With all the mods I have right now I get 80-90fps. How many fps is this going to drop me? 3570k, 8gigs, 2 GTX660.

Looks good, but unfortunately the performance hit is too much I lost 10 FPS instantly and made my game unplayable.

How is this different than Grass on Steroids, which increases grass density while also giving you better performance?

I believe Grass on Steroids increases density by making the grass models bigger. That being said, the difference is obvious.

It does not make grass models bigger in the newer versions, afaik. But was just wondering.

Same question. How is this different from the other more established grass density mods like Glorious Grass, Skyrealism Grass (STEP approved) and Grass on Steroids (enhance performance)?

Or this just does the same thing under a new fancy name?

      @modderpack:
i repeat my mod isnt new ive created it long time ago and it was only available on the steam workshop =P ive finally uploaded it after many requests (glorious grasses was realased nearly at the same time and dense vegetation is older then skyrealism and grass on steroids)

my oppionion is that glorious grass isnt a good mod - i cant recommand it! i have my reasons for this - it just looks ugly at some places.

i dont know skyrealism grass because i havent checked it out

and the difference between my mod and grass on steroids is obvious

This mod is the best option in my opinion. Guys, I opened it up in TES5Edit, and the changes are very simple and clean. Take a look for yourself. Literally, all this does is slightly increase the density flag on several of the default landscape forms. No scripts, no meshes, no textures, no dirty edits-- nice mod that should never cause any kind of CTD or other weird error.

It most defenitly looks nice but the performance hit must be quite high. I'll try it out for myself later on.

Yeah, I tried it the performance hit is quite big but it's playable still. It's a nice compromise between Dat Grass and Grass on Stereoids I guess. I'll test it a bit more to see if I'll be able to keep it installed. It's a very nice mod though. Thank you for sharing.

      Endorsed.

This does look really nice in the screenshots. But I suppose the question I want to ask is, how is the performance with this?

With SFO and other mods I'm sure a patch would need to be made.

I don't currently use SFO, I use vanilla.

But for trees I actually use something that will conflict with this, so I'm hoping for a patch to make it work with TreesHD Skyrim Variation. I love that mod and I will not stop using it unless it's included in a mod that does something else I use, or want to use in the future.

I am interested in trying this out though, see if it's any better or different than the other mods on the Nexus that do the same thing your mod does.

Currently I cannot find a mod that does this, and includes a patch for TreesHD Skyrim Variation mod. So I really do hope you create a patch for that.

sfo is a replacer - so it will work just fine.

i dont think that it will be in a conflict with treeshd but im not sure.

sorry for asking but there are a few mods that do exactly this, no?
"glorious grass" and "dense grass" mods have been out there for a long time now. is this mod any different than these two?!
