    V2.3 is here!

V2.3 fixes all known V2.2 issues, adds a few hundred new lines, and adds more whistle functionality. See the change log and the whistling section of the description page for more info.

FAQs and info for older versions of Inigo can be found in the forums section under 'FAQ and info for earlier versions of INIGO'

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Update instructions

    • 1. Get him out of the control of other mods (UFO, AFT, etc) and make sure he isn't riding, waiting, relaxing, or following Vilja.
    • 2. Save the game using the Save menu and then quit to the desktop.
    • 3. If you previously used Inigo on Steam remember to unsubscribe from the workshop version.
    • 4. Replace the Inigo.esp and Inigo.bsa files with the new versions.
    • 5. For those that use any kind of patcher, ASIS etc, be sure to re-run your patcher.
    • 6. Restart the game and continue from the save you made.
Step 1 is the critical part. He is completely removed from the standard game factions, if other mods (including Vilja) are still trying to affect him then they are going to get confused when he's no longer in those factions. It's fine if he is actively following you, sitting in the Riften jail, or even walking back to the jail.

NOTE: When you next save your game do not overwrite the save you created in step two. Make a new one so you can always go back if something goes wrong. This is a good idea when installing any mod.

Papyrus log activity when updating - When upgrading an existing save game there will be a second or two of scary looking Papyrus log activity. Worry not. This is normal and after saving all future loads should be message free.

SMF users - If you want to use both Inigo and kuertee's Simple Multiple Followers mod you need to turn off the SMF feature that automatically detects all teammates as followers. More info near the top of the description page beneath the update procedures.

    WHEN IS V3 COMING???

I'm currently working on V3 (where Inigo's quest will continue and end). If I have to stop for some unexpected reason this post will disappear. V3 is massive. It will take as long as it takes. If you ask when it's coming out you will just be referred to this message.

You can find V3 preview material at http://friendsofinigo.com/exclusive_v3_preview_material

    Hello !
Inigo is really awesome, but I just need to know something : I recruted Inigo while I was a vampire and I use Better vampires. As I started chatting with him, I noticed that while he was aware of my vampirism, he didn't make any comment about my race.

It is normal. As a vampire your race changes from XRace to XRaceVampire. But Inigo's dialogue (and there are also instances of vanilla dialogue where this happens) are only conditioned for the regular races, they don't have an OR condition for their vampire counterparts. Only Gary can tell you if this is an oversight or intended as you are changed so much as a vampire that your original race is no longer recognisable for Inigo.

Gary is aware. It isn't a major problem, as he did put that catch-all in Langley's dialogue in case of custom races, so everything will still function. If he gets the time, he will be adding some more racial dialogue for vampires (likely via 'or' conditions) in V3. He may not recondition all of the racial lines though, as Inigo does function as much, if not more, by smell as by sight, and I imagine your scent changes substantially when you are turned.

Might also add that sometimes the dialogue wouldn't even fit for vampires. Like the flame retardant line for Dunmer, where the vulnerability to fire of vampires would (partially) negate that racial trait.

The latest episode of Gopher's RP with Inigo is really great and funny.  Leonard and Inigo play off each other wonderfully.

Hello guys. I'm developing a mod that changes the description and the powers you get from the standing stones. I would like to keep my changes in synch with Inigo's comments on the stones so, could anyone please list or PM me Inigo's comments on each stone?

That was a bad idea. He's absolutely opposed to the idea of being a vampire so his dialogue will not change to acknowledge his new status and it's very likely various features will fail but I don't have any specific list of what those might be. In general, forcing changes on him using other mods will have more negative effects on his own AI, scripting, and story than any positives it might provide. But it's your game and every Inigo experience is unique, so good luck.

There are warnings all over the front page, and in the sticky posts, not to control him with other mods for a reason. A sound technical reason, not just because we are prejudice against vampires, or what not. Mods that control or change followers like that almost always do it by capturing them in an alias, and using that to override their own AI. The longer, and more often that goes on for, the more likely it is to interrupt or override something critical and cause Inigo to stop functioning. The most common result is that he stops following, and can't be made to follow again, but there are lots of other possible ways he can break as well. This is not just true for Inigo, but also for any other really complex custom follower on their own system. Mods like the one you used were meant to be used on vanilla followers, or mod-added followers that are on the vanilla system. How much damage they do to the follower's AI, and how fast, depends a lot on how complex the AI of the follower is, and Inigo is one of the most complex followers ever created.

