta-gaming / lore inconsistencies such as 90% of the shouts being useless, magic being useless, no class no guidelines, lack of depth and immersion, bad story ending where u never became the high king / emperor when it was the most logical aftermath, lack of overall fun...
Then I've modded and modded and modded(not made mods but downloaded a sh*tload of them), and even with all the mods making the game bearable, it's still dull and unimaginative, I always findmyself fighting against meta-gaming at least 30% of the time, so yeah, mods are essential in this title, and without them it sucks, meaning that professionals have failed when amateurs have thrived despite the difficulties...
I would gladly pay the modders to make a new TES game than giving anymore money to Beth, they have become another company specialized in greed and degradation of their own once "perfect" titles, just as bioware and others that already conquered my despise towards them...
GL in your endeavors fellow modder, and thanks for this awesome mod
when this issue happened with me i took the army to the gates of highreach by all the farms and the dismissed them, they then left through the door as if to head to Solitude docks, then i went through the same door and they where waiting for me there so i just asked them to follow me again and there you go, see if that works.
When I have someone fight in the arena and then release them, they will become hostile to me. What can I do about that? It makes the arena practically unusable without always killing the survivors (which defeats the purpose of the arena).
First if all you only ended the game ay lvl 7 or 8 because you didn't take the time to level your skills like you're supposed to. Yes some of the shouts are useless, like marked for death and whatnot, but the magic is insanely awesome, especially if you LEVEL UP YOUR <insert magic skill here> but you wouldn't know about that because you just bee-lined it to the end of the main story without stopping to smell the roses.... I sure hope you don't live life that way.
Hi, just a heads up, I'm working on creating a gender-neutral version of this mod (f.e. instead of "High King" it's "High Ruler") and I'm going to work on tweaking little things such as interiors and whatnot.
I have the same issue, I have spent 50,000 gold on soldiers and they do follow me, but if I leave highreach, or fast travel, about 3 of them come. When I should have about 80...
If I was a modder I would totally pick this up and work on it, though unfortunately im not. People this mod is a great idea. Someone NEEDS to pick this up and make it better than it ever was. Awesome mod man. Good Luck and Good Travels
There was absolutely no need to make the quest so big, i would endorse the mod but this is just ridiculous on how long it takes and how demanding this mod is..
Great mod man, but a part of me always wished that this mod went about you actually becoming the high king in a different way, like for example; instead of going around and trying to obtain a certain amount of support from skyrims npc's, the player would instead have to first, win the civil war for either side he/she chose to take, and then gain the support of EVERY jarl in skyrim, which can only be obtained by first, becoming thane in EVERY hold, I feel that this change would make your mod immensely more awesome, because of the immersion and challenge it would add, while overlapping with actual skyrim gameplay, which will make your mod blend in, as if it was already part of the game! I know that it's pointless for me to say this now, since you no longer support this mod, but i felt like i needed to say it... oh, well, i guess better late then never...
jokersevenx to kill him you must talk to him and there should be a chat option called are you essential he will say yes then you have the option to make him non essential (aka making him killable) that's it
I got more bored after I played every FPS game twice, and only Skyrim manages to remain on my hard drive because it's an alternative to being unable to go outside the city.
Hi...i love this mod is good very good,i liked, but please...¿WHY NO FINISH THE MOD? WHAT HAPPEN ¿¿ other died mod in nexus?? why create mod and not finish ? please fix the bugs and finish the mod =( is not possibl other great mod died because he's author dont like work more...
It seems somebody had begun to revamp it, but the mod was taken down for whatever reason. I just want to see something done with this mod. It's great, but far too many bugs.
To the guy who said no woman can lead armies and should stay in the kitchen, ever heard of Joan of ark?She was a knight who got a king crowned and actually led armies to battle.People were actually jealous and managed to get her framed for witchery and she got burnt.Might be the closest equivalent to a knight in skyrim.
There are more and more women in the army nowadays.Several achieve high rank, sure maybe not general but still...
Hello Aysigago i was wondering if it was possible for me to officially take over the reins for Become high king of Skyrim i will make sure that you get all the credit needed after i heard you were no longer working on this mod and gave permission to mess around with it i thought i would be nice and awesome to continue your work. I have a lot of new ideas for it like new army systems and Forts it would be wonderful if i was able to take over thanks for reading this message and you are given all the time you need to think over my question. ~Your Friend Harkon121599
Harkon121599, it has been literally over a year since he put down the reins of this mod. I say if you can't contact him then claim it after you talk with the admins of Nexus so it will become officially yours to update, at least for now.
