Any chance that Martin had a dagger as well?

Wow! Thank you so much for making this! I just stumbled onto this mod and Martin's shield today and I have to say, it made me tear up a little thinking of all the adventures this sword took me on as a kid on up through high school, and of the great Brian Jaques and his passing. I know you created the mods a few years ago, but really, thank you so much for your good work! I'm making Martin's sword my go-to for the foreseeable future. Much luck with whatever you're up to these days!

Thanks, mate, glad to hear the mods struck a good chord with ya. :3

Mostly I'm waiting on the FO4 GECK, itching to start flailing at it with the Assault Phaser, but I've been working on a couple things in the interim for Skyrim.

An unbelievably awesome and amazing tribute to an equally awesome and amazing book series and Hero. One problem though, the faceted pomel stone option doesn't seem to work?

Edit: Nevermind, just had to create a folder named "Ratdeath" inside the meshes>weapons folder, then drop Ratdeath.nif in it and the faceted pomel works.

Maybe I'm too stupid to get it but i can't seem to get close to the sword. Anything wrong?

It might take a little finagling but it's possible to reach it. You could try moving a bit further back so you're under the higher part of the staircase, then move forward, or use the Telekinesis spell if you have it. Alternately you can try hitting it with a first word or second word Unrelenting Force to rattle it around to a more accessible point.

Ahh, glad it worked out! Skyrim has a nasty habit of periodically shifting the influence zone of items lying on the ground, so that's probably what happened there and reloading straightened it out.

I downloaded this a while ago and just got around to checking it out in-game - excellent work! It really brings the sword to life the way it's described in the books. The texture and mesh are of great quality, and not too stylistically out of place in Skyirm. One of those legendary artifacts that no Redwall fan could ignore.

Also, upon further inspection, I realized the inscriptions along the blade are written in D'ni! Redwall AND Myst fan? Instant high five for you. May I ask, does it say anything specific? "If found, return to Kadish's vault," perhaps?

Haha, well done good sir! I was hoping someone might catch that little easter egg. :3

It does in fact say something specific. Translated, it reads: "I, Boar the Fighter, Lord of Salamandastron, Son of Brocktree, reforged this sword. May it last a thousand seasons and may evil quake and fall before its gleaming blade."

Can't say that's canonical, but as far as I know there's no mention in the books as to what the inscription on Ratdeath says, so I improvised.

I'd love to hear how the maker of this mod hit upon the idea for this sword. I mean Redwall isn't exactly Skyrim in style or context, so it seems like sort of an obscure choice. but then again there's quite a few people who are trying to get superman in to this game, so I guess I it makes sense in comparison.

I sort of think of it as kind of in the same vein as Isilmeri's LOTR weapon mod. Sure, Lord of the Rings stuff isn't really Skyrim in style or context, but it's a bit of added spice in what you can bust out in a fight.

Now, how did I hit on the idea for it? Really, it's pretty simple: I was looking at the artwork of Ratdeath on the cover of Redwall and thought "This would be neat to have in Skyrim", and since no one else had done either it or Martin's shield, I went and made 'em both.

It is an underrated mod, but texture and shape is very high quality. And rightfully deserve more endorsements.

I apologize on the behalf of community for not giving it the attention it requires.

Ah, I ain't complaining. I made fans of Redwall happy with this, that's good enough for me. :3

Thanks, though. I'm glad there are people who enjoy it and feel it deserves more attention.
