Immersive Sounds - Magic
by lazygecko

NEWS

Version 2.0 is released.

- Overhaul of many of the destruction sounds. Fire, ice, and shock spells have been changed, with the fire school being practically completely replaced.
- Fear and Fury spells from the Illusion school finally have their own unique spell sounds, instead of sharing Firebolt sounds as they do in vanilla.
- Most sounds that were "upgraded" to stereo have reverted back to mono. Mainly due to difficulties in determining the sound source when enemies use the spells.

DESCRIPTION

Immersive Sounds is my series of sound overhaul mods, split into several different modules. The Weaponry and Magic modules are currently released, with more to follow in the future.

Immersive Sounds - Magic focuses on overhauling magic spell sounds. The aim is to not only fix a lot of my personal pet peeves, but also bring in much more variety between the spell schools instead of sharing a pool of generic, identical sounds.

INSTALLATION

Quite straight-forward here. You can install it via Nexus Mod Manager just like most other mods, or do it the old-fashioned way and just copy the .esp along with the sound folder to your Skyrim/Data folder.

COMPATIBILITY

ISM is designed to work out of the box with Audio Overhaul for Skyrim. Just place it after AOS in the load order and they will work fine together. AOS adds some additional elements to spellcasting, so I have created an optional package to overwrite AOS-specific spell sounds with new ones that better suit the style of ISM. This is completely optional, but you may find that some AOS sounds stand out too much from the rest without using it.

Separate compatibility patches are offered for the 2 major gameplay overhauls: SkyRe and Requiem. The purpose of these patches is to assign the new, unique Illusion sounds to spells affected by these mods. Without the compatibility patches, you would hear the regular firebolt sounds for those spells. Place the patch .esp after SkyRe or Requiem in the load order.