I've been playing with this mod some, very neat. Cheap terrible PC so really limited on the parts where it really shines, but the joy of working to become High King and enact your on brand of justice on every NPC you meet is pretty grand- I loved it, had to be one of my favorite mods ever just because it turned the game on its head.
Somebody did pick this up and they got shut down for not giving the original author credit. I know this is why, because I saw the warnings Nexus was giving him. Somebody for the love of god give me lessons in modding and I promise to make this mod kickass, or pick up on it yourselves! I have SO many problems with this mod. I lost so many characters to the Abyss that is a save in Highreach Keep. I just truly wish for some way to make this mod work, because I could be happy with this being my ONLY mod on my whole game. It makes the game enjoyable for me again. It gives me something to look forward to for my character. It's pretty much the ending Bethesda should've given this game. Somebody direct me to some lessons on modding and I'll start, or pick it up yourselves.
Found this mod to be very boring and I feel like it was pieced this together over a mundane weekend. Houses, enchanting tables, alchemy tables, and forges all over the place just to take space up. The Bard College layout as the follower home. People doing NOTHING special, while the guards trash talk you. And 1 guard to protect you at at time? You are a high king/queen, not some random person going to the courthouse to testify against some gang lord...
The ONLY thing I enjoyed was when an NPC with a questline attached to them got their head chopped off for trash talk, and they got up and walked around all stupid-like. That's it...
Eppickitty , have you even downloaded the NEXUS MOD MANAGER ? I only ask because this is your only post . I just downloaded it to make sure it works and it works just fine .
For people who have the issue of Surgus not showing up in the warrens but still want to do the quest, just open up the console, type 'help Surgus' (without the 's), get Surgus' npc ID, and type 'player.placeatme (Surgus' ID here without parentheses) 1' (without the 's). And voila, you got a badly voice acted Argonian Surgus. Just talk to him and get started!
It's just as much fun to put him in jail or make him work in the mine , that way you can stop by and b&@*$ slap him on a regular basis . If you kill him the fun is over !
This is a really amazing mod!!! I just wish you could download these and play them on the Xbox360!! That would be even more sick, but thanks for creating this mod, for me it has made Skyrim BETTER
I've played the mod for a while now. For some reason, the high king dialogue for getting away with a crime has disappeared for me! Is this is a known bug, and how can I fix it?
You marry Elisif by completing her personal quest. Then you simply talk to her with the Amulet of Mara you get from maramol. What I can't figure out is why I can't promote her to royal spouse
I'm so excited to announce my re-creation of this great (and old) mod. I'm calling it Become High King of Skyrim - TNG (BHKS-TNG for short). I have a TON of content and features planned and I'm in the final phase of development. This will be compatible with all versions of Skryim (except maybe GOG as I don't know how to test that). I hope you enjoy and I'm finally able to pay back all the modding I've used over the last many years, even if its just a little.
I'm certain most everyone who mods Skyrim is aware of this, but just in case there are a couple players out there who are not: the mod Rigmor of Cyrodiil actually does this one better -- it makes the Dragonborn the Emperor of Cyrodiil and the High King. And the story utilized to get you there is quite compelling. The only catch is the actual construction of the mod itself. Rigmor of Cyrodiil isn't too badly designed. Just more of the same infantile hand-holding throughout - a god-awful annoyance. Yes, there are indeed some fairly bad bugs in the game, even when playing in vanilla mode. Rigmor of Bruma is, however, an unmitigated disaster -- packed end to end with game-breaking bugs throughout.
However, the basic story is wonderful, heart-breaking, funny, gripping, great on all counts; which kind of makes me suspect its origins are elsewhere, not with the actual modder, since the mod is designed with such bizarre, infantile, ridiculous nonsense. But of course, there's no way to verify this. My point being that if you truly wish to experience what Bethesda should have done with Skyrim, try Rigmor of Cyrodiil. If you can tolerate the silly, infantile structure of the mod, and make it through to the end, then you will indeed find yourself rewarded with becoming the Emperor and High King of Tamriel. Too bad Bethesda was too short-sighted to see the potential in their own game. No surprise there...
You can mod a Xbox 360 and a PS3 version of Skyrim it is just a real pain in the ass to do which most of the time is not even worth it. Source: My PS3 Skyrim with 20 mods
I'm trying to download the mod, but it turns into a zip file and the folders show up empty when I unzip it. Probably really easy fix, but I'm an idiot. Any help would be much appreciated!

There are greedy companies..?
Nah.
Can't believe that..
to get this mod to work. does it conflict.
