But you do this in the CK ... Make a duplicate of the manor and the stairs in the CK and choose directional material snow (there are many different sorts of snow, you have to try out). Have a look at the vanilla snow buildings in the CK.
Silly, stupid, annoying question here: Is it possible to use this house as a player house in-game, even though it's only a demo? I'm in the very, very early stages of learning to make a house mod, so until I get the hang of that, I'd love to be able to use this house in-game. Thanks!
Okay. It's fine if my followers can't come in; they are irritating and always underfoot anyway, lol. I did notice that anything I dropped in the house was immediately labled as "steal" in red lettering.
Hi Tamira. Thanks so much for porting Stroti's work to Skyrim. I was using carl Zilla's mod "Home Construction and Decoration" for a long time now. I asked him if I could try to navmesh the manor, and he was OK with that. After stumbling across this in my quest to find out how to add the house to CK to edit it, I'm so going to use your version instead. Thanks again for this.

You can use it as player home - but it is not furnished, has no bed. no chests, no decoration etc. There is a mod that allows you to add these things without the CK, I think it is called Jaxonz positioner. And as it is not navmeshed, you cannot bring a follower with you.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22791/? this is one I use. I have been searching everywhere to find this manor as a resource. I'm doing a little happy dance now that I found this page.
I found that NPC's had a hard time using the stairs at the front door. They got stuck whatever I did with the Navmesh. The workaround is to place the doormarker below the stairs on the ground. Works like a charm!
Stairs that are converted from Oblivion all have this issue.
I quote what I wrote in the comments of Strotis Castle Wall Resource: As for the stairs: This is a general problem. I noticed that already when I converted Strotis Small House. You will notice that too in the guardhouse interior. All the stair steps in Oblivion are steeper than those in Skyrim, I compared it by combining vanilla Skyrim and Oblivion stairs in one nif. There must be a hardcoded character setting for the striding length/height. And as the conversions are 1:1, the climbing of the stairs is somehow stuttering, sorry there is nothing I can do about it.
