  • Warm Sands Skeever

    Warm Sands, Skeever

    I was utterly devastated to learn that AradGad, the author of Skeever, ended his life on the 7th of January 2022. My deepest condolences to anyone affected by his passing. Count me among you. I'm writing this because his passing has affected me very deeply indeed; more deeply than you'd perhaps imagine given that we only started writing to one another last July. Anyway, here I am awake at two in the morning just me, music, and my thoughts of dear Gad. I don't know if I'll post this anywhere, but the urge to do something is strong, so I guess I'll write and see what happens.

    After a brief introduction in a YouTube comment section, we corresponded fairly regularly throughout the second half of 2021, quickly forming a companionable (initially techni...

  • New PC Update - back up and running

    ============================================================
    This is the second of two related articles. You can read the first part HERE.
    ============================================================

    I'm now the proud (and extremely grateful) owner of a new pc. Work on Inigo has resumed in earnest and it feels amazing to be back. :)

    It finally arrived towards the end of March (more on why it took so long below) and over the last couple of weeks I've been busily transferring, installing, tweaking, and getting Inigo back on his feet. Seeing him in HD with the settings cranked up for the first time is beyond fantastic. I'm not going to list the full spec here; it's really not important. Just know it's the most powerful machine I've owned by a country mile, ...

  • My personal thank you to all those who helped get Inigo and myself back up and running after my PC died

    Dear friends of Inigo,

    As some of you know, my pc went belly up last month and a group of amazing people came together to raise the cash for a new rig. A MASSIVE thank you to all those who spread the word and donated. The completely unexpected support and messages of encouragement have made the last part of a very ugly year really quite beautiful.

    Carol (the creator of friendsofinigo.com) started a crowdfunding page after learning that my pc's power supply died, frying the motherboard and taking a number of other components with it. My system is about 7 years old anyway so I was planning on upgrading piece by piece next year. Unfortunately, I sustained a major back injury before summer which made working at the computer almost impossible for months. This in turn ...

  • INIGO IN DEPTH - Character, story, and systems

    This article takes a look at some of the deeper aspects of Inigo - subjects I don't feel comfortable addressing fully in the main posts thread due to the length of my ramblings and/or potential spoilers. There are a few spoilers here but they are fairly light and I don't discuss Inigo's story beyond the events of Bad Vibrations and the subsequent conversations about your past and forgiveness. Every topic containing spoilers has a warning in the sub-heading.
    ------------------INDEX------------------1. Why did you make Inigo such a strange colour?

    2. Does Inigo really share a past with the player?

    3. What if I remember Inigo? Why not support this with dialogue options

    4. Arrow to the skull. If Inigo did shoot me how did I survive?

  • How Inigo came to be and how I learned to make him

    This article covers the creation of Inigo in two parts. The first is an overview explaining how I learned, and continue to learn, about modding. It's not a tutorial, but if you're interested in creating a custom follower like Inigo you may find some of the information and links useful. The second is a more personal account of my journey into modding and the crazy events that surrounded Inigo's creation.

    First the negative. I'm asked this a lot, mainly by peop...