So when he breaks, and we find out the cause, you will be told to go back to a save from before you turned him into a vampire, and don't do that. If you really want to break him, and be stuck with a broken and unusable mod, that is your own affair, of course.

Also, he won't be aware he is a vampire, and he has no lines for that, so some of his dialogue and comments will no longer make sense in the context you have created.

    Greetings, Fellas! :)

Does anyone here know if 'Realistic Needs and Diseases' has a problem with Inigo and his fancy for sweetrolls? I'm not yet one hundred percent sure he doesn't eat them, but it seems a little like it. Might there be a problem with the changes RnD does to the vanilla sweetrolls?
Wouldn't be really that bad if it were the case and I would certainly not ask for a patch or anything. It's more like a little worry, that Inigo will end up with 50+ Sweetrolls in his inventory, unable to eat any of them.

Kind regards and thanks in advance for any replies.

I have the updated RND and Inigo eats any sweet rolls I give him just fine. In fact, in this one playthrough alone, I've probably fed him some three hundred sweet rolls...

He does have to be in a "safe" interior (an inn or player home) to eat them or, rarely, he'll eat one while in a barrow because he's "nervous," hah.

I added Resilient dragon mod and every dragon encounter causes Inigo to be a coward and i have to constantly keep casting courage on him to have him as a back up which took very long during my first dragon run on my entire new game run so could you please do something about that ai a bit from villager to some other class that doesnt flee easily ?

Sorry pal, but that is not Gary's job. Please report the problem to the author of that dragon mod and ask him to modify the fear effect he uses, so that custom followers off the vanilla system aren't affected.
Personally I've been using Requiem a long time, which also adds a fear aura around dragons, that doesn't affect Inigo, because it is properly conditioned.

Edit: Hm, the last post of the dragon mod author was 5 years ago, so he has probably abandoned the mod. If you are a little familiar with TES5Edit or the CK, it isn't hard to add an additional condition to exclude actors with the teammate status from the effect (which will affect all followers off the vanilla system and also dragon hunting with the Blades for example). If you wish to do that and need further instructions I'll gladly help you with it.

I'm posting this here, on the Nexus SE Inigo page, and the Facebook page, as I desperately need help. I have the worst luck with this mod working properly for me. I'm playing on Xbox One right now, and last night I started getting the bug where Inigo gets stuck in a conversation with an NPC, thus killing his singing, etc. I'm currently a level 26 (level 24 when I started playing last night), so Inigo was working perfectly for over 20 levels. I've had this bug with LE, SE (PC), and currently SE on the Xbox One. Last night I repeatedly kept getting the "snap out of it" dialogue at the top of his dialogue tree. At least that gets him out of it, but it keeps happening. Until now, he was having conversations with Langley, he bought something at a shop once, he talked to Lydia, and he told off Nazeem several times.

It seems to happen only when he's trying to buy something, give to a beggar, or talk to Langley, at least so far (I'm guessing on the beggar/shop thing, as he currently has a decent amount of gold and it happens whenever we're in a shop or marketplace. I know it happened at Langley's last night because I dismissed him and went there to get him again in hopes of clearing out the issue. Didn't work.). It doesn't seem to be affecting followers because I picked up Erik last night and Inigo talked to him once without issue. And his talking to Erik was well after the issue started. I'm really at a loss, especially since I've had it happen with all three possible options (LE, SE (PC), and SE (Xbox)). I just don't get why shops/beggars/Langley bug him, but he will then initiate a conversation with Erik.

Does anyone have any ideas? And no, I do not use any other mods that could even remotely interfere with him. The only ones that I think could even do anything are Relationship Dialogue Overhaul (but this same issue happened on LE before I ever used RDO) and USSEP (which seems unlikely). I could try moving him to the bottom of my LO, but I had the same problem with LE and SE (PC), and he was last in my load order then, so I doubt that will help. The only things I've added to my LO are Relighting Skyrim and Lockpick Graduation, but they are both texture and lighting mods, so that shouldn't interfere. USSEP had an update as well, but I doubt that bugged him, at least I hope not. I'm at the point where I'm just going to tell him to stop talking to anyone but me, as I've had this happen so many times on different platforms and started so many new characters that I can't do it again. I just want to "beat" this game with my favorite blue abomination. :(

This is just a wild guess, but I wonder if putting Inigo toward the bottom of your load order, just above RDO, might help? Other posters that know technical stuff probably have better ideas.

I'm going to try putting him at the very bottom of my LO below RDO, but I doubt it will help, as I had this same problem on LE and SE (PC) when Inigo was dead last in my LO below RDO.
