When i first installed this mod, i began thinking that the trajectory thing would mess with the AI's aim since the spells didn't have a trajectory to begin with. Now after testing it out with a flame atronach, NOPE! No ho ho it does not!. in fact i think they're scary accurate with there fire bolt spells now. D: like, 80 yards man over a hill hit the wolf like it was mere feet from it. dude D: smh. like, Sniper accuracy man, seriously.
This is the most underrated mod I've seen. It's so awesome. It makes magic much more sensible, fun and satisfying to use, and cool looking! Definitely one of my favorite mods. So small, yet so significant. It -does- make Ice Storm kind of terrible, maybe an exception for that would be possible? At the same time it makes fireball a bit easier to use since if you miss, chances are you hit the ground near the target and they catch a bit of the explosion. NPCs definitely aim fine with this mod. I've even had them arc spells at me over low hills and rocks. Thanks for the great mod!
So I recently picked up Skyrim again and was poking around in TES5Edit. This mod is so simple! Spells are already projectiles just like arrows, but their gravity is set to zero. This mod just adjusts that gravity value (and sometimes the speed and range). So if anyone doesn't like what this mod does to Ice Storm or any other spell, it's trivially easy to fix it yourself.
I'm sure plenty of people know this, but hey, it was news to me a couple weeks ago.
Oh also, if you're using the Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 2 then this mod won't have any effect, since AOS2 uses its own custom projectile records. But again, it's a couple minutes work to load things up in TES5Edit, right click, "edit" the values, and fix it yourself.
Thanks, i read your comment and just learned and did everything you mentioned, made my very first personal mod by changing a couple gravity values hehe. Ballistic magic was one of my favorite mods, glad there was a way to keep it in SSE
Great mod Exactly what I was looking for. One question though: how can I go about adjusting the arc on each spell? I assume it can be done pretty easily in the CK, but I'm a noob with the CK and can't figure it out.
They're goddamn marksmen with it. I was running with a bashed patch and ASIS, and they were nailing me. Unfortunately, I was having difficulty getting it to work for myself but that's a different matter. NPCs adjust to it.
