Is there any way of increasing the number of splashes on the ground even more apart from increasing it in the MCM menu?
Maybe its perfectly balanced for Vanilla but alot of us have modded our weather, i for example am using Pure Weather & True Storms - Thunder and Rain Redone by fadingsignal and the splashes are not on par with the amount of rain falling, wich makes me want to see a really really really high splash density on the ground. Like... splashes literally everywere
I like the idea of this mod, use it often, but what irks me is how i have to REALLY LOOK for the effects of this mod. If i wasnt paying attention, i really wouldnt notice this wonderful mods effects :/ any way to make them more obvious to the eye?
Maybe more of drop splatters appearing. Not make the splatters them selves huge, but make more splatters occur. It will be pouring outside, but dont see too many splatters that you think you would see if its raining hard. Thanks for the quick reply!
I asked the same a long time ago but Isoku says its not realistic for some reason... :/ It feels weird looking at how many ripples are in the water and the difference with everything else.
Question: This runs scripts constantly am I right..?
I'm hoping you come back to this mods as well, Isoku. It's been great for the longest time but now with so many more heavy rain options this effect gets lost easily, sometimes so badly that I can't even tell if it's working or not. Throw in the new textures for rain drops on water and it really seems underwhelming. I have it on heavy, of course, with opaque textures and it's still not quite enough.
I have had some trouble with CTD’s in the area around Riverwood when trying to enter it. I was able to (apparently) solve the problem by removing Splash of Rain, but have done very very minimal testing. It is unclear if this was due to VRAM over-usage, or a mod incompatibility, or another error not directly caused by Splash of rain, or if this is an actual bug of the mod. I would like to mention that I am not the only one to have reported a similar bug that was solved by removing this mod (http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?showtopic=1027997&p=8464481).
I hope that this post either aids the author in finding a possible bug within his mod or incompatibility between his and another mod author’s mod, or makes it easier for other modders to solve this issue should they suffer from it.
I installed another mod which increases how much precipitation falls, and I don't really think this mod fits very well. I'm wondering if there's a way to increase the amount and density of the splashes but I'm at a loss. If anyone could indulge me that would be great. This is still a fantastic mod though.
What kind of framerate do you get during normal and rainy weather? I notice in areas where I run max fps the splashes work fine, but in areas where my fps dips the splashes disappear. To make them reappear I look directly at the ground. Looking at the ground my fps goes back to max. Not sure if it's relevant though.
This is unrelated to this mod but is worth noting that when my framerate drops, tree animations stop working. Once again looking directly up at a tree makes my framerate max and the limbs sway in the wind. If my frames drop below 40 or so the limbs remain stiff. It may be some sort of min framerate limiter. A way to cut down on effects when frames get too low.
Speaking of fps limits... these effects could be linked to certain skse mods that limit your framerate or even let you play borderless windowed mode. It could even be a 3rd party app like Nvidia Inspector causing it. Sorry, all I have is conjecture at this point.
@akkalat85 --- I have 30 - 35 FPS during rainfall but with the old version of this mod I see many splashes, I think this new version is not an improvement, I think it is a setback, it is curious but with the more opaque add on deactivated I see more splashes when it should be the other way around. I don't know about the FPS, maybe yes or maybe not but it has always surprised me that this mod is not better when it could be, unfortunately there is no other mod like this, what I'm trying to say is for example this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52612/? is something else but it creates an effect of rain incredible far above this mod, a lot and lot of splashes, it even create small pools of water on the ground during the fall of rain, I think this mod should be like that but sadly is not.
Maybe you updated while it was raining or something. The newer version gives me more splashes.
When updating mods there's usually 2 solid ways to do it; sometimes you need a clean save, other times you will break said mod if you try. iNeed for example requires you to simply deactivate old version, install new, and load up your game like nothing happened. You can break scripts in certain mods by not following the author's update instructions precisely. I suspect this may be your case.
@ -akkalat85 -- Well, I uninstall the mod and went back to install it by following the detailed instructions for the update, it seems that now the problem is solved but I don't see more splashes, are the same as in the previous version, WE WANT MORE SPLASHES! MORE! MUCH MORE OF THEM!
You have to disable the interior sound though, AOS2 already adds that and if you leave both on you'll find yourself with two overlapping <rain heard from interior> sounds.
I particularly like hearing rain pattering on the roof when I enter buildings, and I think the fact that it sounds a little louder in first person actually adds to the realism, so don't change it! Thank you so much Endorsed
Any idea why rain would cause me to not be able to steady my aim with a bow? When in rain, it acts like I'm being hit by something. Weird. I don't know wher else to ask this.
