Nice mod. Love the system. Staggers badly need to work in first person. It's killing my immersion by drawing me out to third person everytime I'm staggered. Going to disable for now and enable when/if you add full first person support.
Good mod -very good effect on melee enemies, even though I think stagger is bad feature (it rewards player too much and penalizes AI - which is already bad) ,except maybe for AI mages
Also I didnt see enemy dodging arrows and I dont quite see it what could possible make it in the mod itself (but I didnt look to carefully)
I've always used Deadly Combat, because I hated the fact that you and your enemies could spam swings at each other without interruption and the mod added stagger for all hits, which makes more sense, especially if you are used to M&B: Warband mechanics, but DC's stagger just paralyzes you completely, which sucks if you are surrounded by enemies.
I found your mod the other day and decided to give it a try and I love it. I disagree with the fact that not all player's swings stagger (health percentage dependency) and the kneeling down when running out of stamina, but, besides that, I really like it. Stagger from melee hits is more similar to Warband's - you can still move.
I noticed that if you are not fighting a two-handed enemy, you just can't block according to your enemy's movement. People say you need to time your blocking but that sucks... It feels so unrealistic have to predict your enemy's strike... To prevent that, do you think it is possible to slow all combat animations? (player's too) Not too much... just enough so we can actually have a fight where footwork matters. It would be nice if the combat was like "chivalry: medieval warfare". In this game, the damage is dealt according to the trajectory of your weapon. Could you look into it for me ? ;o
i thought about such a thing as well back in the days but over time, after playing with a mod like this one (with time blocking) i learned to time block 1H attacks as well. not by seeing the attack coming but by understanding the AI. if you close the distance and enter the AI's range than you can assume the AI will attack. it's a matter of learning the game.
im not saying that slowing down the enemies is a bad idea. it's worth a shot, i guess. i am just afraid that if all attacks are slowed down than the player's attacks will also slow down and that will just feel bad. too heavy or sluggish.
man, i really want to try this mod but i cant since im deep into another game with Deadly combat and i cant uninstall and reinstall scripted mods just to try them out, and this once doesnt even have any installation process :-(
i will have to wait for a new game to give it a shot, i guess :-\
Great mod, stamina is important again:-)Though maybe you should consider doing a light version with a little less stamina penalty and stagger effects?(for people with combat and AI mods etc).
Well, despite its name, this mod IS a combat and AI overhaul. If you mix it with other similar mods, then your experience may likely be unbalanced. Which other combat mods are you using?
