The very talented '747823' created an awesome replacer for the ebony greatsword. An Umbra bastard sword I used from the beginning. So if you like the overall look of the sword give him some well deserved endorsments here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1449



Now, What I have done and why:

For my character I created a variant of that cool sword that fits more to my own dragonbone themed armor you can see here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3557

Idea:
The visual goal was to give it a mammoth tusk grip with dragonbone guard and a hardend damast steelblade. ALso a leathergrip with dragonblood dyre to give it some color.

Mesh changes (to the Umbra version):
I scaled up the sword little to upgrade it from a bastard sword to a full greatsword. I've done that because that way it fits better in my character concept of having a heavy weapons guy.
Since the blade is supposed to be damast I added more reflexion to the blade itself than in the original.
The player character now holds the weapon closer to the guard while using it. For me it looks more more fitting to the balancing of the heavier greatsword version.

Note: It's still an ebony greatsword replacer with the stats unchanged. Upgrading the sword at the forge will still need ebon ignots etc.

Extract into your Skyrim directory.
(C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data)


===UNINSTALL===
To uninstall Go to
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\meshes\weapons\ebony\ and delete
"1stpersonebonygreatsword.nif"
"ebonygreatsword.nif"
and in

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\textures\ delete the
"74_w" folder
