This is probably one of the best texture replacement mods there is for Skyrim.
It's working 'almost' perfectly with Skyrim Special Edition.
Just make sure you remove wrfieldgrass01_n.dds from the Whiterun folder after you've copied the files over. That's the only file that has a problem.. and it's only a minor glare reflection problem.
yeah CTD for me walking up the hill to whiterun ... open cities is on my OLDRIM install

What i did was go into my MO > Right click the mod > INFORMATION > FILE TREE > textures / architecture / whiterun I FOUND AND DELETED wrfieldgrass01_n.dds

THAT SAID THERE IS PLENTY CRASHING . downgrade to 1k seems a little more stable ... maybe i can merge the two manually...
Very beatutiful and well crafted textures. Would it be possible for you to make a less saturated version, so it fits the vanilla colours better? especially the wooden floors
I love the textures here, Whiterun looks awesome and very different, somehow alive and standing there for ages look. I downloaded the 2k package thinking you were going to give the place a dark mood look on textures, How bloody wrong I was LOL :) I am glad I finally downloaded to see what the fuss was about with your textures. I can say this " Awesome job, clear bright in keeping it real like!" Whiterun a better texture for this is added to my fine collection of mods that make it look and feel great! Kudos for your work on this Whiterun.
I can also confirm that with this mod newly installed, I too had a CTD approaching Whiterun. I had another 5 mods freshly loaded as well but when I deactivated this one, I was able to proceed into Whiterun proper. While in the city I saved and reloaded this mod again and was able to walk around normally. It wasn't until I left the city near the brewery that I CTD'd again. I also had two incidents of black foliage (models not loading?) during this time. I'm using a GTX 1070 8Gb vcard and i7-9700k cpu on Windows7 64-bit...not weak by any means. What I did see of the textures was impressive and I'd like to be able to use this mod. Can't really say what caused the crash tho, but I'm going to leave this mod out of my load order for now until I find out what's causing my CTD's. BTW...I'm using the 2K texture pack if this helps anyone
I run out VRAM on vanilla but run hundreds of mods with this mod without crashing. My shared VRAM gets to like 6 gigs and still doesn't crash. Running SE if that helps. You know what does make my game crash? Google Chrome being open.
