Hi all, I'm Modd3r and I'm helping Cabal in developing the variants plugins for his textures.
First of all thank you for your support, we really appreciate it and we're glad of the positive feedback we receive for our work. (credits go to Cabal, the man behind these amazing textures )

Little news: we reached the Hot Files! Congratz to everyone! Yipikaye!

Now, just in case you missed the Readme button, I hope this sticky will help.

aMidianborn Ebony Armor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
Textures replacers made by Cabal120, author of the aMidianborn Brand, in HD resolution!
You can choose between 3 possible colors:
- Silver: the ebony armor with silver decorations and a mirror-like colored cubemap
- Golden: same ad above, but with golden decorations
- Black: following Bethesda concept about the ebony armor, it has a bleak coloration
and a grey colored cubemap
Installation:
It can be easily done by NMM, otherwise:
1) download the replacer you wanna use
2) extract the archive in Skyrim\Data folder
3) enjoy the new textures!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Differently Ebony ReadMe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
The plugin made by Modd3r adds 2 new armor sets: Silver Ebony and Gold Ebony.
Both are craftable, temperable and enchantable.
Installation:
1) install the ebony armor BLACK replacer
2) extract Differently Ebony archive in Skyrim\Data folder
3) activate Differently Ebony.esp
4) enjoy the crafting!
FAQ
~~~~~
1) Is it compatible with UNP/CBBE/UNPB/CNHF/etc.?
The Replacers are compatible with every body meshes around, so don't worry!
The plugin requires the installation of the new meshes in the related meshes folder (ebonyblack and ebonygolden), and then you
have to edit the meshes in nifskope in order to use the right textures! Like I wrote in the Glass Variants FAQ:
Actually you can, what you have to do is follow this path
Data\meshes\armor\ebonyblack and ebonygolden, inside you'll find 2 directories for each set, open them and put the new armor meshes inside "f".
After that you have to modify the texture path in nifskope: open the mesh file, in the menu on the left (Block List) click on (I report only the thing you have to click on):
0 NiNode <-
1 NiTriShape <-
6 BSLightingShaderProperty <-
8 NiTriShape <-
13 BSLightingShaderProperty <-

Inside BSLightingShaderProperty there is BSShaderTextureSet, if you click on it you will see new options under Block Details (see window below Block List), click on Textures.
You have to modify those texture paths you see with the ones used by Differently Ebony.

VERY IMPORTANT: YOU HAVE TO CHANGE THE CUBEMAP PATH TOO!
Because the default Cubemap is the one used by the black ebony armor, which is black-grey-white and not the coloured one.

2) Is it compatible with other mods?
Absolutely yes, this plugin is safe since it only adds a few items.

3) Is that it? We craft and.. nothing more?
More as still to come

4) Oh no! The servers aren't working! What are you doing?!
Nothing, really, maybe it's just Nexus doing its stuff.
Just wait a bit

5) Is it compatible with Opened Face Helmet?
the modifies done but OpenedFaceHelmet.esp aren't just related to the meshes, but they affect also the models' entry in the CK.
If you open OpenedFaceHelmet.esp's EbonyHelmetAA in CK and (for example) Differently Ebony's EbonyHelmetAADUPLICATE001 you'll notice that the biped model affect different character's areas: OFH alter only the Hairs and the Ears, while Differently Ebony alters the HEAD.
Click to see image explanation
So, basically, you have to:
a) Switch Differently Ebony's meshes with the ones from OFH and correct their textures' paths with Nifskope;
b) Open Differently Ebony in CK and modify EbonyHelmetAADUPLICATE001 and EbonyHelmetAADUPLICATE002 Biped Objects; deselect HEAD and chose Hairs and Ears.

Or Download here the patch made by Gambit77 which adds many other interesting things like Dual Sheath compatibility and UNPish meshes!

6) Tes5Edit says the mod is dirty and Tes5Edit never lies!
Yeah, that's right: Tes5Edit says a lot of stuff.
The fact is: when you use CK and try to modify something, and then you change your mind, CK will keep the "reverted" entry as a modified entry.. and since it's identical to the one in Skyrim.esm, Tes5edit comes up and warn you about identical records.
But that's actually an half truth.. the problem is if you use mods that changes that same record, because then you have to choose which one load first (the last you load will actually work in game, the first one not).
By the way, about Differently Ebony you can use it safely and load it before every other mod that change the leveled list or download the cleaned .esp I uploaded and feel safe about it.

Still in progress

I love this mod. It'll be much better if all 3 variants are made available.

An excellent ebony armor replacer. The gold-trimmed versions (for standard & ebony mail armors) are beautiful. Great work!

Not sure if this is the right place to ask Cabal but I've been using your texture and meshes for skyrim since the game and your mod's was released for it they are all excellent quality but I wasn't comfortable with the black armor all black so I've been working on embellishing some of the details, just wanted to know if it's ok to upload the textures that I've been working on up on to nexus for special edition it's still work in progress and there's some clipping on the gauntlets and shield which is beyond my knowledge how to fix, obviously I'll credit you for your mod etc but I'd thought I'd ask.

texture mods should run fine with sse, use nifoptimizer if you're skeptical but I'm pretty sure that just checks meshes anyways

I have a question I have noticed that when I have mods that let's say have guards with ebony armor, with this mod active the guards are naked. Is this a common bug with amidian or is the problem elsewhere?

I have been out of touch with this mod unfortunately but would anyone know if the red eye effect in the helmet has been created yet by anyone? I noticed earlier Cabal120 said it wasn't but that was about 4 years ago. I always liked that Cylon like look to the armor and thought he really missed out not including it in someway.

I have zero skills with or time to cover it myself unfortunately but hands down this is one of the 3 best if not the best Ebony Armor replacers yet. There is a mod that covers it's own ebony retexture and also includes a separate coloring of the filigree patterning on the Armor itself. You can combine these two In Mod Organizer and have his textures with the electric blue outline on the filigree along the arms, should, chest, greaves and boots. It looks quite striking. Obviously this is Endorsed. Thank you again Cabal120 and for keeping your work on Nexus. It is important to still support Skyrim (2011).

You can just install it manually. It'll work perfectly fine with SE.
