That mesh is a soul gem holder placed bizarrely on top of a skull in the ice, originally. I wonder if it was meant to be a placeholder fora circlet marker, and then bethesda forgot.
I remember form one of my playthroughs a wile back that there is a way to get the crown, i forget where from, but there is a way to get it somewhere. i think i found it in blackreach, but im not sure...
how abouthaving the original one but with 4 holes for gems and when you place a ruby emerald diamond and a ametyst (all flawless) the screen turns white for like 2 secons and on the place of the original one is the actual crown?
you should hit it with Tesvedit. You have some udr. Also, what is up with the 2 placed null references? Were they something you were going to place from Dragonborn and forgot about? I assume its same to remove them.
I think it would be neat if there was perhaps a lost book somewhere that talked about the lore of the crown as well as hinted to it's whereabouts. Where that book would be? Perhaps the college of Winterhold, in a chest for the archmage maybe, something the old archmages never took seriously. Just an idea~

I don't mind that it's not on Vyrthur, I kind of like the idea of finding it on a long lost dead-(possibly the last King) of the Snow Elves.
